My wife had the paella and ordered the scallop addition. She received one (1) scallop for the added price. The scallop was well-cooked, and it went with the four clams and three shrimp, but that money for just one scallop? I had the Fig & Olive salad with the additional grilled chicken. I received a deep bowl (suitable for fruit with cream, or for 2 scoops of ice cream) plus a skewer of chicken. I should have flagged the waiter and asked for an entree plate onto which I could deposit the salad and the chicken pieces so that I could cut bites with my knife. The salad was supposed to have figs, but I could not find a piece. Both our dishes tasted good and we had good service.
Absolutely amazing service, it was my boyfriends first time here and we decided to come in for our anniversary. The kindness and genuine service we received was so welcoming and nice. And of course the food was just delicious! Definitely going to be back soon. Absolutely love fig & olive.
Service was mediocre to not very good...had to constantly flag down a server.
Food: we ordered 3 different crostini's: prosciutto was weakest, boring and almost tasteless
my paella was really good, but the salmon was mediocre and dry.
Always terrific, never disappoints. One of my favorite spots!
The service was attentive, but the food was so bland , no flavor, good if you like to post pictures in the social media because is very colorful. The seats near the restroom had a very strong smell, they shouldn’t put tables so close to the restrooms.
All in all it was very good. They tried to seat us in this back area that was noisy and drafty...twice but we eventually got sat elsewhere. Everything else was great.
Fig and Olive did not disappoint. Great scenery with the olive tree in the middle.
Very MIAMI like vibe.
Food was good. Very different than every where else.
Seafood was amazing.
The Fig and Olive Salad is a must try.
The Sea bass was great.
Will be back.
Everything was wonderful! I took my husband for a special dinner because he has been under a lot of stress lately. He absolutely loved it! He is a chef, and so it's hard to pick a new restaurant, but this was a perfect fit! He loved the lamb chops and finished off my Fig and Olive salad (which is beyond amazing). We look forward to going again for a special occasion.
I always enjoy dining at Fig & Olive. I especially love their Fig & Olive salad. The tables are so close to one another, so there is really no "privacy", so I would not recommend this restaurant for a date night if you're trying to get to know one another. The noise level is usually pretty high as well. If you want quiet and romantic, this is not the place for you.
Food was real good!
Great!!! Will be back!!!
We had a great experience. Staff was very friendly and the food was amazing. We will definitely be going back.
We were seated upstairs. Service was a bit less than, tho very friendly. Drinks ordered on the rocks were served up (fixed quickly, but still) courses were served slowly and in the wrong order (entrees before salad), had the paella, and it was a bit of a disappointment. Clams were over cooked, skimpy portion for the price. Definitely a bring down from our last experience. We brought our visiting relatives who were disappointed as well. If we do go again, we’ll definitely request a table downstairs.
we had nice dinner. Overall it was a good experience and we liked the restaurant very much. It did not wow us though. Food was great, Service was very good and ambiance is very nice. definitely a recommendation
Very good food. Grilled octopus was outstanding. Talented chef. Nice atmosphere. Hot spot for seeing celebrities although we went early and did not see anyone. Would definitely make this a regular spot if we lived in California.
Love this restaurant !!
Great food, great wine recommendation, great company
Our reservation was early so the restaurant was relatively empty. We were a bit surprised and disappointed as soon as we checked in because the host wanted to sit us at the closest table to the front door. There were many other tables available with less waking traffic, placed in a much more pleasant area. We requested to move only to be seated at a table with cleaned silverware covered in left over food. It was pretty disgusting. The host promptly replaced the silverware! The only other issue was our table top was annoyingly jiggling the entire dinner. At this point I was done complaining and hoping for some good food so we did our best to ignore the table! To our surprise the food was amazing!!! Thank goodness!! We left very satisfied!
