    Frances is always a hit - consistently incredible food and great service. I brought my mom here for the first time and she said: "Lots of places don't live up to the hype but this place does." My number one recommendation: always get the soup!

    We’ve loved France’s for years, and as it was open on July 4th, a return visit didn’t disappoint. Excellent food and a welcoming serving environment. Wonderful way to escape both the fireworks frenzy and the depressing state of our country on its birthday.

    Outdoor seating was a bit cramped. My dining companion and I both experienced the July 2025 tasting menu which was fun but felt very time consuming. I’m not sure if this was because we were outside vs inside but the length was noticed mostly due to being sat next to a loud, crass table who kept swearing. Really diminished the experience and the two different wait staff that kept serving the small outdoor area did noting to address this despite observing it first hand.

    I’m from the bay and have lived in San Francisco for 7 years. Frances is my favorite place to have quality time and a meal for an occasion. The tasting menu with wine pairing is incredible. I love the cozy but modern vibe and the food is fresh and unique and thoughtful.
