Brought family from out of town to brunch. The table was outside by the sidewalk where you have the street right there. They did a decent jump of trying to make it feel separated so that wasn’t too bad, but it may bother other people. Food was good as usually, a little pricey but everything seems to be going up in price lately. Server was excellent! Wish I remembered his name.
Great location- the food and service is always good! Very good ambiance.
Super fun a great! Hostess need to pay attention to notes! Celebrating our anniversary and nothing was mentioned!
definitely loud!!! but it was a Saturday morning.
Food was ok but for apron 25 dollars a meal I would think that they could have gotten the order right. We ate a nice waitress. but she was hopping so, getting things like slat pepper, ketchup and extra cream was an issue.
Went here for dinner. A little pricey for what you get...a $17 salad with no protein looked like a large side salad. Fish and Chips were pretty good however. This location is right on the road, and the crazy guys with loud mufflers like to bomb up and down the street in front like a drag strip. OK, but will dine inside the mall somewhere from now on.
I wanted to like this place, I didn't. The waiter seem annoyed when we arrived. Water refills had to be asked for, repeatedly. The food was underwhelming for the menu price.
We were promptly seated and service was also prompt. There is noise from street traffic. The food was good and delivered timely.
WAS HARD ENOUGH TO GET RESERVATION AND STILL WAITED TO BE SEATED FOR 10-15 MINS
WAS SEATED AT THE CORNER OF SIDEWALK WHERE VEHICLES SMOG AND NOISE WAS INEVITABLE
SIDEWALK TREES LEAVES , Debris OR WHAT NOT FALLING ON OUR FOOD
JUST WANTED TO TRY THIS RESTAURANT AND WAS CURIOUS WHY PEOPLE WANT THIS PLACE SO BAD
FOOD AND EXPERIENCE NOT WORTH FOR THE MONEY
WOULD NOT RECOMMEND NOR RETURNTO THIS PLACE
First visit to Great Maple- friends were in town and we gathered for a late brunch. The food was excellent- a variety of creative and unique dishes which everyone enjoyed. Something for everyone- which is hard to accomplish in our group. We run the gamut from meat lovers to vegetarian, large appetites to light eaters. Service was great- we did not feel rushed- will return!
Wanted to love this place but sadly didn’t! Food was expensive for what it was. We got a fried chicken sandwich, brisket sandwich and egg dish. All were not great and overpriced for what we got.
We arrived to check in for our reservation and the two behind the counter were complaining about a customer for 1-2 minutes before greeting us. We checked in and waited for our table. We were seated inside and we waited a bit just for waters. Our waiter arrived at the table and asked for our drink order. We ordered two bloody Mary’s. His response was that the bar is backed up about 10 minutes so it might take a little longer and we said that was fine. Then he went into a spiel about how the food is taking a while to come out of the kitchen - approximately 20-30 minutes- also okay with us. However he proceeded to press that we needed to order an appetizer because the wait was going to be so long. It was like he wanted us to leave? Anyways our drinks and food came out at a reasonable time no issues there. Food was subpar - nothing special. We’ve been to this location before and had great service and food so I was surprised by our visit this time.
Great! Outdoor dining was lovely and food and service was great!
food are amazing，especially the burger and donuts
Food was delicious and portions were very generous. Service was fair, no offer on drink refills or checking in on the table.
Chicken and maple donuts were outstanding to say the least
We sat on side of the exit of parking structure pretty loud.
For what your paying for I don’t think it’s that worth it. There are other breakfast spots across San Diego that have a wider selection for better prices. The food isn’t bad by any means. I just wasn’t that impressed by it for what I was paying for. Location wise being a part of the parking garage and having table outside means lots of street noise and people just walking by so i recommend eating indoors if you mind the noise. Service was great. Our server was really nice and checked in with us often.
Services were great! Food came in perfect. It was great!
We initially had our reservation stolen by another couple but the manager rectified everything quickly. She assured us that this was unacceptable and promptly removed the couple from our assigned table because we had a dog with us, so we required outside patio seating. Service was extraordinary and each server who came by was kind, courteous and quick to know what to do. We completely forgot about the mixup once we sat down. The staff here is excellent and we'd definitely come back! I'm also bringing my mother here next time!