Lindo comida rica pero el mozo un desastre
My husband and I experienced Fig and Olive a year ago and we loved it. The service and the food were exceptional. However, I wish that we could have said the same during our most recent visit. It took us two and a half hours to get our food. Once we got our food it just wasn’t as tasty as I remembered. The food was flavorless. The couple that we were with even complained that they tasted sand in their salad. We complained to the manager. To help smooth things be offered to not charge us for the dish with sandy salad and offered to give us free dessert. Seems like there was something going on in their kitchen the night we went. I would still be open to giving them another chance. I’m hoping that they resolve their kitchen management issues.
The food took one hour and 45 minutes to come out. The service was not great at all, the food was cold we had to send one dish back and when they brought it back it was still cold. This was our first time at this restaurant and it was a terrible experience
Although I noted it was an anniversary, there was no acknowledgement of that. The food was good, the waiter was a bit inattentive despite our arriving at 4:45 pm. Getting him to expedite dessert and the check so we could make our theatre time required flagging others on the wait staff who were busy talking to each other with their backs to all diners. I was also surprised to be addressed as "dear" by a busboy. This is not a neighborhood taco stand. The wait staff needs some coaching.
I have been to Fig & olive many times before and I loved that restaurant. But on Friday the food was very disappointing and I was very surprised. I will never go there again.
My wife’s birthday, was a relaxing and energetic atmosphere, food came quickly, tasty, was over a bit to quickly
Our experience was very nice. We had a few thoughts about the food we ordered, but they were not important enough
to remark about to our lovely server.
The food was cooked beautifully with good portion sizes. The service was wonderful with the staff all very attentive and courteous. Absolutely lovely decor with a great atmosphere - I went for a quiet meal
with a friend but very suitable for dates or special occasions.
Beautiful restaurant-great food and wonderful waiter!
Restaurant always has attentive, friendly waitstaff.
The menu though is predictable with little variance, but it's a nice neighborhood spot that looks to cater to LA visitors.
Hostess was MIA upon arrival and was seated by a nice waiter. MIA again when I went to remind her we were celebrating a birthday. Again, a very nice waiter made note of it and even let me select the dessert. Lovely gesture.
I did not appreciate the hostess offering to run the check charge only to return to let us know that the birthday dessert was comp'd. Did my birthday guest need to know he was getting free dessert? NO!
Food just ok
Excellent food with a marvelous dining room and good service, with only one caution to the disabled diner. There are three spaces in the restaurant. One is the main dining room. One is the bar area. One is the patio. At lunch, we were seated in the bar area, although throughout the meal we could see there was space in the main dining room. We felt isolated and also felt that the service was less attentive than should be expected in a restaurant of this caliber. We believe that we were seated there because one of our diners was using a walker. Although we did not ask to be reseated, we encourage future diners to request the main dining room.
Food was scrumptious. Service was excellent and ambiance was beautiful. We will dine back.
There was almost 1 hour delay to get the table, then another long delay for the food to be ready.
The stress in the restaurant between the employees was noticeable. I normally like the chain Fig & Olive very much and this was the worst experience in one of their restaurants.
We really do love this place. Food and atmosphere is great. The waitstaff is great and professional. The same can be said for the bar staff. The food really is good! Have not had a bad item! Definitely share - too many choices not to do so!
It's a very nice and cozy place.
Slow service and only decent food. Never received the bread with olive oil sampler after asking multiple times. Our waters were never refilled until the end of dinner.
We came to celebrate our daughter’s 18th birthday. Service was very slow and took a long time to get to us even though place wasn’t packed. Food was tasteless and 2 ordered had to be exchanged. Unfortunately it was a great disappointment after a great previous visit.
Will definitely go back
We love Fig and Olive in NYC, and our experience in LA was wonderful, especially the service, which could not have been more helpful and considerate. Food was fresh and delicious with plenty of emphasis on vegetables for the spring menu. The space is beautiful, and we opted to dine in the lounge and relax for a couple of hours before heading to the airport for a red-eye flight back to NYC. Highly recommended!
Also love the gluten free options on the Crostini, the Polenta crisp was absolutely delicious, which I had not seen on NY menu, but I imagine may now be available at all locations.
