Nestled between East Austin neighborhoods, Este celebrates fresh seafood, Mexican cuisine, and charcoal cooking. From the team behind the East 6th favorite, Suerte, Chef Fermin and restaurateur Sam Hellman-Mass are taking their love for masa coastal.

From the OpenTable editors: From 2024 James Beard semifinalist and acclaimed Suerte chef Fermín Núñez, this chill seafood spot is all about mariscos—think shrimp aguachiles, tuna tiradito, and oysters splashed with salsa negra.     It was our first visit and our server Andrew was phenomenal. He gave some great recomendations and was kind, prompt, and polite. Food was excellent!

    Nikki was our waitress and did a fantastic job of highlighting the specials/seasonal items. She always provided excellent recommendations and made an effort to check in on us frequently.

    The restaurant was packed and too noisy. The Tuna Tiradito was tasty but its presentation on the plate was unappealing. I think it may have been the salsa that made the tuna look muddy. The fish and beef tacos were good but just tacos. Salad was good (peaches were nice). The Pescado Zarandeado was very good. Chris, our waiter, was great.

    Our waiter was friendly and knowledgeable. He gave great recommendations for new foods to try and which wine to best pair it with. The fish tacos are unreal, I have not had a better fish taco anywhere else. Delicious margaritas and fantastic ceviche.

    One of my favorite Austin restaurants! No matter how many times I have visited, the dishes, service, and food quality exceeds my expectations. Weekend happy hour is great because I can enjoy a nice meal and drinks at a slow pace without feeling crowded or rushed.
