Fiori is a charming and cosy Italian restaurant and floral boutique in the heart of Montrose, led by chef Alessio from Rome. The restaurant is located in a cute two-story building, has a nice patio with lights hanging on the outside and a terrace; massive oak trees surround the building creating an unique atmosphere. The beautifully interior, decorated with fresh flowers, plants and paintings, offers a lovely and light ambience. Fiori focuses on using authentic traditional recipes. At lunch offers salads, pasta and Italian sandwiches. At dinner, Fiori transforms to a relaxed lounge atmosphere with a full bar and refined wine selection, where you can have a classic Italian aperitive and then taste a selection of true Italian dishes. We were really excited to try this place. We arrived at 7:50 for our 8PM reservations. The open table application required I give a credit card and appeared to hold my place and stated that if I didn’t show I would have been charged. When we arrived, it was as if they were surprised we even showed up. They said that they weren’t sure if they had a table for us and had to check on the status of parties. They offered us immediate seating at a small 2 top, but we were 3. We were a little early so we were ok waiting a moment. They had 2 gigantic parties for them (10 tops) and a wedding upstairs. They ended up seating us at an oversized two top table and shoehorned us into the middle of the restaurant in between the two huge parties. Our server, Emily, was trying hard but they were severely overbooked and extremely understaffed. She came and took our drink orders. There was one bartender for the entire restaurant so it took 30 minutes for our drinks ordered at the table to be served. I ordered a glass of wine and my father ordered a lemonade from the server. My husband had ordered an old fashion from the bar before being sat, which took 25 minutes to make. For a starter we ordered the pesto burrata salad. We cut into it and the pesto oozed out like it was going to be hot, but the cheese itself wasn’t melted, not even a little. The flavor itself was delicious. It was as if the kitchen was trying to rush something out just to hope to not get caught up in a complaint. After about 45 minutes after we were sat, we put in our entree orders. The restaurant started to clear out so we asked for them to move our table. They accommodated which we were grateful for because it was really claustrophobic and loud where we were. We proceeded to wait another 45 minutes for our entrees. The food was good once it came. Emily was trying hard. She did give us a discount. No manager ever came to apologize despite is asking for one.

Such a lovely birthday dinner! They even gave us complementary glasses of champagne! The Cacio e Pepe is delish! Will be back :)

Overall, the culinary experience is consistently at a high level; This time they forgot to get one of the side dishes we ordered, and we had to remind the server about it and had them take that out of the order since they failed to deliver the item;

We have been in search of a good Italian restaurant in Houston for some time. Well, we found it in Fiori’s! The food was absolutely top-shelf. The ambience was totally fresh with plants everywhere, which we loved. Our wait staff was the sweetest! Thank you Fiori family!

We were hopeful walking into this restaurant, especially with the chef’s background and the promise of authentic Italian cuisine. Unfortunately, the experience didn’t quite live up to expectations. Service was a bit disorganized—three different servers approached us to take our order, and no one seemed to know which table was theirs. There was also some confusion over the wine and beer list, which none of the staff seemed confident about. As for the food: we were in Milan just a few months ago and were really looking forward to something reminiscent of that experience. Sadly, the dishes fell flat. The pasta tasted like something from a grocery store shelf, and the tomatoes in the Caprese were pale, watery, and lacking flavor—nothing like the vibrant ingredients you’d expect from a place claiming Roman roots. To top it off, one of our ordered items never arrived, and it was never acknowledged by the staff. All in all, it was a disappointing experience. The intention may be there, but the execution—from service to quality—needs serious improvement. We left more sad than satisfied.

We opted for the 5-course tasting menu. Wines were great. And food was good. But the service overall was really off. Servers kept being food that wasn’t ours. But more importantly the servers kept being other courses too early. For example we had just received our first course when they brought out the 3rd and 4th. We said we didn’t want it now. And what about our 2nd course? We were being rushed rather than enjoying a pleasant experience. Our server was really trying yet she was working too many tables and those around her need a lot of instruction. Also the kitchen was at fault for preparing dishes too early. pushing them to bring out food too early

This was for our anniversary, and Fiori did not disappoint. Their tasting menu has excellent options, and each was prepared to another level. Even the olive oil is noteworthy! Service was understated but vigilant, just what we needed for intimate conversation.
