The staff were so nice and the food was good
Its definitely on the pricier side, but the food is very good. The numerous options and “buffet-style” are a nice change of pace from the other steakhouses downtown. Overall enjoyed the dinner and would recommend this place.
Service was little slow...
We came in and they had our table ready for us so we were seated immediately. Half of our party had not been to FOGO before so the process was explained clearly. The staff was attentive the entire night and would come back to check on us at just the right time. We ordered dessert and coffee. The cheesecake and flan were so delicious. We will be coming back! Thank you Fogo for being such a wonderful place for date night!
It took forever to get our meat.
Hands down worst service ever! My wife, child and I went there with my parents. Our waitress came and got our drinks for us. She then NEVER came back and checked on our table once. We had to flag down a floor manager a couple times just to get our drinks refilled. Horrible, horrible service..
The restaurant was very overbooked, our server was nice but didn’t provide basic things (plates, water) until we asked several times. There was also a large party next to us that was being over served and becoming quite intoxicated. We would never come back here
Dirty silverware and water glasses. Had to ask several times for a sever to come by with meat. Not worth $57.00
It was a busy Valentine's weekend, so I understand a little hiccup here and there, but we had a 6:30 reservation and waited over an hour to be seated. The restaurant was extremely crowded and loud and our service was extremely poor. The meats were tasty but it took a long time for the servers to arrive.
While the food was good, the service was slow and the table side meat service was really lacking.
We were seated directly next to the salad bar. Since it was so busy people were lining up next to our table. Literally bodies standing over us as we ate. It was awkward and made conversation and ambiance undesirable. We eat here often and have never experienced this. We now have a table we will refuse in the future.
Sad to write this review. I have been going to Fogo for years and it seems I continually tell myself that it was an "off night" and to try again another time. My last visit ended that nonsense. Fogo intentionally overbooks the restaurant to the point where someone should notify the Fire Marshall (on weekends) .
Reservations at 5:45. Seated at 6:45. Stuck in a back corner where we saw the Gauchos only when tables around us complained about poor service. (So in that sense, we saw them often in spurts; as complaints were frequent). We only received the table sides when we requested them...3 times, and only the bread. Oh, and some cold potatoes dropped off once too that had literally crusted over the top), The meat itself-- frankly all the beef selections taste exactly the same, and all are too salty. Tip--Be cognizant of what you wear too because on a over booked night, the Gauchos are in a hurry and they will get meat blood on your clothes. I frankly wear stuff I no longer care about.
The drinks-- don't waste your time on a specialty drink--they are overpriced and small. The wine selection or a draft beer is your best bet. The Salad bar-- if you are going for the overpriced THE FOGO® CHURRASCO EXPERIENCE which most of us are, you won't mind that the salad bar has dropped in quality year over year. But if your wife is like mine & orders the $35 salad bar only, she will mind. She'll mind that entire dishes are labeled but not actually there the entire 2.5 hour time we were in the restaurant. She will mind that the area around the salad bar in Minneapolis has been stuffed with more tables and there is no room & no semblance of a line--it's a free for all with people touching everything. And she will mind that the soup is cold with a layer crusted over the top. The wait staff-- I am sorry to knock them. They try hard, but Fogo overbooks and puts them at a disadvantage. To have to ask for water and sides and meat 5 times is bad. Not going back.
It was a great concept, with good food. It was so big and crowded. Hard to move through the tables. We were seated so far away from the food. The meat people were scarce, waited for them to come in our corner. I felt like we were on a cruise ship where they were making sure you got in and out and not slowing down to enjoy the experience. Too crowded and not relaxing.
Extremely crowded. Poor service. Will not recommend on a holiday weekend or probably attend ourselves again after having many good experiences.
Food was great but service not so much. Waiter sat us down and brought our bottle of wine then we never saw him again. We had to ask other waiters for help as they passed by. Additionally you pay for a wide variety of choices to be brought to you table. In our case meats were brought to two tables close to us but then the servers would turn a walk away without visiting our table. We complained to a manager who sent more servers our way but by then we had waited so long we were not really interested anymore.
We were not offered as much meat as before but we’re still satisfied with the quality of food and service so, really no complaint here. Thank you!
Very flavorful meats
We been many times at Fogo. Our last time was Friday February 14. The waitress was good always on top. But meat guys barely show up to uor table. We waited for minutes with our plate empty looking around to have another meat. And then it was pretty much the same meat over and over again. Really disappointed.
