Farmhouse at Rogers Gardens
beautiful ambience for valentines dinner. superb quality of food at reasonable price and well serviced
We had a lovely Valentine's Day lunch. It was quite romantic with all of the rain pouring down. The Farmhouse staff had their work cut out for them and they performed outstanding!
Everyone there greeted us and we were seated quickly. Any questions we had were answered. We were a table of 9.
Server was great. So was the food.
Beautiful atmosphere, spectacular service, and delicious food. We couldn’t have selected a better place for dinner on our recent trip to Southern California.
We never realized it would not be closed in so it was chilly & although there were adequate heaters, it was not comfortable as they were too hot when placed too close to us. The food was very good but the noise was unbearable!!!! It was not possible to have a conversation. The menu is eclectic but does not offer enough choices it was difficult to choose an entree.
Went on a Tuesday evening early for wine and appetizers. The wine was great at appetizers needed to be sent back to the kitchen. My pate resembled chicken liver runny mouse! There was some green stuff that looked like pickled grass- the waiter didn’t know what it was. The chef has a great track record...what happened?
Lovely atmosphere, had the hamburger for lunch, delicious...
I love Rogers Gardens and also really love The Farmhouse. However this visit was disappointing. Our server was nothing less than condescending and rude. We decided to have a glass of wine each...the server asked if we wanted a bottle, which declined. When ordering dinner we both decided small...both soup and salad. “That’s it?” Was the servers response. We added protein to the salad. When we decided against desert she was aghast.
I understand upselling is common but I have not seen it so thinly veiled.
I love this place. The food is delicious and the ambience so beautiful! I always bring out of town guests here! And the service is awesome too!
Our service was phenomenal! The food was delicious and the cocktails were AMAZING! It was a bit expensive but it was a special occasion and we enjoyed it!
Fantastic restaurant.. Great food and atmosphere!
They have a dress code for guests, they need one for servers too. Food was good but not amazing. Dessert was just okay.
I have been there for lunch and dinner...I would say breakfast/lunch is the way to go! ... but overall, love this restaurant!
Even in the rain, downpour, the staff made everything wonderful. Service excellent! We totally enjoyed our perfectly presented plates, which were delicious. We recommend dining here for lunch or dinner.
really enjoyed it. the staff handled the wet weather accordingly and were very accommodating.
Beautiful setting for a delicious lunch. We shared a pizza with short rib & vegetable toppings. I also loved the grilled vegetable salad. We’re already thinking about our next visit to check out the dinner menu.
What a beautiful setting! Great service and yummy food!
Loved the lights, plants and table by the heater! Very cozy.
So happy with the wine selection, thanks for bringing in different varietals I might not know about. My swordfish was fantastic.
We came to restaurant to enjoy outside dining but was stuck in a tent with another table of 6 strangers.
Sat in a tent like room and no one in the entire restaurant was "under cover".... the restaurant is equip with blankets and heaters why were we placed in a tented area? I made ressies a week in advance...very frustrating!!!
Always a great place to go, especially for special occasions with friends and family. Ian Hill has created the perfect ambience!
Waitress was rude and did not clean table before we ordered dessert. We cleaned off the table by using menu to scoop food onto it. When she saw it, she said, "What's this?" Felt like saying this is the mess that you should have cleaned! Food not up to par. Fish dry, short ribs look like flank steak! Dessert was good!
A creative menu; everything fresh; my lunch was divine and the best coffee ends a perfect meal.
This was my second visit, and while the food was again very good, I felt $25 was quite pricey for what I ordered, short ribs. But, then again, this was a special day for me and my cousin who comes to visit once a year from abroad and we didn't mind splurging. I cannot say enough about our waiter and others who tended to the outdoor heaters, provided blankets and treated us like we were very special guests in their homes. So very pleasant and attentive, they did everything possible to make sure we were well taken care of. I requested a table on the outside, near the gardens this time (less noisy) and it was just perfect! Thank you for a lovely time! Can't wait to return again next year!
Professionalism of staff, excellence of food made for an exceptional evening
The food and service were excellent! The ambiance suffered due to the weather, nothing the restaurant could control. We appreciated the heaters and blankets tremendously!
Amazing food, service, ambiance! My sister and I split the mushroom soup, the beet salad, and the seafood and veggie plate (shrimp and scallops). Every bite was delicious! We were there Feb 6, so it was a little chilly, but they had space heaters, and lap blankets at every seat-- was perfect! My only suggestion would be to add a little more shell fish for the price. The dish was $32 or $34, and included 2 scallops and 4 shrimp.
A wonderful experience with great food! An enjoyable lunch.
The menu was interesting and unique but a tad expensive, especially the vegetable dishes. The short ribs were delicious but again very expensive at $24+ for the lunch “special”. Our waitress Tammy was excellent. I would come back but only for a very special occasion.
Not during the winter season; we had a table next to the rain tarp. It continued to blow on us, hitting my face throughout my birthday lunch with a friend. We had to ask for them to move it somehow. They put a large pot on the bottom, which worked for a few minutes. The pot fell over spilling small rocks from the planter onto my feet and around the table. It was embarrassing, uncomfortable and NOTHING was done to fix it, nor compensate in any way (free dessert? ? ) My husband and I have enjoyed this place quite a few times. It will be a long time before we go back - IF we go back.
Service was great and food tasted great. Unfortunately, two of got upset stomach.
Very nice all the way around.
What a treat! We were looking for a restaurant after attending a play. Being new to the area, checked both TripAdvisor & Yelp! and both had excellent reviews. The food was delicious, the setting was great (even with the rain) and the service was excellent.
My wife and I had a very enjoyable dinner. Food was good and service was great!
Great food and service!
Even with rain, there was a great amount of covers. Beautiful ambience as always and very thoughtful for a complimentary dessert for the bride to be!
One of THE BEST restaurants in the OC - if not in all of California!! We were greeted upon arrival (it was my daughter' birthday) and top notch service from beginning to end - the atmosphere and food was exquisite and out of this world!! I highly recommend and definitely worth the drive. Everything on the menu was extraordinary and so delicious. We will be back :)
