The steak is GREAT: that’s where it ends. The value compared to food/service/experience seemed way off. We eat at starred/guide restaurants frequently which have comparable price points - and this wasn’t even close. I get the skyline/view tax, but we gotta up the game here. Not sure what I paid for; and I can say with all my heart I don’t mind $200 plate experiences.

Beautiful ambiance and excellent service. Our server Natasha was fabulous!!! All of the appetizers, entrees, and desserts were superb!!!

We eat at a lot of nice high-end steak houses across the country, so my review is coming from a lot of experience. It was a beautiful space and the service was great. It was a nice break from all the chaos of Waikiki. However, my son and I both ordered the filet mignon cooked medium rare. His was raw and mine was medium. I understand each restaurants idea of medium rare can vary, I'm used to that, but when you order the same temperature for the same steak, there shouldn't be such a variation. Also, my husband ordered creamed spinach for the table. I laughed when he ordered it because it's such a southern dish and here we are in Hawaii at a NYC based restaurant. We are from Atlanta and creamed spinach is a staple side at southern steak restaurants. When it came out, it was chopped sauteed spinach. We told the waiter that there must be a mistake because this wasn't creamed spinach. They said it was. We asked, "Where is the cream?" They said there wasn't cream in creamed spinach. Hmmm....... I guess if you haven't had creamed spinach in the south, maybe you wouldn't know the difference. Beautiful restaurant, great service, but needs a little bit of tweaking.

The hotel and restaurant are both aged, but the restaurant itself has a beautiful view of the marina and city. Unfortunately, we had numerous issues from the time we sat down until the time we left 2.5 hours later. Our food was delayed, drinks were a little off, salad was near frozen and over dressed, both of our steaks were over cooked, and my wife’s desert was subpar. The server tried his best but couldn’t mange the flow of our meal and seemed to be oblivious to the appropriate time to wait between courses. This is definitely not a repeat for us.

Valet parking was available right at the main entrance, and we took the Empire Steak House elevator straight to the 30th floor. The ride was smooth, opening up to a breathtaking view of the ocean and Waikiki Harbor. We were warmly greeted by the hostess and seated at a lovely table with a spectacular view. Our server introduced herself and quickly explained the menu options and took our order. Sparkling water and fresh bread were served to start. I ordered the calamari while my daughter had the clam chowder-both beautifully presented and delicious. Our medium-rare steak arrived shortly after, perfectly seasoned and cooked just right. The sides were equally impressive: broccoli with a touch of garlic, tender yet crisp, and fluffy mashed potatoes full of flavor. We finished with apple pie à la mode and coffee--served hot on a chilled plate, an excellent touch to a perfect dessert. The entire experience was exceptional, made even better by the stunning view. Easily one of the best value lunch spots on the island. I'll definitely be bringing friends here!
