Farmhouse at Rogers Gardens Ratings and Reviews
Beautiful location. Very laid back. Went there for lunch. The scallops and shrimp are excellent as is the Asian chicken salad. Apple crisp dessert bursts with flavor. Roasted vegetable salad just ok. Burger and fries are gourmet. Beet salad a little lacking in flavor. But overall just a lovely place to eat. Be warned it is covered but outdoor. Blanket on back of chairs and heaters to accommodate cold weather.
The Farmhouse is a gem for Restaurant Week! My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our four-course meal with a bottle of Italian Pinot Grigio. Excellent service and a perfect night for sitting outside next to the cozy patio heater. I've never been to Roger's Gardens in the evening -- it's so beautiful and the restaurant shines with pretty lighting and gorgeous landscaping. We'll be back.
The restaurant was beautiful and the service was friendly. The problem was the pace of our meal. We ordered a cheese plate and seconds after that arrived our first course arrived. Then the salad arrived before either the cheese plate or the first course were finished. The food just kept piling up so I asked if they could slow the pace of our service. We finally caught up and two entrees arrived stone cold with no sign of the third. I had to flag down a waiter to ask if my sister’s entree was coming and sent back my cold food. My friend shared her scallop entree while we waited but it was so cold that it was not enjoyable. And it tasted like cold butter. The manager comped one entree and while I appreciate the gesture, the whole experience was ruined by the pace of service. I have really never experienced something so rushed - EVER! I would have insisted on redoing all of the entrees so we could enjoy the main course together if I was the manager. It is never a comfortable experience sending back food so I would take that stress away from my guests by insisting on making it right.
Friends from North Carolina were thrilled with the day at The Farmhouse and Roger's Gardens. I LOVE when newcomers can be wowed. Tammy took really good care of us and our glasses were never allowed to sit empty. She answered all our questions and helped with the beer list and in choosing from the lunch menu. Keep up the good work.
The pork tenderloin was like butter. My girlfriend had the pappardelle. Highly recommend both. The only problem with the pappardelle was that the noodles were long and the red sauce drips and might splatter. Might have been some of the biggest scallops i have ever seen.
My girl and i could not have asked for a better meal.
We were there to celebrate our 15th anniversary. Our server, Nancy, was friendly and helpful though we lost track of her for a while. The GM, Cedrick (not sure of the spelling) came and chatted with us about wines. The food is fantastic and the view over Rogers Gardens is lovely. This was, at least, our third visit there and we will definitely go back many more times. I've already recommended The Farmhouse to several friends and will continue to do so.
I always enjoy the atmosphere here because they are in the middle of a beautiful and exotic nursery. The staff is friendly, the restaurant is almost always booked at least a week in advance but I think it is worth the wait. I had the salmon salad which I did not really like but that was my fault for not thoroughly reading the menu. They happily exchanged it for the steak salad which I usually love but again, I forgot to tell them to hold the beets (which I don't like). The staff is always friendly and pleasant. Service is good-not great because they are often bursting at the seams with a full house. My only complaint is that this is the 3rd time I have been here when it was raining and inevitably the canvas roof (most of the restaurant is not under a solid roof-which is good on a sunny day) but it stinks when it rains because the canvas cover leaks. Overall, I highly recommend it on a dry day.
We were a group of six. Reservations were not easy to get so we were seated at 2PM, the last lunch seating. The good news was we were seated immediately at a very nice table. Because it was not a round table, hearing everyone speak was a challenge. We all managed to communicate and the later it got, the communication was easier. The menu was terrific with lots of new dishes to try. Everyone loved the food, ambiance and our server who was from Australia and just delightful. I would definitely return and/or recommend to anyone. All in all, it was a terrific experience. Strolling through Rogers Gardens certainly makes this almost a destination rather than just a place to eat.l
The farmhouse was much cuter than the food was delicious. I felt like it was one of those fancy farm to the table restaurants that don’t do anything super creative and don’t push the envelope in food. We found it very boring. Service and ambiance was excellent though.
The ribeye was excellent as well as the dirty martini with blue cheese olives. Outdoor seating with plenty of heaters and blankets. The beet salad and sweet potatos were a perfect compliment to my meal. I had to go reserve 2 weeks in advance for Friday night. So keep that in mind, probably not a place for last minute meals.
We were seated in a reasonably short time in the gazebo, which was a delightful location. It was a bit chilly until they turned on the heaters. The blankets were a cute and effective solution to the cold in general. The gazebo location was picturesque and quiet. Service was a bit slow, but I think the individual was in training.
Located in the midst of a premier nursery, the Farmhouse is a treat for all the senses. Farm-to-table, the food is fresh and delicious. The service is excellent. The outdoor seating is delightful, with heaters galore and blankets on the back of every chair to ensure that cozy feeling. Really, an experience.
