Great food! It was a wonderful experience!!
Food was not that good. Seafood was overcooked. Service was lacking and it wasn't that busy.
Team: super friendly!
You can't go wrong here, love this place!
Don’t bother. First time back since changed from Pirozzi’s to Foretti’s. Read about the changeover and how Thad Foret will improve service while keeping the menu the same before. Unfortunately both were worse & terrible.
The hostess sat the 4 of us right at the entrance to indoors seating. We asked to be moved to the table against the wall by the window. Were told someone had requested that table. So we asked for table at the other end of the wall. Were told she needed to check. We can see her directly in front of our table at the entrance where she stood and 5 minutes passed but no response to our request. Asked her again and she said she had to help other guests checking in before she could let us know. After she sat two tables of two did she finally let us know that it was ok to change to that corner table.
The server never introduced himself until we asked his name, which is James. The pieces of cubed bread he brought were hard as croutons. We politely and discreetly let him know by asking if the bread is supposed to be that hard. His response was that it’s supposed to be hard so that we can soften it up by soaking it in the pesto sauce that came with it. Did he really think we were all born just last night or fell off the turnip truck yesterday. He brought another dish of replacement bread, which were a little softer but was like over cooked toast. Nowhere near the tasty soft bread that was served when it was Pirozzi’s.
The black linguine was too salty, had 2 clams, 2 shrimps and 6 or more squid heads that were overly chewy. The Mamma Mia Meatballs had shrunken and was also too salty. The only saving grace was that our companions said the Linguine with Clams and Limoncello Taglierini was ok. The wine was ok but overpriced.
Good thing we didn’t get appetizers & skipped dessert by getting out of there as fast as possible. Don’t bother coming here. We were at Salerno in Laguna last Summer and it was so much better.
One of my favorites
We had a great time enjoying a family dinner on a Friday night. The restaurant has the closely packed indoors that gives you the excited buzz of being in a small trattoria in Rome or Little Italy in New York, but they also have created a tent space with tables much further apart for people worried about Covid. I have enjoyed both settings. Their menu is mostly classic Italian dishes, executed perfectly. The gnocchi was light and pillowy. The ravioli was cooked to the perfect texture. The sauces taste like they have been braised for more than a day with the complexity that comes from slow cooking. The service was excellent and felt personal. The price is very affordable for the quality of food you receive.
Delicious food and wines. Superb service from the moment we arrived.
Love it, definitely recommend it. The food was delicious.
This is a great restaurant with cosy/romantic ambiance and amazing food. Their pasta is one of the best in town! One little disappointment with our last visit though was getting baked ziti with only one meatball split in half. It didn't ruin my experience of course, but it was a little funny to see pasta with just one meatball. At least put two there:) Would definitely recommend this place for any occasion.
This is obviously the local favorite Italian joint. Crowded on a weekday night! The food was amazing (great flavor profiles) and the service was fantastic! Don’t miss out on this place.
Every dish ordered by everyone in our party of 5 was amazing!
The owner and his Team are amazing! I love the fact that they show you their appreciation, even we know they are super busy they always make time for you to say hello! I love that type of commitment to your customers!
And the food is delicious, never had a bad dish over the last 4 years!
Sat at a high top which was situated too close to the 6-8 topper.
Waiter staid right next to us in order to take order and serve food .
The noise level was ridiculous .
We enjoyed the food and had a great time. We went for a special occasion - my son's birthday - and the restaurant never addressed the occasion or acknowledged my son's special day.
Always good food and service. Great neighborhood gem
Another fantastic night at Foretti’s ! Food was perfection, the gnocchi melted in your mouth and their chicken Formo was perfection. Can’t recommend it highly enough!
Great appetizers, wine, and entrees. Excellent specials. Our waitress was very accommodating helping us get out food on a timely manner to keep the toddler at the table happy. The butternut squash ravioli is always a favorite.
Best restaurant ever! They food was incredible and the service was so fast!
Friendly staff, great menu and a good crowd. Never disappoints

Went there with visiting friends. Delicious food and service was great
Great martinis and calamari! The butternut squash is divine
Amazingly delicious food with great ambiance. Our server was pleasant, polite, friendly and provided excellent service. We highly recommend Foretti’s. Absolutely wonderful experience.
Always an amazing dinner. Service was great, and management is even greater. Love this place more and more with each visit.
Love love love the food, crowd and of course the amazing the staff!! Love this place - my absolute favorite Italian place in OC!! 🥰👏🏻🙌🏼:))
Tables too small and cramped
One of our most favorite places! The food is delicious and the service is always impeccable. Love it!
The food, wine, ambience and service are excellent. Pizza is unique and a authentic Neapolitan. Recommend it highly!
This is a great place. Be sure to try a little of all the areas on the menu. Salad, soup, pasta which is house made is all super. Only negative was the maraschino cherry used in the old fashioned when we really prefer the luxardo however it didn’t stop us from enjoying the strong drink made with quality bourbon.
Great restaurant! Food was superb. Nice ambiance. A neighborhood find. On my list every time I come to Newport. Tastes homemade.
We were celebrating a business victory. Was very happy that our host accommodated us indoors as we didn’t realize we would be eating in a tent outdoors.
This was our first time at the restaurant and believe me it will not be our last. the customer service was excellent the food was exquisite the service was impeccable. It was so nice seeing everybody in the restaurant enjoying themselves from couples to families. Thank you for a wonderful evening.
We love coming to eat here and recommend to all our friends, but felt service was lacking this time around. We came to celebrate our anniversary and our server was not attentive to our table. He didn’t really check to see how we were doing and when we ordered our food it came out very late. There was a large party at the restaurant at the time of our dinner, but we ordered our food before them and received our food after them. We also noticed that the server for the large table would check on their table multiple times throughout the night and provided quality customer service to the large party. However, I server would go missing for quite some time. It was just really disappointing as we came for a special occasion and it didn’t feel as such. Wouldnt recommend
Saher, my apologies for Marco's poor service on Monday night. I discussed with him ways , to make your anniversary feel special. One, should have informed the kitchen to move your order up before the 12 top was served, and he should not have disappeared like he did. When you feel the time is right here is my cell 714 749 3566. Call me and let me handle the reservations along with the bill. I appreciate that you recommend us to your friends and would like to serve you again. Best, Thad Foret
Great local spot for fantastic food, drinks, service, and ambiance!

Jen123, Thank you for the kind words and support!!! Best Thad Foret
