About
Cafe gratitude is very inconsistent in their food. You can have a great meal one night and then bring a friend a few days later and order the same thing and its not good.
This was our ten year anniversary/Valentines dinner. It was scheduled for 645 and we were seated promptly. It was a price fixed tasting menu which we knew in advance but before we ordered our drinks the food started coming out. I ordered wine and my husband ordered beer. The first beer he ordered they were out of, the second also not available. They actually had no beer. Before we ate the first course the second came out. We had to ask the waiter to please slow down. The food was absolutely delicious and the staff attentive but we felt very rushed. Not sure if they were over booked or why the rush. Not the romantic dinner I had envisioned.
Need to hire more servers. Understaffed for the weekend of Valentine’s Day.
So glad they removed the goofy names for the food. Always delicious!
Everything was great!
Gratitude is a very good place to go for healthy and delicious food. The atmosphere is calm and dark with intimate, lovely lighting. It was perfect for the dinner we were planning. The staff was extremely accommodating and skilled at managing the three different allergy issues we had at our table and they made it simple and easy for us. I really appreciated their help and suggestions. Two of the three of us loved our meals. The pho (soup) was not up to the standards of the other meals. It was served with no accompaniments (usually pho is a broth with noodles that is usually made with a broth that is seasoned with many spices and heavily garnished with fresh herbs such as bean sprouts, basil, and cilantro. In this case, it was a bland soup with little taste, noodles and nothing else. That was disappointing but I still give Gratitude 4 stars as it was otherwise delightful.
I always say this place is "Very LA" and it is but in the best way. The food is fresh and delicious. My friend commented, "I guess you can't go wrong here, can you?" I had the Kelp Noodles (Liberated) and we shared the Buffalo Cauliflower appetizer. The cook on the cauliflower was different than anything I've tried before. The waiter said part of the process was flash frying, which is what must give it that unique crisp. Very tasty! And I loved the kelp noodles. I guess in texture it was like seaweed salad meets vermicelli, and I'm here for all of that. The margarita was also tasty and just strong enough. This is always a good place to have "lunch with the girls".
Delicious food, fine ambiance and very nice customer service.
very nice vegetarian restaurant.
Went for "brunch" on a Sunday.
something for everyone on the menu.
New menu since September.
Like getting married: something old, something new.............
always enjoy coming here for dinner (we live in Santa Clarita ), so
when we have an opportunity to come to Beverly HIlls to the Wallis Theater, we like to have dinner at Gratitude.
Another great experience. Food was great. Nice presentation. Super service.
Excellent service, healthy food.
The playlist was great!! Same with the buffalo coli
Excellent food, nice atmosphere, attentive wait staff.
We were going to the theater and didn’t have a lot of time so we sat at the bar and ordered the mezza plate. The bartender was awesome. The food was great in both presentation and taste. The restaurant is beautiful and the cost was reasonable. Highly recommend!
Over several years we have enjoyed early dinners here before or after a show. This time the menu was very limited. We shared the mediterranean mezze plate with bread (added charge) and found it to be very good. From the entrees I ordered shaved brussels sprouts with "delicata squash, hazelnuts, farro-lentil salad, thyme vinaigrette." What I got was a warm salad of roasted halved brussels sprouts, a few bits of squash, in a big pile of shredded kale. My husband had Pho which he said was very salty. I recommend checking the menu first if you haven't been to Gratitude for dinner in a while.
We always love it here. We were celebrating our 9yr anniversary. Weekend brunch this our fav place!
Do not like the new menu. It is two pages and only half of one page is food!
I don’t like that they keep shrinking the menu. Food is great but less choices each time I am there.
Restaurant claims we no-showed. We were there.
We went on a very cold night it was 48 degrees outside and it felt like 48 degrees inside. They keep their large door open which keeps the temperature inside so cold that they had to give blankets to the customers.
A pretty cute place located within Beverly Hills. The food is reasonably priced and has a variety of options for those who are seeking vegan options.
Can always count on Gratitude to have excellent food for the pickiest of eaters!
Yummy food, lovely service. I actually prefer the ambiances of the Cafe Gratitudes, but this was a nice change.
Nice and quiet late on a Sunday morning, even sitting outside. The gratitude "shtick" was enjoyable and even fun. The food was really excellent-- really interesting and good for you, in the most interesting way possible. At brunch they had both breakfast and lunch items-- which meant we could each choose which meal we were having (or both). Be aware that it is vintage Gratitude-- the sauces are not sugary and the flavorings taste homemade, not like store bought. For some of us, that's a great thing, but some of your fast-food friends might not feel the love.