More that an hour from the time we sat down until food arrived. Took about 15 minutes to even see a waiter. Sat at an "outside table" right by the exit of the parking garage onto Genesee. Ambiance was car exhaust and squealing tires...not to mention it was a wind tunnel. Not my idea of a great $125+ breakfast for 4.
We had the most delicious food, prime rib foe 2 of us and the crispy chicken. The wait staff was so awesome we had Issac as our server and he was great! They were spot on with their service. The desserts were to die for the maple bacon donuts and key lime pie 🥧 the birthday girl got some pumpkin pie and it was delicious.
The food was on par with Denny’s simply disappointing
The server was great
The price was high
The ambiance was okay
Best breakfast ever!
We were so excited to go check out the Great Maple at La Jolla. Upon arriving we were seated by the street burning by the sun for 9 mins without a waiter. Finally some shade was provided. Again we were forgotten about wanting to place in our order. The food selection was minimal and extremely expensive. The alcoholic beverage will a small glass which was filled with ice.
Waitress was super nice and attentive but it was really loud and hot inside. Temperature was better outside Felt kinda bad for staff running around.
They allowed a medium to large size dog inside which barked a few times and it was extremely loud. I’m all for pets accompanying their owners but I think they should sit outside in the patio area. People can be allergic or afraid of animals.
The Kale/Chicken salad had a strange taste. Also, while some of the outdoor seating is in nicely-built booths, most is not, and some is directly adjacent to the parking lot exit.
The food was very good although a bit pricy. However it seemed like everything was fresh and everyone was very nice. The one very weird thing is they serve you special coffee drinks in a regular glass with no handle so it’s too hot to hold. I had to wrap my napkin around mine just to be able to hold it up to my mouth for a drink. The location itself is very cute and has an expanded outdoor patio where I saw some dogs. The closest and easiest parking is to enter on Genesee. The iPhone map suggested parking way too far away. Also the restaurant is a little loud so may be better suited for a younger crowd.
Amazing service by Christine and food was unbelievable!!
We went on restaurant week so $30 for 3 course meal is really great value. Only thing is that i wished their signature maple bacon doughnut was one of the choices offered on the prefix dinner menu.
Awesome food and service!
Came here for restaurant week with a friend. We had a dinner reservation but still had to wait about 20 minutes. They were out of the 2 appetizers and entree that we came here for. Our server promised us some complimentary hummus but it never came. The food was decent but would probably not get it again.
Best restaurant week experience! Even though it was super busy and apparently short staffed, the manager and assistant manager did a great job catering to all the customers and motivating the staff themselves! The quality of the food was one of a kind, and the ambience was perfect!! Would come here over and over again!!
We checked in 10 min before our reservation and got seated 25 minutes after the reservation time. They even sat 5 parties that arrived after us. They recognized the mistake and they didn’t offer a discount nor a drink or anything. Food took about one hour and a half to get to our table and food quality was not what we were used to from the great maple. Very disappointed with this visit as it was supposed to be a relaxing night after a long week. Probably will not choose this location again.
Out of food at 630 in the evening!! Several dishes not available. Waited 1 hour for our main course
Server was great and si was food
The food is absolutely delicious. My biggest complaint would be the noise level. The restaurant is extremely noisy to the point that you have difficulty hearing your dining partners and feel like you have to yell.
My entree of salmon was unseasoned and delivered lukewarm instead of hot. The potatoes and fried kale were mostly inedible.
Great food and service. Outdoor dining is noisy but did not impact the overall experience.
I ordered the crispy skin chicken with risotto. The chicken was tough and the barely there skin was not crispy. The risotto was tasty.
My son order the carmelized pork rib with mash potatoes. When eating the mashed potatoes he bit into a half-inch sliver of bone fragment. So he stopped eating the potatoes.
Our server was very busy, maybe saw her twice during dinner. Probably under staffed last night. We barely had room on our table because the dishes from the appetizers and salad were never removed. Also, waited quite a bit to finally get soup spoons for the soup and utensils for our dessert.
Probably an off night.
Service was not the best, but food made up for it!
