   We love Gravy! Two of my friends and I joined my sister to celebrate her birthday over pasta and wine. The starting garlic bread was delicious and they happily brought us more. Our server was so sweet and fun. Enjoyed our meals and the bottle of wine. Plus leftovers for lunch! My sister even had her choice of the dessert menu for a comped birthday treat. The tiramisu was perfect and a great size to share. Highly recommend and will be back!

   Another great experience here. The food and service was excellent. The risotto balls were fantastic as was the artichoke ravioli and the tiramisu was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend.

   Overpriced small portions lacked flavor. Chicken piccata was very disappointing nothing like a traditional Italian chicken piccata. The sauce with the chicken parm lacked flavor, seasoning. Truly disappointing. Service was good about the only good thing about the experience.

   The food was amazing but the bar tender was our waiter and was absolutely swamped. It took us almost two hours to dine at Gravy because the waiter was busy running the bar and waiting tables.

   The hostesses could use some training. No greeting or eye contact. When we left, no thank you for dining with us or any comment and they were right at the door. My wife had Chicken parmigiana and it was excellent. I had Chicken piccata and I was somewhat disappointed. The chicken was somewhat tough and it was a very small piece. My table was in a narrow center row within a couple of feet of another table so I felt like I couldn’t converse with my wife.

   our experience was average. The food was ok but nothing to remember or bring me back. Service was slow, but we were not in a rush. They seemed to be having some trouble with the servers not having anyone organizing things. The apps were good, but the main dishes were just ok. For a place named "Gravy" the sauce was forgettable. For the price we expected much much more.

   My wife and I were excited to have our anniversary dinner at Gravy. We arrived very early (6:00 for a 7:30 res.) because we wanted to walk around the area but then decided to see if could get in early. We were told our table wouldn’t be available until the reservation time but we could eat at the bar, so we did. So far so good. The specials looked amazing and we decided to each have a different one. We were told they ran out of the specials! Remember it was 6:00 on a Saturday. Not a good first impression. We ordered the calamari and it came with a long blond hair. Neither of is have blond hair. It was returned they said they would take it off the bill. My wife ordered the spaghetti and meatballs and I had the artichoke ravioli. Both were disappointing. The ravioli can with so much sauce it looked like ravioli soup and not very tasty. The meatballs had so much seasoning and were so dense, they would make Italian grandmother would cringe. When we got the bill and the calamari was not taken off. I asked the server why and she said it was a mistake and removed it. Not sure if we just caught them on a bad night. We may try again but this visit surely left a bad taste in our mouth.

    Used to come to Gravy many years ago and it was terrific. Came back for Mother's Day and the restaurant has lost the magic. Do not eat here.

    We enjoyed the bruschetta. Our son loved the kids spaghetti. We added meatballs. I had the artichoke ravioli which had a nice cream sauce. My husband had the tagliatelle bolognese. The meat was a bit over cooked and hard. My mother in law enjoyed the lasagna. We all split the tiramisu which was large and tasty. We did not get our garlic knots until the meal was almost over. It was Mother’s Day. I don’t think they were quite ready but it may have been due to a staffing shortage. We were at a high top table which was sort of small for 4 people. It rocked quite a bit so my husband placed napkins under one table leg, The wait staff was very busy but courteous. I’d recommend for a less busy time.

    It’s almost as if the waitress was wishing that she were elsewhere, had to ask for refills on soda and wine; had to flag her down multiple times. Ultimately the bartender with the Mohawk gave us our bill and then awkwardly forced the waitress to deliver our check for signing. Awkward because he had to force her. Everyone has a bad day however it does reflect on the restaurant.

    First time and I don’t know if I will be back. Server was good but busy. It was her first busy morning and it showed. Nothing against her. Just waiting a long time for drinks and waters. The risotto balls were fried too hard. Our food was warm to room temperature, not hot. It was an okay experience. Nothing really stood out. 5.5 to 6 out of 10.

