Fig & Olive - Houston
experiences, including an expansive 160-seat dining room, a 24-seat bar and lounge, two private dining rooms with full state-of-the-art audio-visual components, and a 40-seat al fresco terrace emanating a casual chic ambiance reminiscent of summers spent on the Mediterranean.
It was my first, but not last visit. Despite the lamb burger being unremarkable for its price, overall the food was exceptionally wonderful.
It had been a couple of months since I dined at Fig and Olive, so I was totally shocked to find that that the lamb burger no longer included the small salad and the size of the burger had been reduced. I realize that cost of ingredients increases so some adjustments must be made to avoid increase in price; however, in this case the reduction is striking noticeable and this menu item is no longer appealing.
We had reservations for 4 and our table ready when we arrived. Our server was attentive & helpful in answering questions about the menu & wine selections. We alerted the server that we had theatre tickets for 8 & he was sensitive to our needs. Food was wonderful. greatl to have free parking or valet options. Will be back.
Once again I came hoping for the excellence of the NYC location. Again fell short server gives us the menu and when we try to order we are told the offerings are no longer served. Why print it? We regrouped but just was not the same
Lugar muy agradable y comida buena
Amazing meal and great service.
The restaurant is beautiful and the service was great. We went for Sunday brunch at 11a, right when they opened, and they kept telling us that they were out of most things on the menu. Even butter to make the hollandaise for the poached egg dish. The food we were able to try was quite good.
Very slow server but everything else was great! Gorgeous place.
Father’s Day was all we expected and more. We all enjoyed the ambience, service and food.
Great Brunch on Sunday-loved the music, food and service.
The ambiance was truly amazing. Our server was nice and attentive. The food was just ok. My shrimp and salmon was a little under cooked for my preference and my friends French toast was nothing to brag about. I will return to try the brunch. Perfect for lunch dates and for friends to catch-up.
First time here and I loved it! Food, cocktails, service all great
I ordered lemon chicken, it was overcooked, even the thigh part, so breast part was even worse. Veggie part was borring. Then I decided to order dessert, FIG & OLIVE TASTING was my choice... did not like any of 4 options, I am very picky about desserts. Service was very pleasant and welcome, the atmosphere relaxed and makes you come back. It is very sad, such a beautiful place with nice staff has such a boring food selection.
Wish you had more rose choices on the menu
The service and atmosphere was spectacular, however the food was very subpar.
Service was good but the overall was slow. Slow drinks, slow, apps, and slow man coursee
Gorgeous environment with delicious food. The freshness of both of space and the tastings made for a beautiful brunch. I do with there were more "brunch/breakfast" items on the menu. Great bar service too!
Always a treat!
Food was disappointing. We had a special which was risotto w/2. Scallops. He was to substitute one of the scallops for 3 shrimp. But we ended up w 2 scallops & an order of shrimp 5. Risotto was rubbery & way too much salt on scallops. Waiter was very nice but service was slow. It really is a shame beautiful restaurant. the one in Chicago was fabulous
They did an excellent job in helping us celebrate my friend's 50th birthday. Stephanie was an excellent server! She brought over a dessert as a surprise. She was around when you needed her but not hoovering. She is friendly and I can tell she has a beautiful soul. What a keeper! The food was delicious as well!
Great food. Slow service despite not being busy. Live music that was lovely. But for the price, the service was unacceptable. It should not take 10-15 minutes to get your drinks when you order a simple glass of wine. I could literally see the bartender standing there doing nothing, talking to a waiter. Our waiter... was nowhere to be found.
It was good before but we feel the overall experience is going downward every time we are coming back. Hope it is only an impression
We ate at Fig & Olive in Newport Beach & it was wonderful! We were looking forward to eating at the one in Houston but was disappointed in menu choices & food was disappointing! Our filet tasted like a skirt steak, definitely not a filet! Our crostini’s were good but not outstanding like in Newport Beach! Probably won’t return to Houston location
The food was not as good as it once was. The steak tartar was awful and not minced right. Management did not make an effort to make it better.
For prom, this was a very good venue to dine at! My group had a lot of fun and we would love to return.
Nice location, very clean and airy feel. Food was good and staff was very helpful
This was my second time here. Drinks were yummy, food presentation was lovely and it was all delicious. The atmosphere is very nice. Clean and comfortable. Not too modern, not too trendy. It is the perfect place for a work lunch or dinner with friends.
We loved the roasted cauliflower with pine nuts. I hope it gets added to the menu!
It took 20-30 minutes to receive our entree and my French toast came out cold...
Mother’s Day brunch
We have visited Fig & Olive a number of times and this was our most disappointing visit. The food was okay and the noise level was very high. I had to almost yell to have conversation with a party of three. I love their olive oil however when the bread was dropped off we were given no description of the oil or vinegar served. My eggs were over cooked along with the ham in my dish.
Great spot for business lunch. Not crowded or noisy for a Wednesday lunch. Food was great.
The waiter was not professional. I ordered two appetizers for myself as lunch meal while my husband ordered an entree. My husband’s entree did not come when I almost finished my food. We ask the waiter when my husband’s entree would come, he replied that it was long before done but he did Not want to rush me to finish mine. He wanted to wait until I finish my food then serve my husband his lunch! How rude! I had to wait there while my husband was eating his lunch the entire time. I would not recommend this restaurant.
Pricey for what you get , they have interesting food , but too salty
Uneven experience could be great with some focus and polish
Our waiter did not get our order correct. He was very pushy when we ask questions about the menu. He seemed to get frustrated with us. Then we ordered wine which took forever to come out, because he was talking to 2 young ladies who were walking by( we were sitting outside this past Thursday night) love the restaurant and food but food service my not be for him.
Over priced, slow service. Probably will not go back,
Sunday brunch jazz band ..ok
We reserved a table for 5 for Easter brunch through Open Table. The reservation was made quite a bit in advance. When we arrived, we asked to be seated on the patio, but we were told those tables were by reservation only. Then we were taken to the worst table in the restaurant...right next to the walkway into the kitchen area. It was so loud we could hardly hear each other talk and we felt like we were seated in the "cheap seats". If you want a nice table with ambiance, do not reserve through Open Table...call the restaurant directly and specify your wishes. They obviously selected the worst table in the house for our Open Table reservation, which was made weeks in advance with plenty of availability.
Peter the new GM is the best!!
The crostini’s could be a little bit more crisp and have a bit more flavor. All in all great food!
