Hickory & Ash is a modern American meatery, offering hand crafted, Colorado-centric cuisine. Located within the Arista Broomfield community, Hickory & Ash features lunch, dinner and brunch menus that offer a variety of hickory grilled, sustainable and locally sourced ingredients, such as beef provided exclusively by the esteemed Aspen Ridge Ranch. Highlights from the kitchen – helmed by the talented Executive Chef Ryan Taylor, son of acclaimed Denver chef, Kevin Taylor – include short rib pastrami, classic steak tartare and glazed bone-in pork chop. Craft cocktails, local beers and an extensive wine list round out the culinary offerings. The inviting 5,500 sq. ft. space features rustic décor, one private dining room seating approximately 66 guests and a 24-seat outdoor patio.                                 I had the filet mignon and brussels sprouts. Both were mediocre at best. I was disappointed.

                                Had a great meal accompanied by excellent service; Gavin was great and made fantastic recommendations including a great bottle of wine, appetizer (Lump Crab Hushpuppies), and side (“upscaled” mash potatoes) that did not disappoint. Hickory & Ash even helped make our evening’s milestone celebration special by providing a complimentary dessert! Great place to have a higher end/quality and appropriately-priced dinner. Only drawback was the over exuberant guests seated near us whose volume at times made it difficult to hear our own table’s conversation; no fault of H&A unless tables can be spaced further apart. Nonetheless, overall experience was excellent; looking forward to our next dinner there!

                                This place has been our go to for years. We often planned our date nights here. We moved further away but still drove over. We love the steak Tartare We really enjoyed sitting at the bar, meeting new people, chatting with the bar staff that we had come to know. It has changed. The last 3-4 times we have gone it’s all new faces on the staff. It’s been close to empty and just lacking the fun friendly vibe they used to have. The food is still really yummy but that’s about all now. The staff was friendly with each other but not customer centric like it used to be. My fiancé said as we left last night; “looks like we need to find a new place” I’m sad. We really don’t have many nice places in the norther suburbs.

                                While our waiter did a good job of giving us some history on the menu, he also said his favorite meal was the Sweet Tea Infused Pork Chop. I asked if it was bone in and tender. He said yes to both. It was not tender, the knife could barely cut it and it was chewy. I pointed that our to our waiter and even showed how it cut. After we agreed, he asked the kitchen to remake it. What was sent out was a smaller and thinner version, still hard to cut and chewy. The sides were just reheated and placed on the plate. My husband enjoyed his salmon and sides. I should have remembered by self advise that pork chops made in a restaurant are rarely tender. We may go back to this restaurant for another special occasion.

                                Hickory and Ash was fantastic. Never had crab hushpuppies before. Had them separately, but now have a new way. We had the filet and salmon, both cooked perfectly. Desserts were also divine. We've found a new place near Denver.

                                Excellent as always. This is one of our favorite places to visit. I appreciate the gluten-free options - especially the new gluten-free bread! The food was excellent, and the service was outstanding. Can't wait to go again!
