Handies Douzo is Houston's first hand roll focused sushi bar. Following the popularity in the Heights, the team brings its second location to Montrose in 2022.     Quick, tasty and easy menu. Always our go-to spot in the neighborhood - easy to sit down and rolls come out quickly, super easy to eat by hand and the 3 roll and 4 roll specials are fantastic and easy to eat.

    I always go to the one in the Heights, but it was last minute and they were booked. So I decided to try out the Montrose location. I love how they recommended a hand roll which wasn't on the menu, it was a spicy Kanpai oh my so yum!! This location is just as good as the other one, their hand rolls and crudo dishes are always SO FREAKING DELICIOUS!! This wasn't my first time at Handies Douzo and it definitely won't be my last!

    The hand rolls and crudo are to die for. Flavors outstanding and presentation impeccable. There aren’t a lot of seats and this place deserves a line down the street. Wise to make reservations.

    Food was outstanding but service was a bit slow and you need to be prepared to feel cramped in the bar stool seating with little elbow room and leg room next to the diners next to you. Corner seats are particularly close to the next seat over and should be avoided.

    The service, or lack thereof, always lets this place down. That would be more acceptable if they weren’t charging a premium price for average rolls.

    Handies Douzo has the freshest high-end fish, the most creative crudo, super talented and helpful itamae, and the BEST (most welcoming and helpful) staff — all at half the price you’d spend at other places offering top quality hand rolls and crudo