    My husband and I had both made a reservation for six with a party total of 12 for Prom. I called a couple of weeks out from the reservation to see if we could get the tables together or at least near each other. The friendly person on the phone confirmed they would be back to back tables. When our son and group arrived at Gravy for the reservation, they were told they couldn’t accommodate the group near each other. One group was upstairs and the other downstairs. They were disappointed. Food was good as usual and great location downtown!

    I recommend this restaurant ❤️Italian food lovers , the homemade gravy(sauce)and homemade pasta is on excellent . Gnocchi, chicken carbonara and tagliatelle bolognese are all wonderful, generous portions. we will go here again . Drinks and service were very good

    decent food, although a common issue is overcooked chicken parm and we ran into that first hand. Nothing special here, margarhita flatbread made with untoasted cold pita bread, interesting concept but maybe they are sharing supplies with their sister restaurant next door. Small slice of $9 dollar cheesecake. I see no real reason to return, so much for the hype.

    My wife and I went to Gravy for dinner for the third time since moving to Raleigh, 2 years ago. The first time it was great all around. Our second experience was okay, but not up to our first meal. Tonight was consistent with our second meal, unfortunately. The restaurant is great, service was excellent, but the food just brings the whole experience down to a middle of the road meal. Not sure what they lost in the last two years, but I hope they rediscover it.

    EXTRA. The spaghetti and meatballs were extra. Too much basil in the sauce and too much garlic in the meatballs for instances.

    The salmon and lasagne were delicious . The scallop risotto was good but would have liked a few more scallops . Wedge salad was very tasty. Service was good .

    Put us at a high top (even though we requested a regular table) right by the door where it was cold. Seemed like there was maybe only one waitress for the entire restaurant, so things were slow to come out. We waited a while to get our second drink order in, and had to wave her down. Food runner seemed really confused when asked questions. Brought us full dinner plates when we asked for a few share plates. Food was great.

    As always, our experience at Gravy was great, but our waitress Missy is what made this visit memorable. She was very engaging and made sure that we were well taken care of during our dinner - something you don’t experience often today due to staffing shortages. I highly recommend that you request her as your waitress during your visit.

    This was an incredibly disappointing dining experience. I made a reservation for two, and made note that it was my cousin’s birthday and would love it if they could do a dessert or something for her,even if I had to pay. That did not happen, nor was there any acknowledgement that we were there for a special occasion. Aside from this, when we arrived, we were walked through the half empty restaurant and led downstairs into the basement where there were three large tables and one rickety two top. The table was so uneven on the brick that we couldn’t even put a wine glass down without the entire table shifting back and forth, let alone using a knife and fork to cut into my dinner. The basement smelled musty and one table had crushed up food all over it which was disgusting to look at right next to us. The table we were sat at was not set for dining and the host literally tossed the silverware and napkins onto the table making no effort to make it presentable whatsoever. It was very awkward. As we sat down we realized that all we could hear were the footsteps of everyone upstairs which were very loud given half of our time there was spent completely alone in this dingy, dungeon-like “event room”. Our food arrived very quickly and was extremely hot - almost as if it had been microwaved. My cousin got the gnocchi which were the size of a large ravioli and resembled large pieces of cut up potato. I got the chicken piccata which featured a piece of chicken which was genuinely so hot, there’s no way it hadn’t been microwaved. The chicken sat with vegetables and capers atop a bed of plain noodles. No sauce, no seasoning, no flavor. The only redeeming quality of our dining experience was the wine and our server, Fabrizio, who was not stellar by any means but was good enough to act as a slight reprieve from the uncomfortable atmosphere and lackluster meal. I will never be back here and now understand the heavily mixed reviews but understand even less how it’s still open.

    Food was just ok 2 people said it was good 2 people didn’t enjoy it at all. The bolognese was disappointing. There was no flavor or seasoning and the pasta was gummy. The risotto balls the “gravy” was cold underneath.

    Everything we had was delicious -- risotto balls, asparagus ravioli, eggplant pie (my favorite, get the cheese on top!), cannoli and cheesecake. Samantha was our server, and she was amazing! Definitely recommend!
