Wonderful Father's day brunch. The salmon eggs Benedict was delightful, smooth holandaise sauce, great coffee, nice service and pleasant surroundings.
We love Fig & Olive. The food is yummy. It’s perfect for a date.
Great ambiance and food. Good wine selection
Really slow service. Had to ask for water refills several times. Had to flag down our waiter to order. Entrees came out luke warm (sea bass x 3) and one with a huge delay (chicken)... which only made the luke warm fish even colder. The size of the olive oil cake was literally "a bite". The waiter was apologetic and ended up comping desert. This was a very expensive meal for really mediocre service and food. We used to love this place. It's too bad.
My paella was delicious!
The service was friendly and attentive.
I was so horrified at the lousy service and aged restaurant. The service was just horrible, how many times should you ask for water? When it takes so long to clear appetizer plates that you end up having to move them, that's stupid. Unfortunately it took so long for the check and rather then wait for change, we ended giving a 25% tip. It was not for the service, that's for sure, it was so we could get out of there!
I saw the many reviews on this restaurant and decided to drive almost 2 hours to this restaurant for my birthday. The 3 appertizers we ordered were just mediocre. The jambon iberico was not very good in quality. I think my prosciutto from Trader Joe’s taste even better than that. We ordered rack of lamb, Moroccan chicken and short ribs as entrees. Both the chicken and short ribs were way over cooked and tasted like shredded paper. My lamb was smoked... ?? May be it is supposed to be like that but for me it certainly tasted like smoking and eating lamb at the same time. Sad! My family of three hardly touched the entree. We finished the bottle of wine quickly and left without trying their dessert. So disappointing. In addition, I don’t like the fact that they charged us $8 per bottle water on the 2 bottles water we ordered without letting us know that it is not free. And the first water bottle was already opened when the waiter brought to us and his hands are still wet...?! I was usually charged for water when we go to top restaurants in Vegas or 4-5 stars restaurants in LA.
One of my favorite restaurants in L.A. Always love the ambience, food and service.
The pizza for the kids was commercial, not even been hot as it should, and cost $11 , it in the size of around 5" ,unbelievable!
I didn't want the meat dish that was in the menu, so the the guy offer me another dish, he never said it's from the dinner menu and charge us $44 only for this item. The meat was very dry not medium -well as order.
We came over because of our friends recommendation and I love olive oil & figs.
It was for my wife birthday, I was disappointed, it was expensive and the food was not great for that kind of price we paid.
Even the special Fig salad barely had figs inside. I love figs, but you should call it green salad, because 99 % of it was leaves.
The chocolate cake was good though, and the espresso too, but too expensive for this one shot.
I know restaurants and I'm in a business of giving services for restaurants, so I can compare and know if they telling me that "one is olive oil, and the other is a orange flavored", it should be that way.... Both of them were orange flavor.
Albarquina oil should be different taste.
A bit pricey for what you get. Food was good and could have been a bit warmer. Same with the coffee, as it was on the warm side rather than hot. Service was good but then again the place was half empty which was a bit surprising. Probably will not go there again, as 'not worth it'
Bread basket was ridiculous very poor presentation and skimpy. Cauliflower was cold and took too long. Poached egg and salmon good idea execution was not great. Dish arrived cold. Beautiful room, attentive staff, food not great.
I went to Fig & Olive to celebrate my birthday. I was visiting from out of town to see my friends. The food was great and the ambiance was really chill with a nice vibe.
This is one of my favorite spots. Love the vibe.
Beautiful restaurant with delicious food. Our server Anthony really made the experience special!
Gracious hospitality is alive and well at Fig and Olive on Melrose. We certainly went for the food (smoked salmon crostini as well as the goat cheese to start, and to finish you must try the Bruleed Cheesecake!) but were blown away by the taste combinations and delighted with the options, definitely going back for that! Yet the ambiance and the generosity of spirit were notable. The GM, Bethany, where did they find her? She is professional, knowledgeable and down-to-earth and her understanding of fine dining is impeccable. I could go on about the great decor and cool vibe, but we were so taken with the welcoming, service oriented atmosphere that we wanted to highlight it. Thanks for a great evening!
