Fall Line Kitchen and Cocktails

We went to celebrate our 22 year wedding anniversary. We have 5 yr old twin boys and were put in the “kid corner” which we knew when the hostesses changed out “party of 4” to two parents and kids, so “seat them in the kids area.” Far back of the restaurant next to the bathrooms. We were all dressed very well and kids behaved so great that even the waitress commented on how well they did. Spending $350 on dinner and wine, but when you show up with kids, you’re presumed a certain way. The manager was great, and out waitress was so nice, the 5 yr old boys said how nice and pretty she was. Food was awesome, just wish we weren’t secluded to the back corner of the restaurant just because we had kids, even though they have a specific kids menu.

Dinner was very good. Food and service were both strong.

The staff is very busy and the menu is constrained to fewer items. Simple things like edamame were bad. On the bright side, Perfect location and we had fun. Not four star dining right now. But location and attitude trump for us.

The food was delicious. Our server kept us informed. However the food was very slow to come out and one dinner was wrong. They did everything to make up for it including comping our meals. I would go back for the food and hopefully kitchen will have a better night.

Vacationing here. Wonderful meal!

Wonderful dinner with friends! Food was great!

We had the hummus, which was made in-house, including the pita, as a starter. I also had a lamb dish served in pita for the main course. Delicious. The burger was the best we had all week. Second time here. Always a good choice.

It was okay, nothing amazing. The staff have uniform masks and literally none of them fit the staff.....that was very discomforting. I felt like I had to wear my mask every time he came by to check on us or take our order. The food was okay, I wouldn't rush back

Great restaurant love it for lunch

The reviews are true - service is awful. Our apps arrived before drinks. Our server (Alex) was never present. Thank goodness the busser/runner (Juan) was there or we would never have received anything. He was terrific. The dining room was very warm but is nicely decorated. When we sat down and saw salt & pepper shakers on the table it should have been a warning. A true chef won’t need salt & pepper on the table because the food is properly seasoned and prepared. The food was not good. The poke was well prepared but lacked acid. The tots & caviar was clever but only tasted of insipid truffle oil. The charcuterie was outstanding but I’m certain it is purchased. Alex has no idea what 3 meats were featured on the plate, and instead of asking the chef he guessed wrong. All entrees were flavorless, as if the chef couldn’t find the salt cellar. (At least it was on the table.) Alex never returned to the table to see how things were. The lamb was raw, the steak was overcooked, and the trout was not seasoned. The set on the trout plate was terrific, but those flavors couldn’t help the unseasoned trout. It was very disappointing.

Drink orders never made it to the bar. Food was slow getting out of the kitchen. Food was good once it came. Sever said the restaurant was short staffed but was only about half full.

We arrived on time for our 615 reservation. Order was taken promptly. Entrees arrived 55 min later ribeye was carpaccio rather than the medium rare requested. My sons lamb chop was cold. Our request to
Speak to management was ignored. A lovely venue but disappointing

Excellent all-around food and drinks. Both the lamb and the ahi tuna were excellent.

Our server was not friendly, and there is a limited menu with small portions and high prices. They also were unwilling to make any adjustments to our food order. We asked to switch one of the sides for another side they offer and they said no. Not at all accommodating.

Sorry to say this-but I will not return. The service and food were horrible. Let's start with the food;
1. My husband ordered the coquettes-I tasted one and my bite was cold, not lukewarm, it was cold-like out of the freezer cold.
2. I'm a vegetarian and I asked if I could get the mashed potatoes with truffle butter and broccolini. The Chef said "yes" and placed a big block of tofu on top. Which was kind, however, with tofu you can't just sear the outsides of a big block, you need to slice it so it heats through or even better, sear all the slices. Again, my food was not warm to the point the butter wouldn't even melt. I had to smash it into the tofu and mashed potatoes.
3. My husband ordered a meat dish and was thoroughly unimpressed.
4. I had to remind the server multiple times to ask about a vegetarian entree option. I would have been totally fine with not ordering an entree as there were several veg starter options.

