The food and service were great, some items a little too salty. My only issue is that I have a nut allergy and most restaurants do put it on their menu when something has nuts in it. I did not have a severe reaction. I would have ordered something else! Our waiter was great and everything else was all!

Great dining experience in Galveston. View from table was of the Pleasure Pier. Menu offered many great choices; seafood was fresh and well-prepared. Crowded but service was seamless and friendly. Will definitely visit again.

We were impressed by the amount of fresh fish on the menu, and very excited to order our lunch. Our first experience was the appetizer shrimp tostadas, listed as being made with chimichurri shrimp. There was no chimichurri to be found and instead they came with a surprise cream sauce (maybe poblano?) The waitress was helpful in exchanging the dish for us but then my order for redfish san luis, blackened came as just a pan fried redfish with none of the Mediterranean chamoula. Again the waitress was helpful and got me a side of the sauce, and overall the main course was pretty delicious, but by the end of the experience I was bummed from everything coming out wrong, and when we got the $115 bill for our lunch it didn’t feel like a great value. So for us, overall it was good, not great.

We had a good time - the food was okay except the shrimp in the shrimp cocktail wasn’t deveined so I had to clean each one before eating. Except for that it was good. Server was friendly and attentive. Our reservation was respected even though they were pretty busy. Would definitely return.

The positive- our waiter was excellent and outdoor seating offers perfect views of the beach and Pleasure Pier. The negative- dirty dishes are rolled back and forth to the elevator in downstairs bar and kept having to move because we were sitting by the elevator. One person in our party ordered iced tea. Another ordered a specific beer. They were told they didn’t have either. However when we were seated upstairs they had both. Upstairs bar was covered in dirty glasses.

Won’t go back $12 parking just to sit and have mediocre frozen food. Kitchen ran out of mashed potatoes and food was tasteless. Won’t be back

The food was really good! Drinks were too. Waitress was really nice & attentive. The broiled trio was so good! Best crab cake I've ever had. Oysters on the half shell were good. Spinach & artichoke dip was delicious. Pina Colada tasted really good too. No complaints. We've been here 3 times & will definitely be back!

Menu offers blackened as an option for all seafood dishes so we ordered Blackened then food was delivered grilled but not blackened and manager says that option is not really available from the kitchen. It’s just on the menu for fun. we failed to see the humor in it Ordered a double scoop on a waffle cone got a tiny kids cup with about an eighth of a cup of ice cream was told that’s all they had was told. If I wanted something different I could go downstairs and get it. We thought that might be something. our waiter might do.

Loved the location, however, the food was far from enjoyable. Due to the wait staff accent we had difficulty communicating and had errors in our order. We saved this place for our last night and wish we would have skipped it all together.

Food was good, service was terrible. Didn’t get our food until over an hour since we ordered. Didn’t come take are order for drinks or food when we first sat down. After 20 minutes we had to go up and ask where our server was and if we could order (forgot we were there). They also forgot one of our main entrees and we had to wait even longer for that one. When the food did come it was great, everything else was really poor.

We sat outside on the upstairs deck. This restaurant is across from the Pleasure Pier so it is naturally noisy, but not to the degree it negatively affected our dinner. We ordered a Blue Hawaiian and Mai Tai cocktails, the spinach artichoke dip appetizer, and red snapper and coconut shrimp entrees. All were prepared very well. The dip had much more spinach and artichoke than cheese, which is how we prefer it. Every part of our entrees were individually delicious. We found the separately served dip for the coconut shrimp overly sweet. Tabasco was a perfect substitute. Overall, this is a great find for a fair price. I feel it is rare to find a restaurant in a tourist-centric area with such high quality food and drinks.

We went to watch the 4th of July parade. That part was great, but the service and food were lacking. It has a cool vibe, but I wouldn’t go back unless I was just getting a drink and to hang out.

Had a reservation for 2 at 5:45 on a Tuesday night Got sat relatively quickly. We sat for 10-15 minutes before any one even noticed we were sitting there. Manager told a server to come check on us. We ordered two alcoholic drinks, waters and an appetizer. Waited another 15 minutes just for waters to be brought to the table and the girl said you’re server will be right over with you. Sitting right next to the bar, there wasn’t even a bartender in sight for the 30 plus minutes we were there. I also watched our ticket of drinks print and sit on the printer behind the bar for at least 10 minutes. Eventually we just got up and left. The icing on the cake, was every table that walked in after us got greeted immediately and had their drinks and appetizers out while we barely sat there with waters. What a joke. Will never be back.

Our waiter did not greet us, someone else did. When he did finally come around (15+ minutes later), he didn’t introduce himself. He did not check on us, never asked how everything was, nothing. One meal was delivered to our table by itself and it wasn’t until 17 minutes later, the rest of us got our food. Nobody could tell us where the other meals were in the meantime… just kept acting like they were busy with other tables and they didn’t want to help us. The service overall was honestly, absolutely terrible, yet the food was amazing. I will return for one more try…. Praying we get a server who enjoys their job and wants to make sure we have a memorable experience. I will point out that there was a female server who first greeted us and took our drink orders… she was wonderful!! It was sad we didn’t get to keep her. She checked on us the entire night, as if she knew we were not getting good service from our server. Props to her - SHE is pretty much the only reason we will return in the future.

It used to be a good place. Not anymore. Perhaps management changed, perhaps they just don’t care anymore. The restaurant is dirty. Food isn’t good anymore, staff attitude and moral is poor to say it nicely. Not worth stopping here any longer.

We visit Fish Tales the first night we come to Galveston every year. It’s always been great, but this time not so much. We sat and waited 15 minutes before our serve came to greet us. We order drinks (beer, glass of wine and 2 root beers) and food since we had sat there for 15 minutes. 10 minutes after that the drinks arrive along with my wife’s Garden Salad. Fast forward 45 minutes and still no food, server did bring us another round of drinks but never mentioned our food. We finally got another server to get the manager and he was cordial and apologized while the server stood there and said “It’s no big deal”. We will most likely be back on our next vacation but tonight was not good at all.

Understaffed so service was slow. Food took forever to get. Food seemed over priced for what you get compared to other restaurants in the area. Not as good as had been in past years. Not sure we will be back. Use to be a great place to eat.

Feel like the staff didn’t have the support needed to handle the large crowds over the weekend. Wait time for food and drinks took longer than usual. Roughly an hour. Items were forgotten and other items were brought in error.

We really had a terrible experience at Fish Tales. We did get seated promptly. Our waitress was nice but was not attentive at all. It took forever to get just tea and water and the grilled shrimp that 3 of us had c was tasteless. Definitely needed more seasoning. My plate came c with coleslaw and she didn't come back until we were done with the meal and then blamed it on the downstairs kitchen. We also didn't b get the tea refills requested and she c took 20 min to get our bill closed out. What the hell? I'm finished with this restaurant. Maybe v you guys need more help but when we left there were at least 6 staff members just v standing around talking and doing nothing. This place c needs a good manager to b take charge!

It’s the busy time of the year, so there were a lot a people. Pretty noisy, but didn’t mind too much. Had to wait to get drinks for a while because so many people. Food took a little long too, but was delicious! Just goes with the location and tourist season.

We sat outside on the top deck and the view was beautiful. Didn’t expect great service, because it was so busy, but it was awesome. The stuffed poblano, fried shrimp, and fries were yummy and our toddler had the best time!
