My experience at Guardunos is that the draft beer is warm, so I specified that our two Negra Modelo drafts be served in frosted glasses. The beer arrived warm in unfrosted glasses as usual. The beer was the right color for Negra Modelo, but it was not Negra Modelo. We drank it anyway.
The food and ambiance were good and the service pleasant.
Decided on outside dining. Just a bit too warm as it turned out.
Service started out great. After we had our meals, the check ins became sparse -- adequate but sparse.
Good food and friendly service.
Even without the sunset it would have been a great evening. Adding in the sunset and moon rise it was off the charts. Emma was fantastic!!! Can’t wait to come back
It's a beautiful restaurant and everybody and everything was perfect.
Forgot how lovely the outdoor space is here. The tables were very well social distanced. Sanitizers throughout the entrance. Shrimp fajitas were really good. Our service was good as far from the kitchen as we were. If you are looking for a great spot to meet up and catch up with a lovely outdoor setting with minimal noise, good food and service and trellises, archways and water features that truly provide wonderful ambiance this is a solid choice. We enjoyed it and will be back.
It took them almost 10 minutes to acknowledge us at our table and asked for our drink order and give us chips and salsa. It did take a significant amount of time for us to receive our food and some of it was cold. The manager did come over and apologize and comped our meal and the waitress took the responsibility of not acknowledging us right away. It is a really beautiful area to have dinner or lunch but I was a little disappointed in the service and the food. However we will give them another chance.
Great patio. Great service. Great food.
Terrible service. They gave us our dinner for free.
Great experience considering the times. They could add other cocktails besides tequila based drinks to make it better suited to those who do not drink tequila based cocktails.
Outdoor patio seating. Great location and service. Food was up to Garduno's standards - plenty of flavor and visually appealing
A business colleague and I met for lunch at Garduño's on a quiet winter's day in February. The staff went out of their way to accommodate our dietary requirements and couldn't have been more friendly or helpful. The food was fantastic with quality ingredients and generous portions. We'll be back.
Our server was very unhappy and definitely did not want to be there. We ordered an appetizer and it came after the meal when I asked about it. Trying to get drinks refilled was an imposition. Our dessert came with our appetizer. What they called Carne Asada was burnt roast beef. We had the worst service I have ever had in my 62 years. I would definitely not recommend this restaurant to anyone.
I am usually a very generous tipper, but the server got nothing.
We were seated in the lounge area. Only two other parties were there. Two servers tended to the two parties while ignoring us. Not sure why. It wasn't that dark and we were seated a table away from the other party. We waited 25 mins watching while the two servers poured water, brought more chips, etc to the others. We tried to get their attention but nothing. Needless to say, we felt like crap, got up, and walked out. I did mention to the hostess we had reservations and on the way out, mentioned we didn't get served. Too bad, we really wanted to like this place. We walked over to Little Anita's and got the gold star treatment.
Food service and quality good. Hostess absent and we waited while other folks walked in and took tables. I had to go to the kitchen and ask for help.we were then told other folks had seated themselves at our table. We were then seated in the dark in another section of the restaurant. The lights were turned on but we sat another ten minutes before meeting our waitress. Our waitress was very good ( and in fact two of the wait staff who served at lunch the prior day were extremely good - Daryl and Leo). Both meals were very good as were the drinks. I did however cancel breakfast reservations for the next two days as they don’t seem to value or acknowledge them.
Excellent food, service, and atmosphere.
Convenient restaurant inside the Hotel Albuquerque! Great food and margaritas!!!
Food was ok, good chips and salsa. We flew in late and they were open. Not a place you say “this is amazing” and return to.
Great food. Terrific happy hour. Just a wonderful experience.
We were a family party of 9- elderly cousins 962-79) gathering for first time in many years.
The queso, guacamole and chips were great and tasty to start the gathering.
Food was cold- cheese not even melted on my enchilada nor on my sisters.
We did not cause a scene because food was not as important as being together - but afterwards Everyone said food was cold.
Very disappointing -
Food was great, service was a little slow, but didn't mind. Just enjoying the afternoon with family. Pricing on the meals was on the high side, but your are in Old Town....so we expected it.
