   Let me start by saying we made reservations 2-3 weeks in advance for the Mother’s Day Brunch.. We arrived and were very disappointed to be seated outside. I immediately asked the hostess and she said large tables only inside so I dropped it. We were only a party of 3 but it included my 87 year old mother. It was almost 88 degrees and we were very uncomfortable. I walked inside on my way back to our table from the buffet and saw that in fact there were smaller tables inside and they had live music and of course air conditioning! I watched as table after table was sat outside, complained and many others were accommodated inside. The food was very good and our waiters were wonderful but overall we were robbed of a pleasant dining experience by being seated outside. I am upset with myself that I didn’t make a stink so that my party would be moved too. At a place like RB Inn you shouldn’t have to make a stink to be accommodated.

   Overall, the evening was fun. The food and service was very good. Unfortunately the food tables were outside and it was cold. The doors remained open for access to the food which made it uncomfortable inside for tables near the doors. The band was mediocre but we made the best of it. We are regular customers of RBI and we were expecting better. Maybe our expectations were to high.

   Was surprised they had no omelet station or eggs benedict. I heard several other people asking for them also. Seeing that the brunch started at 10AM you would have thought they would have an omlet station or some kind of eggs.

   The Rancho Bernardo Inn has extensive, beautiful grounds. The Christmas brunch was a gorgeous spread with many delicious offerings. The open bar flowed freely. Brunch for 6 people cost $1047.

    The food was fantastic, I will be going again. A couple of my top favorites was the stuffing and mashed potatoes, the flavors reminded me of the times I spent TG at my grandmothers. The way the buffet was set up including the carving station resulted in little time to fill your plate. The Staff was very gracious and there was someone always checking the table and asking if you needed anything with a quick turnaround when you did need something. I would recommend the RB Inn for anyone who wants to take a break from the long hours in the kitchen on TG Day. It is every bit worth the cost.
