We are an eclectic Los Angeles restaurant, located in Koreatown, heralded for its creativity and genre-defying cuisine. Their first restaurant together, owners Lien Ta and Chef Jonathan Whitener opened Here's Looking At You in 2016. Named a "Restaurant of the Year" by Food & Wine Magazine and one of Eater National's "38 Most Essential Restaurants," HLAY was also the subject of author Patric Kuh's "Becoming a Restaurateur." After four magical years as a small independent restaurant, COVID-19 would force its forever closure. But 17 months later, fate would have it that the community would come together to help resurrect this very special restaurant. Thanks to you, Here's Looking At You is back.

This is one of my favorite restaurants in LA. They never disappoint and this time was no different. I am so glad I got to eat the tomato dish before tomato season is over!!! Always a hit.

Wow this place is fantastic! Damian at the bar was great with suggestions and explanations. All the dishes were creative and delicious. Cocktails were imaginative and very tasty as well. Highly recommend! We will be back.

This incredible restaurant by Lien Ta and Chef Jonathan Whitener is quite simply top shelf across the board. I've never had a bad meal, but this last one was just beyond. Usually I say that food does not get better than the fusion delights of the Netherlands, but this restaurant is on the same shelf. Tremendous service, best drinks in town, and bold, exciting dishes that blow expectations away. The new trout dish was beyond - do NOT miss this incredible dish. And the chocolate desert with olive oil and salt was tiny but powerful - a treat I will think of for years to come. This is not a restaurant to go for home food or down-the-middle dishes. It's both experimental and exciting and so worth the effort. Truly food as art. We're very lucky to live in a city with restaurants as interesting and compelling as this one.

The Tiki menu is so fun! Music is great! Every dish we enjoyed was delicious and creative - onion dip, soba with mushrooms, steak tartare, Romano beans with sofrito, cavatelli with sungold cherry tomatoes and crab. The chocolate pot de crème wasn’t creative like everything else, but it was damn good! They tweak the menu regularly, so it’s always exciting to see what’s new and seasonal. Great service by Elliott.

My favorite restaurant in LA. Various changes to the menu regularly and everything is always great. I have tried so many different dishes I would’ve never thought to order and none have disappointed. Cocktails are strong, well thought out, and most importantly taste great. 5/5 every time.

All-new cocktail menu at HLAY is always an event! Food is totally original, just like the cocktails, with unexpected ingredient combos that always work fabulously. I am lucky to call it my walk-to "neighborhood bar."

This place took me by surprise. I had read good things but every dish was stellar. Everything was perfectly balanced, interesting flavors, perfectly executed. Even the Caesar salad was fantastic. My favorite dish was the hamachi crudo, which was light with flavors that pop. I could have eaten 3 of them myself. The scallops were also a standout, as well as the duck liver with plum butter, and the pork belly. As good as the food is, the drinks are next level. My husband and I worked our way through the cocktail list and had one winner after another. And they just added a cheesecake dessert that has pickled apricots and Thai basil syrup, and you should definitely save room for it.

First time here and sat at the bar. Cocktails were well done and bartender does a nice job taking care of everyone, however when he said he would talk to someone about our food (much too salty) we were surprised that he didn’t as nothing was done. We had the duck liver, steak tartare, and blood cake in that order. The food just got more salty with every dish. We were hoping for some veggies to break up how salty everything was, but were told they only have bread for extra charge. Should have skipped the last two items. Would come back just for cocktails, sad about the food since we were hoping to find a new fav restaurant.

We had such a great meal at Here's Looking at You. Food and drinks are so inventive and unique. We love to sit at the bar. Great location in iconic K-town on 6th Street. Damian at the bar was the perfect guide for our meal and the area!

Overall the food was alright not spectacular as two of the dishes were left most untouched. Shishito peppers had an artificial sweetener aftertaste as did the tarter. Given the meal was almost $200 for 2 people I expected to be blown away.

HLAY is our favorite restaurant in all of Los Angeles. The food is to die for and the service is beyond exceptional. The ambiance is cozy but energetic and it is always wonderful to go there.

This place used to be amazing, food was unique, with flavors working well together. This time around however, something changed - the flavors were either bland or overpowering, duck came out cold and literally the minute after we placed the order. Would most likely not be back for now. . It's unfortunate

My partner and I celebrated our 3 year wedding anniversary and HLAY delivered with excellent service, cocktails and food. We both loved the Ashley Margarita, a twist on a classic didn’t disappoint. The clams and tartare were our favorite, the clams had a great kick and the bread was on point! My only comment would be lighting, dim lighting in a small restaurant is always a nice way to set a good vibe.