I have always loved Gardunos and was pleased to find it located at our hotel. What a nice surprise and great benefit for the hotel as well. The food was wonderful, service was great and friendly. Breakfast was very good as well.
I am an Open Table VIP reservation. The dinning room was half empty and they seated me next to the bus station/kitchen door.
Server was first day and did not know anything about the menu items, and forgot several item. Some items never showed up at all after several requests.
Food was not well presented or prepared.
Server was not very attentive. Had to ask for water and to go boxes.
Ate three times at this restaurant and each time the servers were friendly, attentive and thoughtful.
The restaurant decor is charming—an authentic Mexican look and feel successfully was achieved.
Guests will expect they are in for a treat. However, the food was sub par. The beef chili stew was not at all tasty and I couldn’t get it down—just my taste of course. The breakfast pastries were like the ones you get when free breakfast is included, starchy.
We loved coming to town and going to this place. We are from Minnesota. The server was especially welcoming and told us about some food items on the menu. She also talked about the happy hour specials. She was wonderful!!!!
New Years Eve Dinner
Very odd experience with a ridiculously slow server at first. Eventually the manager swapped him out after complaining but the damage was done. They did also take some off our bill, but again, really set a bad tone.
My son visited me from CA. I am glad l picked Garduño’s for our specisl dinner. He loved the atmosphere and the food was outstanding. I would not be surprised if he wanted to come here again the next time he visits👍👍👍
Food and service were excellent. However, the hostess did not have our Open Table reservation when we arrived. We were lucky to get a table.
Had a horrible time. Terrible staff, and time trying to enjoy a meal in a timely manner. Table was full of honey and sticky all over. Took 20 min to get someone to clean up. Brand new wrapped silverware sticky with honey and had food on it. Will not return or recommend to anyone.
Sat outside on the patio for dinner. Enjoyed the lovely landscaping. Margaritas are outstanding and dinner was plentiful and very authentic. Definitely would return.
Not impressed with this restaurant. The food was very mediocre, cocktails expensive and not very flavorful. The restaurant was dark and did not have inviting ambiance. Although it was convenient since we were staying at the hotel I would not eat there again.
The staff was friendly, but the restaurant was not busy so they were able to be attentive.
New to Albuquerque. Highly recommended by many locals I've met and wonderful food!
When we got there with reservations for 11, everything was ready. We started with ordering some cocktails which took about 20 minutes to get. We then ordered our food, which that took 40 minutes for us to get our food. The restaurant didn’t seem busy but the drinks and food were extremely slow. Once we got our food, the food was great. Our waitress was very sweet but it would of helped if she checked on us more often and let us know that our food was coming. We will go back because it may of been just an off day or maybe they were short staffed.
Disappointed. Mediocre at best. Poor service and food.
Drove 300 miles from Amarillo that day and made reservations well in advance after researching the area. When we showed up on time we were told our reservations did not get to the restaurant and they get lost frequently. When I asked about my request to sit outside on the patio I was told it would be about a 20 minute wait. It was obvious there were open tables, but they did want to seat anymore people outside for some reason?
We did not want to wait and were taken inside to a noisy table next to a party of 10 and the kitchen and bathrooms. The service was fine and food ok, but a disappointing experience at an otherwise fantastic hotel...
Our meal and the service were excellent however I want everyone to know that Garduno's does not take reservations from Open Table and when we arrived they were initially not going to honor our reservation. After asking to speak to the manager a table magically appeared. I ask both Open table and Garduno's to clear up their relationship so that this won't happen to anyone else. My mother is 84 and it would have been horribly disappointing for her to be turned away on Mother's Day.
We were searching for authentic Southwestern cuisine and decided to try Gardunos based on reviews, and it did not disappoint. The food was authentic, the ingredients fresh, and the service exceptional. Although one person in our party found the food a little spicy, the rest of our group thought it was perfect, so if you don't like any spice in your food, you may want to consider what you order.
If you are at the hotel, this is an option for you. The food is SW so if you are in AZ this si the normal cuisine. Neither good nor bad.
Terrible service. People that came in after us were waited on before us. Then when we finally ordered it took forever to get our food and it was lukewarm at best. We had a group at the hotel and had breakfast at Garduño’s each day. The wait staff was better but the kitchen was very slow. Once again people that came in after us got served before us.