Great customer service
It was our two year anniversary and we were seated way in the back and they served the same meats. Special top sirloin and pork sausage. I was sadly underwhelmed. The lobster tails were soggy and disgusting. I wouldn’t go again. We barely were served any meat.
Lovely Valentine’s Day Dinner!
Tables were too close together, man next to us actually entered our conversation. Salad bar had poor choices for price and we had to ask numerous times for better meat and then a few kinds never even came to us. Super disappointing all around. Will not recommend or go back
Food was amazing, service was great. Our server Carlos went above and beyond. It seems pricy but the experience is well worth it
We should have picked a different day to go. It was extremely busy due to Valentine’s Day and missed out of the “normal” service and did not get served most of the usual meats. We had 3 come around to us.
The place is a trap for upselling ! Would you like 4 tiny lobsters"seriously the size of large shrimp" for a small up charge, that was $30... Shrimp 4 of them for $20 small upcharge.. I must have seen every bottoms sirloin and pork plate 50 times before they came over with tenderloin we requested 4x! The wine pours are VERY small and @ $15 per it's a little outrageous.. Go to Manny's or someplace else and skip all the stupid upcharges and be served instead of chasing down half of your meal at the salad bar....
My wife and I went to Fogo for Valentine's Day. Overall, it was a very good experience, good ambiance and fantastic food. In particular, we enjoyed the vast salad/fruit bar as the meal opener and the options to choose from a wide variety of meats that were served direct off the skewer (chicken tops my list). The servers were all professional, friendly and working fast which made us feel slightly rushed with our meal. We did experience a bit of a "gotcha" moment when the shrimp was not included in the meal price (the waiter did mention something very quickly but the tactic was to drop it on the table before you effectively had a moment to decline it - I guess it made us feel taken advantage of). The only reason I'd hesitate to recommend Fogo to others would be the very high prices. They serve a tremendous meal which was incredibly fresh and beautifully presented, but it felt like we were paying a large premium for the name and popularity.
Where to begin... Don’t go on Valentine’s Day! It is literally like an overpriced Golden Corral. Food was palatable but nothing special. Sirloin was tough, top sirloin tasted like liver. Very low quality meats. We were tucked in a back corner between 2 tables of 6 and the folks bringing meat around could barely get to us and didn’t make much effort. They were bringing around shrimp cocktails, lobster tails and some kind of liquor and not telling you it was extra. The styling is out dated, food is poor quality and service was poor. To top it all off they bring out your bill in an electronic folio with the tip set at 20% and proceed to stand there while you approve or not. Food and service were so poor had no problem dialing that sucker down. Will not be going back!
This was our third visit. The previous visits were excellent. This year NOT impressed at all. The overall food taste and quality could have been better and not consistent with the price. The ambience and lighting nothing impressive and it’s loud.
My only complaint is drink service we went almost our whole meal with nothing to drink our waitress was nowhere to be seen
Dinner started off with a major pet peeve of mine...ask for water and you'll get bottled water and pay for it without being told. The place was packed and very hard to walk around in. I heard numerous people complaining about their seating because other customers were continually bumping into them to get to the restrooms or salad bar. The meat was flavorful but dry and over-cooked for my taste.
Fogo did an excellent job providing a romantic atmosphere on Valentine's Day. The food was delightful, and the service was very good. During peak times, it may take a little extra time to get the cut that you are looking for. Would highly recommend!
Quieter than expected on Valentine’s Day. We decided to do an earlier dinner. It wasn’t chaotic like last year, when we went later in the evening. Which was very nice.
Upon arrival we were greeted with utmost respect and kindess but throughout our experience, we were left feeling forgotten and unimportant as a quality valentines day dining experience should not have included. Lacked the overall welcoming and ‘happy you’re here’ type of feeling you should comfortably gain from any restaurant. Food was good but the lack of decent customer service and experience was unacceptable and will not be tolerated. Not worth the money, time, or effort. Very disappointed and dissatisfied as we really had such high expectations for Fogo.
It was a nice experience but when I requested for meat it was never brought to the table. And they were passing around with food and drinks and they never came to our table. That was very sad but the salad bar was great!!!!!
I was charged for a bottle of flat water? I did not request for a bottle of water. Anytime that I went there always been water from the sink. It was a different atmosphere.
The meat was so good. I like the filet the best. Plus I received a coupon for buy one get one.
Fogo is our favorite restaurant. The price is a bit high but good place to go for special occasions.
Absolutely awesome! Mitch was fantastic!
Just a Great Place to go with family and Friends. Great food, customer service and fun.
