Hapa Sushi Grill & Sake Bar - Pearl St. Boulder
The name Hapa is derived from the Hawaiian term that describes a harmonious blend of Asian and American cultures. Like our name, our food reflects this dynamic combination. The menu is based on traditional Japanese cooking fundamentals which are then amplified, muted, or mixed with influences from many different styles of cooking until they are something completely new: they're Hapa. We have stretched the boundaries of creativity to develop dishes that defy all the rules while holding true to our roots. We hope that you will find our menu innovative, uninhibited, and distinctly fun! Incomplete parties will not be sat until complete.

Yummy! We had such a nice time. Great food as always, we sat outside and listened to street performers 🤗
The rolls are better than most around town. The ambience and staff are wonderful. great place for sushi.
So nice to be in a restaurant (out on the mall, actually) where everything is clicking. Order another beer, there in 90 seconds. Water glasses, always full. Usually, service is what detracts from, not adds to a meal in Boulder, this was a delightful exception! Troy is a fabulous manager, and we told him so.
Fabulous Sushi and cooked food as well. Service was awesome, beer was cold and the food was fresh and delicious! Highly recommend the magic mushrooms, shumai, house salad, Colorado hamachi (this is a MUST if you like yellowtail) and pretty much everything is delicious.
Amazing food, superb service
And they have amazing non sushi delicious food
We love Hapa. There is no better sushi. Our server was very nice and brought everything out in the perfect amount of time. The ambiance of Pearl St is amazing. We love our time at Hapa! We will be back.
Fantastic as always - we love Hapa!
Just a weird sushi menu in terms of roll combinations, wouldn’t go back, not what I’m into. However, nigiri sushi was fresh and tasty.
Very good sushi for Colorado, reasonably priced, and fun atmosphere
Have been several times! Usually fantastic! But we had a baby who was upset so we asked (very early after sitting down) to get our food to go. Well it took over 50 plus min to get our food and table next to us got theirs 1st after ordering after us. We were trying to get out so we would not disturb the other people around us. You would also think they would want to have the table so they could flip it!
Quantity generally wins over quality there in contradiction to Japanese traditional that focuses on many small dishes of high quality.
Excellent as always - you can’t go wrong with Hala!
Great service from the bartender in the back of the restaurant.
Another great dinner, service and food were great as always... 21 years straight!
I walked in, showed that I had reservation and was immediately seated. Food was delicious and had multiple vegetarian options. Only downside was it was too loud, but would definitely go again.
The food was outstanding as usual, but unfortunately on this occasion our server was inattentive and seemed disinterested when he was actually present.
Given that we were seated outdoors (which increases the distance to/from the interior of the restaurant) I would expect that things might be a bit more difficult for the server., but the service in this case was inexcusable. Next time (if there is a next time), we will sit indoors.
Hapa, if you are paying attention, make sure your outdoor staff is able to properly attend to their tables.
This is our favorite Boulder sushi place hands down. From the courteous, attentive waitperson, to the excellent food (taste and portion size), and fast food delivery we would recommend this to everyone.
Great place! Tough to have an intimate discussion unless outside but the food and service are awesome
Crazy good sushi for such a landlocked state!
Service was exceptional from the host to the server to the expediter. Food and cocktails wonderful. Boulder locals loving all of the extra outdoor seating on Pearl St. We hope the city will allow restaurants to keep serving on the bricks. Normally we would avoid downtown tourists on the summer weekends, but this Friday night and all of the outside seating softened us to the idea of making this a regular date night option.
Great service. Excellent sushi.
C-19 outdoor seating into the Pearl St Mall. Roped off section. Nicely done Hapa!
Always excellent sushi. The Colorado Hamachi is pricey but a delicious way to start. Love the XXX Roll, Tempura Lobster Roll, and best value delicious roll is the White Tuna Roll. Hope they can keep the extra outside seating on Pearl, as we love sitting out there.
The good was delicious and we are so glad we sat outside!!!!
Very nice service and very friendly.
Whenever we are back in that area we will definitely return.
Great to eat outside. Tempura was hot and awesome. Rolls delicious. We sat outside - so much fun.
Good and reliable sushi - nice expanded patio setting and super, friendly service!
Love the outdoor eating area here. We come for just cocktails sometimes and tonight we had dinner and the service was awesome as well as the food! We love it here.
very friendly, well- curated sake selections , interesting choices of sushi well prepared
It was great to get out! Large outside area! Wait staff made great suggestions. Wine special was awesome!
Service was awesome and the food was delicious! Definitely one of my favorite spots, and the happy hour is always a good choice.
Great food, reasonable prices. Our table and area were small, kind of cramped but overall a good dining experience
Luke, our waiter was outstanding. Hapa does an amazing job on customer service. Food was fresh and delicious, as always. We order ALOT of food and the only suggestion I have, is that stagger the appetizers a bit. I don't enjoy it as much if I have 7 appetizers arrive at once.
Great to have the Hapa happy hour back. The menu is as great as always and the food was very fresh and excellently prepared. I look forward to returning.
Unfortunately not so great this time. Took over two hours for lunch, and when it came the food was not up to usual quality. We waited for our food f o r e v e r. Something’s gone wrong with my favourite restaurant. :(
Amazing food and waiter, but hostess was cold and my date was sprayed with some windex when they were cleaning the door next to his seat. The table was small and cramped as well, in an awkward location. However, would definitely go again!
Staff is very thoughtful. I lost one earring on a previous visit. They found it and saved it for me even though I didn't check back until over 1 week later.
With my daughter, we had a fantastic experience! Food was fun ! Delicious, and quickly served ! We sat in the far bar bar so it was very quiet and easy to chat with her ;)
If your looking for sushi , this is a dont miss ;)
Server was great. Nice outdoor atmosphere. Delicious food.
Good food, pricey but fun
Great gf options.
