Greeley Chophouse Ratings and Reviews
Pre-theater dinner with another couple. Waiter was told we were on a timeline. Four wonderful meals and plenty of time to make the theater. Parking is somewhat challenging, few spaces untaken on the same block as the restaurant. Found a space nearby, though.
The Chophouse is my idea of perfect eatery! My colleagues raved about my choice for dinner at the Chophouse during a business trip to Greeley. The atmosphere was casual class; nice, not too stuffy, inviting, quaint. The menu was simple; a perfect balance between number of choices and diverse enough for everyone's palate. The food presentation was really classy, among the best I've seen and it tasted excellent! All this for a very reasonable price. I'll be sure to visit on every trip to Greeley! I highly recommend the Chophouse!
Service was terrible. No follow up on drinks/re fills. Requested cornbread twice and was never brought to the table. When food arrived, one order was not ready. After 5 minutes when it did arrive, the fish was raw and not edible. I will go to Outback Steakhouse before ever going to the Greeley Chophouse. We have been to other Chophouse locations( Colorado Springs & Denver). The Greeley location is not close to bring on par with the others.
I love Greeley Chophouse! The food is always good and the atmosphere is perfect. The staff has always been very friendly. My favorite meal, the filet trio is always cooked exactly the way I ask, where others places tend to over cook steak! It’s definitely a great place to celebrate an anniversary or have a great night out with friends!
We come here often and usually have a great experience! However this experience was. It good. We had to wait 25 minutes and we did have a reservation. The service was friendly but very very very slow ? There were some large parties there. The waiter was not very knowledgeable about food or wine. The entrees took forever and when served were mediocre at best. The potatoes were stiff and not hot or creamy. We spent 200 for four on dinner and were disappointed. We will return as we like the owner and take this to be just a bad night. But if it was our first time, we might question returning.
Not a great experience. Had an early reservation and our server was also the bartender. He was not engaged or attentive. Food was barely warm. Steaks were good but the halibut was a huge disappointment. Server never came back to check on us. Loveland Chophouse is far
superior in food and service. Make the drive!
This was our 3rd dinner at Greeley Chophouse. The scallops were some of the best we've EVER had, big, perfectly seared in brown butter and incredibly delicious! Mushroom & Bacon Risotto was also very delicious, as was the cornbread that they serve before your meal (in lieu of bread). Ummm-ummm! Food presentation is always excellent. We think the prices here are quite fair for what you get and will come again when we are in the area.
We had a table near the door, so every time people came or left we were cold. We had to wait over an hour for our meal, although they brought our wine and some cornbread sooner. Our server said they were slammed back in the kitchen, but it did seem like too long to wait. Wines by the glass were unremarkable.
Let me start with a positive. Our server was top shelf. And the bottle of wine was one of my favorite so that made the experience not a total disaster. The food however, very Inconsistent preparation. My steak and lamb chop appetizer was good. My wife's was overcooked. Lobster pasta was off. Very minerally flavor. Hostess tried to blame it on the saffron and that we weren' t used to it. She may not have intended to but she was talking down to us about the saffron which was insulting. The risotto that came with my steak was a lumpy mash and had a consistency that was more like tapioca pudding not risotto. Actually that's kind of insulting to tapioca pudding.
I ordered my steak Oscar style and I get that chefs want to make something their own but the shaved asparagus (instead of whole spears), horseradish cream (instead of hollandaise) and some kind of shredded crab meat (instead of lump) said that the chef was trying to cheap it out, not make it his own. In fairness, my steak was perfectly cooked.
For dropping over $300 ($375 with tip) on a 4-top it was extremely disappointing.
It was my college friend's birthday and I flew in from California to celebrate the occasion with her and her husband. I asked around for a special place to take them and was told about the Greeley Chop House. I made a reservation on Open Table stating we were celebrating a Birthday.
We three arrived at 7 PM and were immediately seated. The restaurant wasn't busy. We ordered wine and our meals. My steak was very good and I heard that my guests also enjoyed their meal. When we were finished the waiter asked if we wanted dessert and I reminded him that we were celebrating a birthday. He had not been told. He then brought out a very good creme brulee with a candle.
Would I recommend this restaurant? I guess so as the food was good. But I thought the service was sloppy (plates were handed out as if they were cards to be dealt and the waiter wasn't friendly or gracious) and it was very pricey for what we ordered. I'm giving it an overall three stars because I don't know the competition in the area.
We went to the Chop House for Dinner the night of our wedding. My wife and I both ordered Steaks well done. However upon receiving our dishes my wife's steak was cooked to medium, not well done as requested. Due to her being pregnant she must have her meat cooked to well done (the waitress and kitchen was made aware of this when we first ordered our dishes) My steak was not cooked to well done either but was more on the rare side. When our waitress returned she immediately took our food back to the kitchen to put back on the grill, when she returned we cut into our steaks and once again they were not cooked correctly. My wife's was cooked to medium well and was missing the large piece of steak she'd cut off in the beginning to check the steaks cook, so not only was she given an undercooked steak for a second time but she only recieved a portion of her steak back upon it's return. My steak was also still undercooked. Our food was taken back to the kitchen for a complete refire upon our request. Our waitress was very kind and offered to bring us a complimentary appetizer. We were brought the lamb meatballs, however when we cut into the meatballs they were very pink in the center. Once again our waitress had to take them back and we declined any other appetizers. We finally recieved our steaks a third time and luckily this time they were cooked as ordered and the steaks themselves were very good quality. Once again I'd like to say our waitress was amazing! She took care of our situation to the best of her ability and she is the only reason I gave five stars for service. Even though we had to send our dishes back multiple times not once did we have a manager come and check on us or the situation, which for the cost of the meal and that we were there for over two hours(which we did not receive any sort of discount even with multiple cooking mistakes!) is quite ridiculous and not worth the cost! Definitely will not be recommended. Especially for a special occasion.
Food took entirely too long, was over cooked, and was overpriced. The waitress ignored us for most of the time except when we were ready to walk out she did inform us that our meal would still take a bit longer,,,, after we watched two tables of 3 which sat down 15-20 min later than we did get all of their meals. I will not be going back. Poor service, poor food quality, by far one of the worst restaurants I've been to. If you have you heart set on the chophouse go to the one in boulder.
Greeley Chophouse used to be more elegant - not sure exactly what has changed but the food is not the quality it used to be nor is the service. For the money, I would recommend driving to Loveland for the 4th Street Chophouse or Fort Collins for the Longhorn Steakhouse. Either one of those out weight the quality of meat as well as service.
The Chophouse always delivers on great meals and warm, personal service. They make great cocktails and have always delivered a wonderful Vesper if you’re partial to James Bond’s classic drink. The tables are set with white linens and the antique bar is a great place to start the evening off or enjoy the full menu. Don’t miss the best restaurant in Greeley!
Highly recommend! Have eaten here several times and have had fantastic meals here every time. Filet was incredible and cooked to perfection. Cocktails were top-notch as well. Our server's name was Mike and he put the experience over the top with his attention to detail, humor and level of service. Will definitely be back.
I took my teenage son to dinner. We had good, friendly service. Our steaks were cooked perfectly, something I can't say for most steak houses. My filet mignon did not have much flavor but salt helped. The wine list is pretty weak especially on the red side. My son ordered a speciality coffee and asked that it not have the alcohol. Unfortunately it came with alcohol. The waiter comped us with a dessert so all ended well.
The service was exceptional and the ambiance was very nice and scale and the steak was tender and tasteful. My only complaint was the menu posted on OpenTable was an old one and the prices had gone up at least $5 on every item. While that was disappointing the experience was excellent and I definitely will go again.
