I enjoy this yakiniku style of dining. My only issue is that the lighting was too dim. It was hard to tell if the meats were done on the grill. Better lighting would have helped a lot.

We’ve been wanting to try this place (it is a chain I believe) and finally got a chance in Honolulu. We did the Taste of Japan combo deal for 2 people and I could have been rolled out of there at the end of the dinner. It has salad, appetizer, hotpot rice, multiple rounds of beef including a round of shrimp and a yummy dessert. Service was on point, fast and attentive. You grill your own food although some dishes are ready to eat. Halfway through the meal, I was already stuffed and by the end it was a hell of a feast to remember. Definitely worth a try and come hungry !

Valentine’s Day dinner on our first night in Honolulu. The service was excellent and very attentive. The food was really good. Prepared dishes arrived quickly and the meet for self-preparation was well presented with nice marinades. If anything, we over-ordered and we’re absolutely stuffed by the end of the meal. We skipped the dessert included with our meal because we just couldn’t eat any more. Thanks for a fun night!

Very good food. Large portions. Friendly good service. My wife doesn’t use chopsticks, they had plastic forks. Restaurant is old and worn , but clean. Good value for Japanese food in Honolulu. I would eat there again. Bring your own silverware!

Great yakiniku, decent prices, and really friendly service. I got there late and one of my kids fell asleep and was zonked out for the entire meal, and the staff even offered to watch him if I needed to take my other kid to the bathroom.

We booked in advance and once we showed up they put our family of 3 on the bar while there were other tables available. We requested to move to table and the manager indicated that that hat was not possible. We simply got up and left and we searched to find a dining establishment on the 2nd of January in Waikiki which is almost nearly impossible. I will never go to this restaurant again and shame on the manager to not accommodate our request.

All the meat was chewy and tough. Not what I am used to at Gyu Kaku. Especially with the better cuts of meet such as Hirami. Service was good and the staff very friendly. I will not go back to that location however and risk another bad meal.

コロナ前とメニューがだいぶ変わりました。仕方のないことですが、サンチュとかテグタンスープとかザ焼肉なメニューが、なくなっていたのかやら残念でした。すき焼き風の味付けといい、アメリカンに寄ってきた感じです。神戸ビーフというものを頼みましたが、うーんという感じ。ハワイでこれなら及第点というところでしょうか。

We've come to Oahu for the past 25 years and our trip always includes a visit. The Waikiki location could really use an update though. The service is always good whether you have the BBQ or the items cooked from the kitchen like the ramen. We had the 2 item BBQ lunch x 2 (2 beef, 1 pork, 1 salmon which was an upgrade) and added 2 veggies (garlic spinach and shio cabbage). It was more than enough food for the 2 of us and was very tasty. We enjoyed the variety of flavors.

We went as a party of five for two separate parties. We ordered two separate orders. There was another group next to us still looking at the menu. A waitress brought our salad to the table next to us even though they haven't ordered yet. They brought dishes to our table, but we didn't know which ones were which orders. Waiters and waitress who were not the main server just dropped the dishes and left. We ended up asking the main server which dishes belong to which orders. Our servicer was very nice, though. The food was good and we were all full.

日曜日なので18時に予約、店内はほぼ満席でした。日本の店の「いらっしゃいませ～」を知ってる者とすれば、スタッフの対応はイマイチ。無言での案内でした。料理は特に可もなく不可もなし、無難。リピートはないかな。

We made reservation in advance and was seated right away. We had the AYCE premium level with 40 item. Our server was attentive and it was a great dining experience. While the cost was a biy higher than the average AYCE BBQ ($54 compared to $25-$30), the food was fresh and it was a great dining experience. Wish there was a store closer to home!

Impressed with the service of our main server - Dexter/Daxter (I should have at least paid attention read his name badge properly). Very attentive and obliging. Food was delicious, most definitely satisfied that bbq craving. Proper meat sweats! :))
