We had reservations for my sons 11th birthday. This is his favorite place to eat in Raleigh. The food is always fantastic and service is usually perfection. Tonight was a different story. We had to wait over 10 min for anyone to come greet us at our table, drinks took forever and the server was not Attentive at all. We put in a order Togo and sat at our table for over 15 min before we had to get up to remind him...and low and behold it’s sitting in the window ready. He was too busy chatting it up with the bartender to even notice. Hope the next time we return is better.
I got the gnocchi and it was to die for! Girlfriend loved the ambiance so will definitely be coming back.
Girl’s night/birthday celebration. Missy was attentive, knowledgeable, and upbeat. We had a great night with amazing food and delightful wine. We will most certainly be back and request Missy every time!
Friends were in from out of town
First time to visit Raleigh, and reviews lead us to Gravy. Amazing food that was so darn sinfully good! Had the Gnocchi with shrimp and my daughter had the bolognese both which were outstanding! (Huge portions- we should have split one) Jessie was a lovely server, and the outdoor courtyard was charming. A must in Raleigh dining. A+++
I visited Gravy this past weekend with my wife for date night and we had an amazing experience. The food was fresh and delicious, probably the best I've had locally. Our server Missie was the highlight of the evening. She was very friendly, attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. Everything that she suggested was delicious and my wife and I had just an overall welcome feeling from Missie. She made sure that we had everything we needed but wasn't hovering over the table hoping for a tip. I know great service when I see it, having been in customer service for 15 years and I have to say that she provided the best experience that my wife and I have had. We will definitely be coming back to Gravy for the amazing food and specifically to sit with Missie!
This restaurant was AMAZING. We were celebrating my boyfriends promotion and had a larger party than allowed with covid restrictions. The manager was able to seat us at two separate tables but in the same room, which was very nice. The manager and waitresses were very kind and the food/cocktails was delicious.
From our appetizer thru drinks, entrees and dessert, our meal was fabulous! Everything waa delicious and we'll definitely be back.
Really our first sit down/inside date night in like forever. Honored our reservation immediately, and tables were spaced safely for social dist (we felt very safe throughout the night). Food is the shining star here and both my wife and I raved about our choices. Drinks and Wine selection is plentiful and reasonably priced. Service was great and attentive. Ambience is bright and rooms were moderately loud. Very enjoyable evening.
Food was great especially the gnocchi, portions were perfect . The waitress was very helpful and accommodating Made reservations for outdoor dining and was told there was not any available seating for outdoors. Will still frequent this restaurant.
The food was amazing and the waiter so nice and patient. We have twin toddlers and our food was fast and delicious. Perfect!
I would have liked the music to be a bit quieter, but we were outside, so I understand why they had it up.
Heard of this place. While visiting, I had to go. The food is delicious and perfect and wine list excellent. Get the risotto balls. Our waitress, Missy, was excellent and knowledgeable of the menu and very tentative. The extra help, we did not get his name but he has a black Jeep, was also great and helpful. I will go back to Raleigh just for this restaurant.
The food was delicious. The risotto balls were perfect. Great drinks and ambiance.
Anniversary
A very unusual Shrimp Fradiavolo - full of root vegetables. It didn’t really work- almost like they needed to empty the larder.
Missie was a great sever knowing the menu well & not rushing us. We would definitely visit again.
Awesome hand made pasta , great service , nice little spot for a good Italian dinner
We use to go about every other week but the last two times (with all the new Covid protocol) have been extremely average.
We were impressed with Gravy. Visited for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. We were promptly seated at a table in a beautiful private courtyard. The wait staff quickly approached us and were very attentive. The fresh homemade pasta dishes we had were excellent. Overall a wonderful experience. Would definitely recommend.
Everything was great and the kids loved it!
Went there to check what the hype was all about. Disappointed? A tad bit...but I've been to worse places. Right off the bat, ambience was good, loved that they took care and attention to space out tables and maintain distance. It's a thought that matters!
Bread was amazing, the appetizers were on point! Calamari was crisp and the sauce it came with was amazing; Risotto balls were good too.
The Entre is where is went south. In all fairness my need to try something different is what did it, I think. A Ribeye with Sicilian marination caught my eye. Asked for medium well, came out medium rare. Now if you know meet, you would know once meat cools down, you can't put it back in the toaster! That makes it chewy n horrible.
Lasagne was Meh, tomato sauces should be subtle and not overpoweringly tangy and was the problem with my Son's spaghetti too.
Dessert, the tiramisu was average. Overall, would I go back? Maybe once with the hope that the first one was an anomaly, every restaurant deserves it!
Birthday dinner
Lovely night, food and service!! The heaters outside were the best thing
very good! loved the menu. Next time we will eat outside
We went to dinner and Missie was our server. She was absolutely amazing and went above and beyond for us to make our girls’ night special! Will definitely recommend her again when we go back.
Tried two new items and both were very good, especially the Brocioli Ragu, excellent!
Best gnocchi in Raleigh! Would like more California wines.
Food came out cold. We had to ask for things like salt/pepper and silverware. The food was OK, . Maybe it was an off night.
We sat outside in area shared with sitti. It was so nice
Nice menu with a couple of main course selections for vegetarians (nothing for vegans, unless you request special changes). Nice atmosphere. Wait staff very attentive. Need to make reservations early for Saturday evening.
Ravioli was exceptional and server made sure we were happy with all.
Service was great...the waitress was very friendly! Food was delicious...everyone was pleased. At the table, the meals included ravioli, gnocchi, bolognese, spaghetti and meatballs, lasagna and eggplant pie. The gnocchi was definitely a hit! It’s a must try dish!
It was for my birthday treat and I was very happy with our experience.
Delisted. We’ll visit again when back in Raleigh.
Great! Amazing food, excellent safety protocol. Would go back soon
Food was so fabulous! Can’t wait to go back!
I would just like to start off saying that if you have never tried this place, YOU ARE MISSING OUT. The service is phenomenal, I made a reservation for the patio and was concerned because it was a bit cold outside, so I called and spoke to Jessica whom I thought was a host but was actually the manager and the level of service she provided was outstanding! The rest of the hosting/wait staff were also excellent! I unfortunately cannot remember their name off of the top of my head or our servers name, however everyone was absolutely fantastic! The food is also some of the best in the Raleigh area! Thank you Gravy!
We couldn’t have picked a better place to treat our son during our visit to NC State. The calamari and risotto ball appetizers were done to perfection and the main meals were so tasty. We normally don’t have dessert but I’m so glad we tried the cannolis. I felt like I was eating in the Boston’s North End. Great job, Gravy !!
As always, the food was amazing. GM stopped by for a little chat...she was delightful.
