This is our second time at this restaurant. Four out of five of us are Louisiana natives and think this restaurant is pretty authentic. The hurricanes are great. We love the slap yo mama appetizer, especially with the alligator. The oysters are great, both raw and charbroiled. We also had the jambalaya, red beans and rice, etoufee, and Cajun pasta. All were really good. The beignets were too dense. Go for the bread pudding instead.

I was born and raised in Louisiana so I am being very critical of the food. The pan roasted alligator was delicious but the jambalaya was soupy. They were not prepared to serve crawfish etouffee so I ordered shrimp etouffee. I was not pleased. If a restaurant is going to claim to serve Louisiana food then they should either learn the recipes or have a native chef in the kitchen for authenticity.

Staff very friendly but prices over the top. We had no alcohol. Got charbroiled oysters that were neither the size nor quality of what we experienced in New Orleans. I had a Caesar salad to which I added chicken since the protein in the oysters was so scanty and varied some of it home. My friend and I split this lunch bill. My half with tip was $60! I rarely spend that for dinner, let alone lunch, and given no alcohol, hard to believe. Bottom line: Too rich for my pocket book. I wish them well but won’t be back.

I did not like the food selection. Everything on the brunch menu was heavy. $10 bloody Mary's were just ok. Drag shows are sometimes obnoxious but this Drag show was obnoxiously loud. I won't be back.

The menu (and description) for this restaurant was somewhat misleading, to imply a medium-high end restaurant. It was OK as a very, very casual place; did not offer any of the wines listed online, nor any "brand name" hard liquors. Also, our waitress was very new at her job, and couldn't answer any questions without going and asking someone. But it had a pleasant (casual) atmosphere, nice high old ceilings and brick walls.

Was really excited about Cajun in Boulder, but no... I like the concept of the open kitchen with the look of the bayou, but the food was just not there. My shrimp and grits was just kind of a big blop of grits with slightly chewy shrimp, not the luscious dish this can be. Partner's gumbo was extremely ordinary, too much rice. Sorry! Maybe they can improve.

Food was ok. We’d go back for the charbroiled oysters. The etouffee and gumbo were nothing to write home about, but not bad. Coffee was lukewarm.

I was surprised by the low quality of the food. Most of what we ordered was not suitable to eat. The kids meals were so over fried they remained un-touched. My husband’s steak was frozen in the middle. My etoufee was nothing more than white rice, a can of tomatoes with some soggy sausage. Not good. I spent 6 weeks in New Orleans and I know Cajun food. This was not even close. Sadly, avoid.

Oysters had very little brine because they had been poorly shucked and/or because they were placed on the ice in a tipped position. Had to ask for lemon wedges, which the bartender grabbed from a jar with his fingers. Fried okra - no better than what you'd find in the frozen food section of a grocery store, with a dipping sauce that tasted like ketchup mixed with mayo. Shrimp and grits - huge pile of grits that needed way more salt, bits of sauteed onions and green peppers, and a handful of shrimp that had an oddly soft texture, reminded me of the kind of peeled and deveined shrimp you get from a chain restaurant salad bar. Gumbo - thin and a bit gritty, like it was made from a box mix and not with a proper roux, with chicken that tasted from a can and unremarkablely tasting soft slices of sausage. Even if it had tasted good, they charged $8 for a about 3/4 cup. Etoufee - bizarrely looked like a chowder and tasted like Campbell's cream of something soup. Also $8 for a 3/4 cup, with a pile of rice in it. Beignet sampler - 3 large, doughy, oily fritters, more like sopapillas, especially the one drenched in honey. The chocolate syrup tasted like Hershey's. One of the worst meals I've ever had in Boulder.

Great food and great service, our bartender Chris made some amazing drinks, above and beyond the normal.