An elegant, but relaxed, atmosphere, bright and airy. Excellent and friendly service, creative menu with plenty of options. The food was delicious and surprising from start to finish; a very good wine as well. Extremely expensive, but well worth it for a special occasion.
Great service all around thank you
My guest enjoyed the rib-eye and short-ribs, but I personally thought that your allegedly celebrated Branzino sea bass was underwhelming and bland. I actually took half of the fillet home to resuscitate it with some basic spices and had it for breakfast Monday morning with some scrambled eggs. Quite a disappointment! Next time, I'll stick with your red meats.
Spectacular. You must have the Brazino
Couldn’t think of a single negative thing to say about the food, service, ambiance, or anything. Everything was fantastic!!
I chose Fig & Olive for a special occasion dinner based on my positive experience at the Fig & Olives in NYC. Very similar ambiance. Food was great. It wasn't too loud. Will be back!
My wife had the paella and ordered the scallop addition. She received one (1) scallop for the added price. The scallop was well-cooked, and it went with the four clams and three shrimp, but that money for just one scallop? I had the Fig & Olive salad with the additional grilled chicken. I received a deep bowl (suitable for fruit with cream, or for 2 scoops of ice cream) plus a skewer of chicken. I should have flagged the waiter and asked for an entree plate onto which I could deposit the salad and the chicken pieces so that I could cut bites with my knife. The salad was supposed to have figs, but I could not find a piece. Both our dishes tasted good and we had good service.
Absolutely amazing service, it was my boyfriends first time here and we decided to come in for our anniversary. The kindness and genuine service we received was so welcoming and nice. And of course the food was just delicious! Definitely going to be back soon. Absolutely love fig & olive.
Service was mediocre to not very good...had to constantly flag down a server.
Food: we ordered 3 different crostini's: prosciutto was weakest, boring and almost tasteless
my paella was really good, but the salmon was mediocre and dry.
Always terrific, never disappoints. One of my favorite spots!
The service was attentive, but the food was so bland , no flavor, good if you like to post pictures in the social media because is very colorful. The seats near the restroom had a very strong smell, they shouldn’t put tables so close to the restrooms.
All in all it was very good. They tried to seat us in this back area that was noisy and drafty...twice but we eventually got sat elsewhere. Everything else was great.
Fig and Olive did not disappoint. Great scenery with the olive tree in the middle.
Very MIAMI like vibe.
Food was good. Very different than every where else.
Seafood was amazing.
The Fig and Olive Salad is a must try.
The Sea bass was great.
Will be back.
Everything was wonderful! I took my husband for a special dinner because he has been under a lot of stress lately. He absolutely loved it! He is a chef, and so it's hard to pick a new restaurant, but this was a perfect fit! He loved the lamb chops and finished off my Fig and Olive salad (which is beyond amazing). We look forward to going again for a special occasion.
I always enjoy dining at Fig & Olive. I especially love their Fig & Olive salad. The tables are so close to one another, so there is really no "privacy", so I would not recommend this restaurant for a date night if you're trying to get to know one another. The noise level is usually pretty high as well. If you want quiet and romantic, this is not the place for you.
Food was real good!
Great!!! Will be back!!!
We had a great experience. Staff was very friendly and the food was amazing. We will definitely be going back.
We were seated upstairs. Service was a bit less than, tho very friendly. Drinks ordered on the rocks were served up (fixed quickly, but still) courses were served slowly and in the wrong order (entrees before salad), had the paella, and it was a bit of a disappointment. Clams were over cooked, skimpy portion for the price. Definitely a bring down from our last experience. We brought our visiting relatives who were disappointed as well. If we do go again, we’ll definitely request a table downstairs.
we had nice dinner. Overall it was a good experience and we liked the restaurant very much. It did not wow us though. Food was great, Service was very good and ambiance is very nice. definitely a recommendation
Very good food. Grilled octopus was outstanding. Talented chef. Nice atmosphere. Hot spot for seeing celebrities although we went early and did not see anyone. Would definitely make this a regular spot if we lived in California.
Love this restaurant !!
Great food, great wine recommendation, great company
