Genius Lounge is established in 2009, is a full service bar restaurant serving Japanese inspired Hawaiian dishes. We were selected 2022, 2023, and 2024 OpenTable Diners' Choice Restaurant.

Our menus are created by Japanese experienced chef, using Hawaiian ingredients throughout our dishes.

We have some famous Hawaiian items; Tempura Sushi, Fresh seafoods, Steaks, Salads, Pizzas, and Original homemade noodle dishes!!!

You can pair those items with our extensive drink menu such as Local Beers, Sakes, Wines, and a lot of original cocktails!

It is perfect a place to enjoy a low key night with friends or a romantic date in the heart of Waikiki.

We also accomodate private parties. We have a quaint private lanai space and 3 party courses for your private party. It is also a perfect place to enjoy your wedding party in Waikiki.

We had been here last year while vacationing and loved it. We came for happy hour and sat on their small upstairs deck. We did the same this time. Unfortunately, the service was average at best. I think they were much more concerned about a special dinner they were doing inside that evening. The food including the Kahlua pork nachos was amazing as usual and we also tried a tempura roll with ahi that was incredible. They do not open until exactly 5, so don’t show up early as you will need to stand on the street. I would still return next time we visit.

I ordered the ahi avocado roll and mochiko chicken. Both were good, nothing special and came in huge pieces. The roll had way too much rice for the topping imo. I left half of it on the plate which felt gross but it was too much to eat. I got a pina colada and house sake and both were delicious. The service was almost too good. I ordered my drinks and someone else came out immediately and asked me for my food order which all came out quickly. Maybe because it was happy hour and slow and I was the only one sitting outside. It was overall good but I would order something else if I ever returned but probably would only go back for drinks.

Awesome food and good value, especially during happy hour. We really enjoyed the Kalua pork nachos and the ahi and salmon carpaccio. They squeezed in a high chair for our toddler too.

Love this place. Parking is tricky so you need to know about the parking lot directly behind the restaurant. Other than that, the drinks and food are so tasty. Our waitress even suggested something and she could not have been more right. We can not wait to come back.

The food here is fantastic - Hawaiian-infused Japanese food or Japanese-infused Hawaiian food, not sure which. Prices are reasonable. Cocktail menu goes on for pages and pages. We had sushi that defies description yet was wonderful, plus a surf-and-turf combo of ribeye steak and giant-sized prawns on a bed of mashed potatoes. Genius lounge is on the second floor of a building on Lewers. It's larger than you think at first. The furnishings could be described, at best, as "eclectic", and there's really no view to speak of - but it's comfortable, busy, and fun. Recommend highly, especially to locals.
