   On such an important occasion namely Xmas Day we deferred our celebrations to the Grand Hyatt and Gessner restaurant in Vail with great expectations of being offered some traditional food, decorations, musics and all which could have made this evening memorable. What instead was offered was a self service, cafe Terri’s food with left overs of probably previous lunch including salmon and half burnt prime rib with overcooked and over salted mashed potatoes and beans and carrots. The desert were only dry cookies and over sweet chocolate cake. The pre determined costs per person of 95 dollars with tax and gratuity brought the cost for two of us to 300 U.S. dollars!!! Wow?! Outrageous costs for a poor and indigestible food. What a waste?! What a waste?!

   Was there two years ago New Years Eve and the ambience and food were so much better. Food was not what would be expected from a nice restaurant. More like Bar food. Wait staff was slow and non observant. Loud and noisy for a nice restaurant. Ambience was gone. Not going back. Too bad used to be great!

   This restaurant was very disorganized. After we were seated, it took a while for a waiter to take care of us. It was almost an hour before we were even able to order our food. Then it took another hour for half of the table's soup and salad to come out. We waited another 30 minutes to get the other half of the soup and salad for the table. When our main dishes came out, it was cold.

    The dinner was mediocre for the price. They serve breakfast, and it was excellent. At the dinner price point it needs to knock you over, and it didn’t come close.
