Wonder dining experience. Great food, beautiful interior decor, even the background music was enjoyable. All 5 senses are treated to an enhanced experience. Can't wait to return.
We were at Fhima's a month ago and had a great experience so we decided to return. We were very disappointed with our second visit. The seafood tangine dish (designed for two) hardly had enough fish for one person. The service started out great but deteriorated throughout the evening and we had to wait about an half hour for dessert. We do not plan to return to Fhima's
It was a wonderful blend of mainstay menu items and special Valentine's Day items. Devin, our server, was both energetic and well-informed of the menu items and how Fhima's does things. The cocktails, seasonal and year-round, were both heady and creative. The brussel sprouts were prepared in a manner different than most being not over-cooked but bathed in balsamic. The rabbit stew with homemade gnocchi was by far the best course. Would have had three plates. The Waguyi tenderloin was very good, with the cocoa dust ans chocolate frosting. The boyfriend's steak was both well-marinated and cooked well. The only average part of the meal was the dessert, with the creme brulee being somewhat cold and the "deep into chocolate" dessert being somewhat tame and lacking in sweetness. But a nice meal in a great spot.
David Fhima and his team have once again exceeded our expectations with an absolutely fabulous dining experience! The ambiance of Fhima's Minneapolis is excellent - including a very stylish centrally located bar. The mixologist bartenders have created some wonderful specialty cocktails and the tableside presentation is excellent. Our serving team was friendly and attentive. We felt like old friends welcomed back! David's Moroccan and Sicilian influences have once again come through with a number of original tastes that caused us to clean our plates! I was thrilled that the lamb tagine was once again on the menu - and the flavors were even better than I remembered. Thank you for a memorable evening! We will be back again soon!
Fhima is located in a historically beautiful Art Deco room fit for any special occasion or fine dining experience. I recommend the happy hour specials between 3-6pm for significant value in the small plates which allows sampling of multiple food items. My favorite was a delicious beet salad. Sean was our bartender and the manager for the evening. He obviously enjoys his career and goes the extra length to make a client’s experience memorable. Instead of moving to a table for our dinner, we opted to stay with Sean to enjoy our entrees. I recommend the lamb tagine. And the bread with sweet/honey butter was irresistible! We plan to return soon with friends and family.
We love this restaurant - the staff are exceptional. Chef David Fhima is a Twin Cities treasure and his menu at this restaurant is incredibly unique.
Absolutely amazing! Chef is the best.
I have already recommended Fhima's to 5 different couples/groups of people! It was a fantastic experience and our server, Jeff, was so knowledgeable and helpful! He really helped make the experience so much fun! Can't wait to go again!
The Host, Eli was fantastic! He treated our party so well! We truly felt special. The food was fantastic. Everything we ordered was perfect. Our actual server however, not good at all. We actually wondered if he left the building at one point. Seriously, if it wasn't for Eli, the experience would have been ruined by the terrible service.
Great ambiance and hospitality. Specialty drinks were very well crafted. For as high-end the menu is I personally wasn’t super impressed with the flavors and seasoning of my food choices, but that’s just my unprofessional opinion. I would suggest to give it a try for good drinks and ambiance for sure.
Their happy hour is outstanding - $7 wines and $5 beers and great bites to eat for cheap. Their dinner menu is a bit pricey although their flavors are pretty spot on. We spent about $50 each for an appetizer, main course, and a cocktail.
If you are not an adventurous eater, I would suggest you view the menu prior to dining here as it is French and Moroccan cuisine. Some of the dishes are amazing like the Waygu Steak, the Scallop Rissotto, Salmon Tartare. Others, like the lamb tangine and Bone Marrow - I wouldn’t recommend.
Moroccan salmon was excellent, scallops were overdone on one side, slightly raw in the middle, risotto was soupy & unimpressive, Waygu flank steak was ok, not worth the price. Cream puffs were deep fried danish with some cream injected & chocolate drizzle on top - not puff pastry and very little cream. Overall food was not impressive. Cocktails were well done & service was superb!
Wonderful food ambiance had a wonderful night
Treaty very special by every one
Thank you so much for your review!
Fhima’s is perhaps our favorite restaurant in the Twin Cities. The food is outstanding, and the drinks are amazing. Service and attentive to detail can’t be beat. For the second year in a row we’ve taken our whole family to Fhima’s post Christmas holiday, making it officially our tradition. We highly recommend Fhima’s.
Thank you so much for your review, we truly appreciate the time you took out of your day to include so much detail and we look forward to seeing you and your family many times this year!
Muy buena comida , lugar muy bonito , te atiende personalmente el dueño , amable y te hace sentir en casa , definitivamente lo recomiendo
Thank you for your review!
It was a great post-Christmas work lunch spot. Both hassle in getting a reservation. Great lunchboptions, whether the petite salad, short rib or Wagyu burger, and some wonderful classic and unique cocktails. Great to see David Fhima in too and hear how the restaurant is doing.
Thank you so much for your review! Wonderful to have you in!
We had a very good meal and dining experience with a knowledgeable server. Loved the atmosphere and the cocktails.
Thank you for your review!
Outstanding service with great attention to detail. Warm welcoming relaxing yet refined ambience. Quite delectable food. Would highly recommend.
Thank you so much for your review! We appreciate you taking the time to add detail! See you soon!
For the amount of money it should five out of five, but it just wasn't that impressive - especially for the money.
The best Moroccan meal we have had outside of Meme in New York. It was a wonderful pre theatre dinner. We will return.
Thank you for your review! We look forward to seeing you again!
2 out of three dishes were great. Service was below expectation for the venue.
This was our first visit to Fhima's, and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Our waiter, Marshall inquired whether we had concert plans for the evening (we did). He did a great job of pacing our meal so that our food was presented in a timely manner and we were able to get to our concert at just the right time.
My hubs and I shared 3 different entrees and each was superb! The scallops with parmesan and saffron risotto, duck confit hash, and short ribs with sweet potato mousse were all tasty and nicely plated and presented. I could have licked the risotto and sweet potato mousse plates! The short ribs were garnished with a tuft of cotton candy-not needed in my opinion. Entrees were small enough to be a smaller plate meal; they were just right to share (2 scallops, 2 short ribs, etc). We finished off with sharing creme brulee which was actually brulee'd at the table. A fun way to end our meal!
We enjoyed a few drinks off of their seasonal menu-hubs had 2 drinks featuring mezcal-the Nib Slip and Smoke in Her Eyes-this was presented table side in a smoke filled decanter. I had the Dead &Lovely-I actually saved this drink to drink with dessert as it is a sweeter drink with heavy cinnamon notes.
Service was prompt and attentive, although it did taper off a bit as the restaurant became busier. Not a deal changer by any means, though. The wait staff seems to function well as a team with most tasks, which is nice to see.
We had a very nice visit to Fhima's. The variations in presentation of drinks and food makes the experience interesting and fun! Pricing was fair for the food and service levels. The attention to the small details was apparent. Well done!
Thank you so much for taking the time to review us in such detail! It is truly appreciated and we look forward to seeing you soon!!!
The art deco historical location, the service including host and wait staff, plus the bartenders are the best in the cities. We have had large corporate meetings, and simple small quick lunches there, and all have been supreme in the food and care provided. This is a gem of place and should get more attention.
Thank you so much for your review! We look forward to seeing you soon!