The server was very helpful when I told him how much I hate cilantro.
The server was nice but the food was no where as good as the location in Venice
I wouldn’t go back as there are too many yummier options near there.
Delicious food that happens to also be 100% organic and plant-based. If your friends are plant-based skeptics, take them here to discover great plant-based food!
Amazing. My wife and I received this as a recommendation from our hotel concierge!! It was our 4th wedding anniversary and we were so pleased. Food ambiance and overall great place. We will be back!!! #veganlife #gratitude #awesome thanks from the McConnells 10/18/19
The food wasn’t spaced out right even though we placed the order all at once. The food got completely cold unfortunately :(
Let me first say that this is my second time at this particular Gratitude restaurant.
Very nice dishes, interesting, and varied menu. Small wine list, but good cocktail list.
Waitstaff was very nice, engaging.
2 things that detract from this Beverly Hills restaurant:
1- You cannot get away from the noise level. When you go out with friends, you want to hear the conversation. The music is a bit too loud to enjoy conversation. I know it’s hip to have music blaring, but there should be a place somewhere that we can enjoy each others’ company/conversation and not just the lovely lively music.
2- The bathroom (women’s) was atrocious. We opted for an early dinner (6:30p) because one friend had just flown into L.A. and was basically meeting us right off the plane. I never expect a restaurant, let alone a restaurant in BH to have a restrooms that not only was filthy, but no toilet paper to be had. I actually felt less clean after visiting the restroom to wash my hands. It reminds me of an interview of Wolfgang Puck I once heard. He said (paraphrase), “...If the restaurant does not have a clean restroom for it’s guests, it shows they have no regard for their guests.”
Lastly, we asked about the “B” rating that was received by the health department and were assured it had nothing to do the the food, however, after experiencing the restroom, I’m not so certain.
The staff was very inattentive. Plates were not cleared in a timely manner and the delivery of the food was all at once for a party of 4 which left no room at the table. The food was great but it just leaves a bad feeling about this restaurant.
I had scheduled a business luncheon reservation four days in advance.
On the day of the luncheon, 45 minutes prior to the scheduled reservation, Cafe Gratitude called me to tell me they were closed for the day. On inquiry, they had told me they closed on the day prior for maintenance needs. However, they only called me 45 minutes prior to the reservation and were at a loss to provide me with suitable alternatives in Beverly Hills. Instead, the caller reached out to the Manager which after 5 minutes on hold suggested a restaurant more than 30 minutes away. Truly an unbelievable nightmare with seemingly incompetent management who had no foresight to reach out more than 45 minutes prior to my reservation; despite knowing for more than a day prior that they were closed for maintenance needs. A new low for anyone's important business dining needs.
Great that they offered a special holiday menu, both as a pre-fixe and as an a la carte! Pictured is a wonderful new item on the menu, Blessed / Blackened Tempeh Bolognese, which can be ordered as either gluten or gluten-free. All items on the menu are vegan and excellent.
I would recommend Gratitude for its vegan menu. Everything we ordered was delicious and satisfying, and our salad was both pleasing to the eye and the palate.
Unfortunately, the service was disorganized and required us to repeatedly ask our waiter or another passing wait staff to follow up. Our drink orders did not arrive before the food, and it took 20+ minutes for the food. First the salad arrived and while we were still enjoying the salad, the hot entrees arrived. Still no beverages! And we had to request spoons for dishes that required them. Finally, the two glasses of wine and one cocktail were brought to the table. The staff apologized and ultimately comped the beverages.
The saving grace is that all staff, from host to waiter to bar tender were uniformly friendly and gracious . . . they just need to get their service protocols organized!
Food and service were very mediocre
Café Gratitude is a fabulous vegetarian restaurant. The food is delicious. You do not leave feeling hungry. Everything is absolutely tasty. Lots and lots of Gluten free options, which is my preference. The nonalcoholic drinks are tasty and good for you. I love the Beverly Hills location. The indoor outdoor setting is comfortable and relaxing.
Le meilleur restaurant de Los Angeles ! Merci et à bientôt
Gratitude has repeatedly adjusted its menu by removing some of the better items, therefore limiting the range of flavors in its repertoire. It used to be one of my favorite spots to visit due to the beetroot ravioli and risotto (both were removed), but now I will not be going back. Patrons are limited to a mediocre Bolognese or an assortment of dishes all with heavy use of mushrooms. I hope they make some changes or they'll continue to be fairly empty, like they were on the Saturday night that I dined there.
I had the chicken and waffles which was gluten free, but the waffles was cold and hard. NOT COOL
