Baseball hats and flip flops. I thought this was a nice restaurant. If people are going to dress that way, they should be seated in the bar, not the dinning room.
The General Warren has created an outstanding outdoor dining experience! The patio area is an incredible place to take your wife/girlfriend/SO. Lighting, music, great service, and excellent food combine to take Date Night to another level!
Fantastic welcoming service-tableside Caesar salad excellent as was filet mignon and dessert ! Better than I remembered it from years ago
Our waitress Maureen, was very personable, efficient and most differently made this a great dining experience.
It was quite pricy but we all loved the food and our server, Maureen, was absolutely fabulous.
The ambiance and service were fantastic and what you come to expect from the General Warren. The food was delicious! The special menu was a little limiting but some accommodations were able to be made. Overall this is a fabulous place for a special occasion or just a nice night out.
I’ve been to The General Warren before and have always enjoyed myself and been impressed with the quality of food. Mother’s Day was an exception. It took 2.5 hours for them to get 3 drinks, 4 apps and 5 entrees to our table. Everyone in the room received their food before we did even when they were seated after us with similar sized parties. We thought maybe there was just a mix-up in the kitchen, so didn’t say anything. The Bloody Mary that arrived was so strong that it was undrinkable, so they brought me an additional cup of Bloody Mary mix to “water it down”. I order Bloody Mary’s at every brunch I attend, but this was literally the strongest drink I’ve ever had anywhere. When the food did finally come all of the meat was SUBSTANTIALLY OVERCOOKED. I ordered Beef Wellington medium; there was no pink anywhere in the meat and it was so charred under the pastry that it was inedible. The other two Wellington’s at the table were the same. I had a 2 year old with me bc it was Mother’s Day (btw he was wonderfully behaved and didn’t make a peep during the entire lunch), so sending food back and waiting another hour was absolutely not an option. I was truly disappointed with the quality and service we received this time, but I will probably still go back bc this bad experience was the exception and not the rule in my experience with this restaurant.
Great friendly service, very good food, great atmosphere
Whilst the location itself is lovely and the service excellent, the food was not great nor good value. Would expect much better at those prices!
Drinks and goat cheese starter were great. My halibut was dry and the dessert I ordered said it was made with puff pastry but arrived in a bread like dough which I did not enjoy. When I replied with these comments when asked "how was everything" I was met with silence.
Recently went to General Warren Inn for a milestone birthday celebration. Our experience was memorable, with excellent service (thank you Karen!) and scruptious meals all around. This is especially notable since one of our party is a strict vegan. We couldn't have been more pleased with the evening. We will definitely be back soon!
First time at the historic restaurant and we were truly surprised. Everything about the General Warren was excellent with accolades for the chef. Traditional dishes like Beef Wellington and others done with a flair. Highly recommended.
Very pleasant atmosphere, every staff member was extremely pleasant, the luncheon choices were perfect and each meal looked and tasted good. Friends had gathered together to share family, neighbors and health stories. We were given all the time we needed with no pressure to order or leave. General Warren is an extremely pleasant environment to dine.
Most enjoyable staff and atmosphere. Food was delicious. Cocktails were spot on!
Simply a great meal.
What a wonderful location! The food is always fantastic, the ambiance is spectacular and service is great. Very clean and neat. We go often for dinner and lunch. We've also stayed over in the sunits which are splendid! Looking forward to our next visit.♡
Beautiful surroundings, awesome and thoughtful service and fabulous food!!
Always a delightful dining experience at General Warren. Staff is attentive, food is excellent, and ambiance very pleasant.
Always top notch food, service and fun!
Amazing old world charm. Love this place and always stop when in the Malvern area. Not many places offer beef Wellington, and they do a fantastic job with it.
All parties made in house and delicious!
Great place for a date or special occasion. Haven’t dined outside, but the bar area on the patio in the back looks great too.
Great food, great service - lovely evening!
Top notch food and service. Remembered our special occasion with a personalized dessert. Cannot wait to go back!
We enjoyed a cocktail in the bar prior to sitting down for a lovely meal. Great bottle of wine with our dinners. We started with a Caesar salad made table side, one of the few remaining restaurants to do that! I had the halibut which was delicious and schnitzel was very good too. Pleasant service and love the historic value of this beautiful building.
Service was over the top. I was disappointed in the food. It has always been the best in town. My lamb was a little tough and her sword fish a little dry. Not up to your normally spectacular gourmet level.
The best lunch ever! It was a birthday celebration for my dear friend and it couldn't have been any better. MY friend was over the moon! Keep up the good work!
we have dined at the GW many times and have always enjoyed the food and service. However the kitchen this evening was not on point. They overcooked my wife's filet twice at which point we were done. They did not charge her for her meal, however the evening was over.
Excellent, as always. Never had a bad experience at the General Warren.
The team at the General Warren know how to deliver a completely satisfying dining experience. The quality of the food is outstanding, the staff is welcoming and attentive and the ambience is perfect.
Our server, Maureen was indeed outstanding, pleasant as we enjoyed our dining.
Food was excellent as was the relaxing time spent eating and sipping our wine
The appetizers and entrees that we selected were excellent. General Warren Inn has the best Snapper Soup in the area. Bananas Foster prepared at table side was also excellent. Our waitress was great. Looking forward to our return visit.
Fantastic food, ambiance and service. Never disappoints.
GW is great. Sandy waited on us and she is FANTASTIC.
Loved the porch on a sunny spring evening! Wonderful service, food, ambiance. Our friends want to join us there again!
Lobster pot pie was amazing. Service great. Extensive wine list. Attentive staff
Our entire experience at The General Warren Inn was phenomenal. We've searched high and low for a wedding venue that feels right, needless to say we have been less than thrilled (for one reason or another) up until now. The Spring House Terrace's romantic ambiance, incredible food and impeccable service is remarkable. We can't wait for our upcoming wedding. Thank you Tim for being so hospitable at the drop of a hat!
The whole experience more than met our expectations. Dan, our server, was terrific, as was Kim with whom he was teamed that evening. We will certainly not be strangers to the General Warren Inn.
The service is very good and the place is lively. The sauces were over-salted, the roasted potatoes were mush, and the beef wellington crust was way under-baked. Good wine selection, great dessert.
Our Host, Server, and Inn Keeper were all amazing. This was a wonderful evening.
Thank you so much to the manager and waitress who helped me navigate my handicapped friend into the restaurant and seated, and then into my car after dinner. I hadn't been able to get my friend out of the house for months after she suffered a disastrous fall and I wasn't sure I could handle her difficulties. The staff at General Warren went beyond the call of duty in helping me. Aside from that, the meal was excellent: I loved the snapper soup and the beef Wellington; the latter has been a favorite of mine but is rarely offered in restaurants. My friend enjoyed the halibut. Again, my appreciation to the manager and waitress for their incredible kindness.
General Warren is lovely, the setting is perfect for a special dinner. The downstairs and side "sun room" are especially attractive. Unfortunately our server left a lot to be desired. Even before we had settled into our seats or looked at the menu, she was at the table asking what we wanted to drink. We asked for a few minutes to decide; when she returned she told us the specials and started to walk away until we called back to order drinks. Cocktails arrived one by one (for a party of 4), 3 drinks were so haphazardly put on the table they spilled on menu and table. Server did not notice or comment. On the upside, the food was good as usual. The trout entrée especially received positive comments. We all had been at General Warren on other occasions and will probably be back again and hope we get a different server.
