    We’ve loved France’s for years, and as it was open on July 4th, a return visit didn’t disappoint. Excellent food and a welcoming serving environment. Wonderful way to escape both the fireworks frenzy and the depressing state of our country on its birthday.

    Outdoor seating was a bit cramped. My dining companion and I both experienced the July 2025 tasting menu which was fun but felt very time consuming. I’m not sure if this was because we were outside vs inside but the length was noticed mostly due to being sat next to a loud, crass table who kept swearing. Really diminished the experience and the two different wait staff that kept serving the small outdoor area did noting to address this despite observing it first hand.

    This was our fourth visit to Frances, but the first since 2018. The food was better than we remembered. Everything was perfect, and ordering a la carte allowed us to share just the right number and variety of dishes and leave full. The house cocktails (vermouth-based) were great (Negroni and strawberry/rosemary spritz). Three starters (an amazing mango, the delicious beignets, and shishito peppers) were great, we split a fantastic corn chowder as well as a sea bass. We hope it won't be so long before we return.