Our server wasn't friendly and seemed annoyed I wasn't ordering alcohol. Before bringing the entrees, she said the bottles of French and Spanish were 1/2 price and dropped a wine menu that had all bottles of wine 1/2 price. Huh? BTW 1/2 price meant $100+. This is not the type of dining establishment that can support $200 bottles of wine.

Food and service were disappointing.

Really nice evening. Food is excellent. Service is friendly but a few Restaurant 101 features need to be reinforced. The plates from the first course should not be removed until everyone at the table is finished. The second course should never show up before the first course is finished. When you’re paying over $100 per person, this stuff should be down pat. We’ll skip Fall Line next year.

Food was very good, but small portions for the price. There was a long delay on our food, however, the manager gave us a discount as a result. It was rather cold inside (granted it's winter, but all the other restaurants in Vail were fairly comfortable). The cocktails were pretty good.

Food was good but tiny portions and expensive. Also, the menu is not as good as it used to be. We were disappointed after an expensive meal.

Restaurant was quite small. Several tables in line with the doors. The inner door frequently remained open as customers arrived or departed - making diners uncomfortably cold.
All restaurant tables are around the bar - I feel like this place needs to decide if it wants to be a bar serving small plates of food or a true restaurant.

Noisy! Cramped, could not even comfortably sit in the chair as someone was right at my back at another table. Food came so quickly did not even get 2nd round of drinks before entrees arrived, after telling server we were not in a hurry. Not what I expect from a restaurant serving $39 entrées.

However, it is a great location, just beyond the Covered Bridge. The quality of the food was very good. Cauliflower soup and Arugula salad great, Trout, generous portion, could have used more flavor.

If you go...expect an "energetic" noise level which is to be expected in a pretty small space and skiers eating after coming off the mountain (the night we were there, due to a very loud gentlemen across from us, it was more than "energetic). Make sure you let your server know whether you want your entrees flying out of the kitchen or served at a more typical, leisurely pace. No complaints about our server assuming she couldn't control the kitchen staff.

Food was delicious, drinks were decent, service was average.

Didn’t like the menu at all. Appetizer menu was terrible, so most of us passed in ordering one. Outside of salad, they were weird. We’re adventurous eaters, but don’t like overly fried food. Raw oysters which I love were dramatically overpriced. We’re from the east coast and will not pay that for a dozen oysters! Kids had short ribs which were bland and tasteless. Yes, the meat fell off the bone, but try adding spice! Husband and I had salmon which was ok. They overcooked it, but nicely offered a free dessert to compensate for that. Two thumbs up for their customer service - that would make me want to return. That, and if they added a burger to the menu! Oh, forgot to mention, they don’t bring bread to the table- that is $3.50 extra. Such a joke when every entree is $34-60.

Great food, cocktails, and wine. Loved the waygu steak.

The food and wait staff was excellent. Our biggest disappointment was that when we asked for bread to go with our $40.00 entree they wanted to charge us for the bread. We enjoyed our dinner but will not be back for this reason. First restaurant that I have ever experienced this at.

Excellent cocktails. Benefited from the wine sale. Our waiter was great.

Great location, excellent service & food. We enjoyed the tuna poke, stuffed dates and rocky mountain trout! We will be back during our next trip to Vail.

Very tastefully decorated restaurant with friendly staff. Loved the arugula salad and trout. Good poke, too.

What a neat spot! Right on the main drag for great people watching and very clean/modern inside. Food was excellent and service was an A+. Will be back again for apres and dinner.

We went for Apres and had an amazing time. We always go here when we are in Vail. Cocktails were amazing, bartenders couldn’t have been nicer and the people watching of bridge street was incredible. We went back in that night for late night drinks after dinner and ended up staying past midnight!!! Place rocks.

The service was very lacking for a restaurant of this level, not rude but extremely inattentive and short. The cauliflower soup was fantastic but the short rib and accompanying polenta was incredibly bland and not worth the price with all the great restaurants around...

Good food. Not a lot of vegetarian options but the salad and fritters that I had were good.
