I never know whether to order the burger medium rare or medium. At times when I order it medium rare, it’s to rare. I ordered it medium, but it was at least medium well. From now on, I will order it medium rare. I can always have them cook it more. When the burger is cooked to my order, it’s among the best burgers in town.
we enjoyed the fact that it was not noisy so we could enjoy our conversation....there were only 4 of us, but sometimes places are so noisy you can't hear the person next to you, never mind across the table.....Food was great....Waiter was excellent!
The food, service and atmosphere were all very good! A little confusion on the bill was handled promptly by the Expo employee. We had a good time.
Great spot just off the Plaza. We had the Marlin special and Salmon. Special order of Brussel Sprouts since they weren't on the menu.
Patio is nice and quiet for outside evening dining. Service was too notch.
The food is always great and Dione was an excellent server. Outstanding service!
I thought the restaurant would be good for whatever the reason might be. We had excellent service and a great time! Thank you~Catherine
Service was excellent we were the only table in the restaurant and our server went the extra mile to make my Dad's birthday special
We had brunch here Sunday. All three of us found our entrees to be awful. The appetizer buffet was quite good except the salad had quite a bit of brown lettuce in it. It was not a good experience.
The Grand Street is my "go-to" place for meeting friends. The wine, even the house wine never disappoints. The preparation and presentation of the food are amazing. The staff is friendly, professional, accommodating and knowledgeable about the menu. I love this place!
Service always personal, new menu items delicious. A favorite of ours!
So why no OPEN TABLE points? That's a new one on me?
The food and waitress was excellent. Macy knew the menu and was able to answer our questions. Best waitress!
The food is always wonderful and Sharon made the lunch meeting even better. She was friendly, welcoming and kept her eye on us. Quick service and the salmon salad is soooo good !
This is a crazy week when I will be there three times in five days, so I wish they had a frequent diner card ! Be sure to ask for Sharon as your wait staff if possible and enjoy the meal.
Love Grand Street. It was particularly hot tonight and still 75+ degrees in the restaurant. The service was good and the manager stopped by to greet us. One of our KC favs.
We went to brunch for father’s day and it was overpriced, but delicious.
We are never disappointed with Grand Street. The food, staff, and atmosphere are very conducive to a wonderful meal and evening. We fully recommend it for any occasion.
This is one of our favorite Kansas City spots - the food is always excellent and creative. My husband said his scallops (the special that night) made his top ten list of best dishes he has ever had in his life!
Wonderful as usual.
I had salmon on salad my husband had the salmon main course. Both of our pieces of fish had a thick coat of salt on them. Ruined the salmon. Our waitress, Keyawna, took our complain to the manager and our meals were discounted, so all is good. Customer service as it should be.
Half-price wine on Thursday is a great deal! Lovely atmosphere in this restaurant. A bit loud by the bar area, but we were given a quiet area.
Unless you like really salty food, make sure to ask for no salt.
As always very good food and great service.
Always a great place.
Here (our former home) from our new residence on Lake Chapala near San Juan Cosala, Jalisco, MX. Our food was excellent as always and, speaking as a former resident of the Napa/Sonoma area, your wine list is quite varied and WONDERFUL. Though very new in her occupation as waitress, your Kramer was lovely and polished in every way. We shall look forward to being with you when we return in May 2019. CHEERS!
Had Bill’s Chicken Salad. Excellent. Great business lunch spot
Sunday brunch on the patio. Beautiful. We were the only ones out there and our server was very attentive.
They had to re do our eggs 3 times still not good.
Used love to love this place and the 6 Bloody Marys now only 1. Too much change thst isn't working...
Food and service was very good
We love Grand Street but really miss two items that were taken off of the menu. The steak salad and the scallops. Both were my primary choices.
It was a wonderful lunch with friends. The food choices were good but a vegan would have a difficult time. I want to take my grandchildren and daughter who are vegan. They would order a baked potato, a vegetable and a salad. A veggie burger would be nice... I may take them anyway.
Went Mother’s Day evening. Had a reservation and was seated in a booth across from the kitchen entrance. Lots of noise - souls chefs yelling, pots dropping, etc. should not have put seating in that location. Service was excellent, food above average. Kind of surprised with the laminated menu for what is supposed to be a higher end restaurant. Menu said Sunday was half-price wine bottles. Got a bottle. When bill came it was charged at full price. Asked about it and told not applicable on Mother’s Day even though on the menu. So, decent meal with good service, but everything else was off putting.
We came to Grand Street for Mother's Day Brunch and can't say enough good things about the experience! The ladies out front were lightening-fast in seating everyone, our server was extremely attentive, and the buffet was excellent. We sat on the patio, which was an awesome little area. I would definitely recommend taking in a holiday brunch here!
My wife and I always enjoy Grand Street. food is outstanding and service is usually great.
They were understaffed for lunch and made the dining not a superb as usual.
however, when the waitress learned it was our anniversary she did great.
waiter was awesome. Table wasn’t in a desirable area at all. aim not sure why I didn’t refuse the table and wait for one in a better area, not so close to the large party room.
We have been to the Grand Street Cafe on the Plaza several times. Each time we have enjoyed the food and the ambiance. Our meal was excellent as was the service. I would highly recommend this fine restaurant that is just slightly out of the traffic of the main Plaza area.
The food was great and the price quite reasonable but considering that there were only two other tables in the restaurant occupied the service was terrible! We were left alone for quite long time periods and the food took forever, once we finally gave our order, to finally come to the table. I’m not sure if I will ever want to go back to this restaurant due to the deficiency in the wait staffing. I brought some out of town guests here and it was quite embarrassing.
The manager made me feel awkward and unwelcome.
Fun brunch near the plaza. Good variety on the menu and buffet. Strongly recommend reservations as it tends to be very crowded.
Went here for brunch, had reservations a week in advance for a very special brunch with out of town family. Very chilly morning and was seated in front of door to patio which was constantly opening with people going to buffet. Our table was freezing and made our food cold. Had to wear our jackets. Mimosas not good. Chorizo was black and burnt beyond ability to chew. French toast brûlée was either charred or still crystallized. Really bad experience. They did give us a free mimosa and took the burnt sausage meal off our bill.
My meal, the daily special was, as usual, very good. My friend’s pastrami sandwich was too dry to eat. He asked for some thousand island dressing for it but they said they didn’t have any. Come on. Even i could make that. The manager offered anything else but by then I was half way through my lunch so he declined. This is a good restaurant but management doesn’t seem very creative.
We were celebrating our Anniversary, dinner was great & the request for a nice table was met. Just wish we hadn’t chosen “Prom Night”.
