Pleasantly surprised by the ambience and food at this place. I'll be back. The French and Japanese influences are apparent.
Love this little 'gem'. Food is wonderful. Just wish there were more wine choices.
But I will keep going back....and back....
What a lovely little gem tucked away in the heart of Palm Springs! I almost don't want to give a glowing review for fear that it'll become TOO popular. Haha! I kid, because I want this sweet spot to get all the business it can. A true mom-n-pop restaurant that deserves all the support and love. I came for dinner with my mom. It's a small menu that is prix fixe. Which means attention and care are given to create a bespoke experience. The portions are ample and so it felt like a tremendous value. Things to note: this is a more casual dining experience. Think vacation in Europe when you wander into a town and find a local spot that has tablecloths and flowers and the menu for the day/week that the chef-owner cooks and then the other owner waits on you. We felt like we were in someone's sitting room in their home. Please don't come here expecting French Laundry-style service. That is not to say the service isn't good, but don't dine here if you are entitled and want a team of people flocking on you and silverware changed every moment. There's a time and place for that kind of dining and this is not it. There is no wine list. The owner tells you what she has available that evening and we were happy with her selections. I imagine you can bring in your own wine too, but I don't know what their corkage policy is. Call and fine out. We had steamed mussels in a delicate curry, a grilled shrimp/mango/pink grapefruit/romaine lettuce salad, scallops with a saffron risotto, and lamb merguez with couscous. We finished with a chocolate mousse. It was all perfect and delightful. Not sure how much the menu changes, but I could eat these dishes over and over. Come here for a delightful, relaxed experience with great food, friendly staff and friendly fellow diners as well. Highly recommend.
The food was incredible and the women who I think was the owner was so sweet! 10/10 was one of my best (if not the best) meal I had in Cali. I had the bento box with salmon yum yum yum!
The sweetest staff, great food and love the area.
The food & ambiance was fantastic! Service also top knotch!
Sweetest lunch spot with the sweetest owners and staff ever!
Food is light, delicious and satisfying.
And the ambiance in the outdoor space? Cute and classy!
A hidden (literally) gem ... take it from a local!!
The staff were very friendly. We had a lovely table. My meal was attractive and fairly tasty. My husband's meal was bland and not attractive. Prices were a little more than average.
The owner is amazing and makes everyone feel comfortable!
The best people and food in Palm Springs..... 🐶😎
A hidden treasure. Asian-French will delight the palette.
Love the hospitality
Great fresh food ... the quiche is amazingly souffle-like. Wonderful bento box and salmon salad too.
Haven’t seen my friend in a year
I visited French Miso Cafe on my last full day in Palm Springs. The service, from the sweet owner to my servers, was impeccable. The food was incredibly fresh and filling, a great meal before strolling around the shops in the area. We were full but not sluggish.
I only wish I made a reservation for every day of my vacation.
What a find! The owner was so attentive and thoughtful. Every dish was amazing. And we loved the pretty courtyard
Delicious health menu. Friendly enthusiastic service.
We love French Miso. It's possible to imagine you are at a small cafe in a small French town, with good food to boot.
Excellent service, gracious owner greeted us by name (via Open Table, this was our first time there). Quaint atmosphere, felt very out of the way but easily accessible. I would recommend a few more breakfast selections on weekends.
The food was fabulous and the ambiance was lovey. A definite winner
Staff was very friendly. Excellent food and service
Yummy high quality food. A Japanese French blend. Nice service in a inviting courtyard. Definitely worth trying. Lunchtime only.
Everything is charming here - setting, food, owners.
This place is the best! Super cute, great food, excellent service- it’s a 10/10!
It was amazing! The food was great and the owner was so hospitable and sweet! A definite hidden gem and must go stop in Palm Springs
We tried twice before to have lunch here. The first time we walked out because after half an hour we had not been served any food. The second time we walked out because they didn't have the quiche which was the only thing on their rather unusual menu that I was interested. So we hoped the third time would be the charm. I ordered the quiche which arrived luke warm and was in individual quiche about 4" in diameter surrounded by a small salad - more an appetizer than an entree. The quiche was okay but I've had better. My husband ordered the miso soup which he enjoyed and a pork dish that was described as thinly sliced pork. When it arrived we were surprised to see that the pork looked like undercooked bacon. It was so fatty that my husband ate very little of it. He said the flavors of the rice and other ingredients were good but we were both very disappointed and will not return. The service was pleasant but that's about the best we can say.
Best Paiallard and Cesar.
Very pleasant restaurant! Extremely good service by the both the waitress and owner. Very romantic atmosphere.
Loved it! Felt very exclusive, food was amazing, owners were great! Menu changes weekly so we will deff be checking the menu every week for Friday/sat dinner.
Second visit! Food was excellent, fresh and delicious. Lovely non-crowded intimate courtyard setting..
We were dining outdoors because of Covid but the space is charming and we enjoyed ourselves immensely.
I've always enjoyed brunch at French Miso, but dinner is equally wonderful. Arrived for a 6 p.m. reservation with client friends who were a bit skeptical of the 3-course, choice of 2-entrees menu, but after the delicious first course (French Onion Soup to die for) and "Vol au Vent," (tender mushrooms with delicate sauce in puff pastry) accompanied by a bottle of French wine, we were eager for the main courses. I had Striped Bass done to perfection, and they shared both the Striped Bass and Chicken Nicoise: magnificent! Other diners filled the perfectly distanced, lush garden at 7 p.m., but they entered so quietly, we were unaware we were no longer alone. Tomoko poured a Malbec tasting to accompany the shared, light desserts (baked, spiced pineapple and a berry and cream pastry). We stayed until 9 p.m. and were made to feel welcomed, not hurried. The garden setting with lush bougainvillea and palm trees framing a full moon created a relaxing, French country ambience. Chef, Tomoko and our lovely server completed this perfect evening. I look forward to returning and urge those looking for a very special experience to support French Miso.
My cousin and I came for a birthday brunch! Very delicious food and absolutely out of this world service. We had reservations for 1:00 in the afternoon but when we got there a lot of the menu was not available. The food available was delicious! Hope to try the Japanese cuisine soon.
We were transported to the French Riviera last evening. Our hostess and server were tres manifique Simple fix prix delicious meal a be tasty wine in a serene little courtyard away from the noise. Lovely!!
loved the place . . . first time there and will go back . . .