Delicious food and incredible atmosphere. Can't wait to go back!
Thank you for your review!
Service was so incredibly slow. Our drinks took 25 minutes to arrive. We had to track down the host to deliver the wine that was ordered 30 minutes previously. The risotto was more of a soup. And the wagyu beef was cold in some spots and cooked in others. Just terrible.

Skip your usual dinner out favorites and GO HERE. I took my spouse here for a surprise birthday dinner on a Tuesday evening. I was excited to try Fhima's in it's historic space in downtown Minneapolis. The bar glows so invitingly from the street. Our host, Eli, was delightful and so helpful in making our evening special. The family recipe-bread was well worth ignoring my gluten-allergy for the evening. And, while I am not a big fan of lamb, the lamb tagine was all you'd hope with succulent meat, delicious exotic flavors, and the perfect mix of savory, salty, sweet, melt-in-your mouth delicious, with just the right amount of crunch from almonds. The GSM wine we had from the Cotes-du-Rhone was an ideal complement, and a good value for restaurant bottle pricing. We loved the space, but I wish they could also add some "warmer" lighting to reflect the incredible warmth of their hospitality. The art deco lights are amazing, but gave off a greenish hue close to the tall ceiling. If there were some attention to closer and more direct table lighting, the cozy factor would go way up. All in all, a great evening with great food. I felt like an insider and a friend when we left. And, we will definitely be back!
Thank you so much for your attention to detail! We are so happy that you enjoyed the experience the way it was intended; savory, magical and eventful! We look forward to your next visit!
Excellent service. Spectacular original art deco space. Great food, great cocktails

Great food Good service
Thank you so much for your review!
Great recipes. Recommend small plates to get a broad variety of taste experiences.
Thank you so much for reviewing us! Your details are very much appreciated!
I dined with a good friend who has been dealing with food allergies for years. I have dined with her before where the restaurant isn't as patient with her as they should be. It's not her choice to deal with these allergies. The Chef at Fhima came to our table twice to check on everything and to double check the allergy information. They were amazing. Service was truly top-notch and pricing is really good. We enjoyed the food too. Definitely check them out. The space is pretty amazing!
Thank you Kelly, it was our pleasure! We appreciate the time you took to write this review and hope to see you soon!
Food was not impressive and did not match the space, nor did the lackluster service. The salad was pathetic--large lettuce leaves with a bland tomato vinagrette , and while I appreciated the chef personally apologizing for it and sending out another salad--that was also just bad. Make an interesting salad with different textures and flavors, as these salads were lazy. The flat iron was terrible--overcooked and I felt badly for the animal that gave me this meat. The fries were not crunchy or flavorful. The service made the experience even worse. I left the restaurant hungry and totally disappointed when I just wanted a good meal during a cold night in Minneapolis during a work trip.

Fhima's is our go to place when we want to have a memorable experience. The hospitality is beyond 5 stars and quite honestly you walk out feeling as if you should expecct the papparazzi to be taking your picture when you leave. Not only is the service top notch but the quality of the food delivers as well. Even if you are not one to take pictures of your food you will want to when you see the presentation at Fhimas. The art deco ambiance with an touch of city chic will make you want to celebrate everything special.
Thank you so much for your review! We appreciate you and your support so much! Looking forward to the next visit! Happy Holidays!
We dined here for our anniversary celebration. The food was excellent but the service was terribly slow. I am not certain why as it seemed they had enough servers. It took 20 minutes to get our appetizers and at least another 35 to get our entrees. We hope this restaurant makes it but definitely need to resolve the service issues.

You can tell family is involved in every aspect of this restaurant. Truly a labor of love. The maitre'd was very attentive to all his guests. The flavor experience of the foods was totally unexpected! I remember dancing at Scotty's on Seventh. Fantastic art deco. Give it a try and you will be back.
