   The experience was good but service was very slow given we were the only table at the time. Food was interesting and very good.

   An extremely disappointing experience dining at El norte. On the wine front they had neither of the first two choices of white and red wine in stock (spanish wines). They suggested an alternative white which we took and only when the bottle was finished they told us they had run out of that too!! On the service of the wine alone, they poored the white with cork in two glasses without realising. With the red wine, the server managed to spill wine outside of the glasses on two separate occasions and we had to point it out to clean it! It also seems that they were running out of glasses as for red wine we had 3 sizes of glasses on the table. Again ludicrous we had to point out the discrepancy. Food wise- nothing special. Of course its mayfair and prices have to be at a certain level so no one was looking "value for money" but literally the only saving grace of the whole meal was the basque cheesecake at the very end. We spoke to the manager at the end to raise our concerns about the poor service of the entire meal and he removed the anyway optional service charge. I think a class move here would have a gone a step further to mitigate a catastrophic meal.

   I took some friends having been once before sometime ago, things seem to have downhill since, they seemed understaffed and the food was disappointing, especially the Paella.

   Food and service was simply ok, certainly not worth the premium price. Female toilets were out of order but we were not advised of this. They suggested we used the male toilets which were extremely dirty and smelled awful.

   Very average flavours that don't reflect any of the traditional authentic Spanish food. I am open to experiments with food and modern twists. I am not open to creating a bland recipe with mixes that don't bring out the best of the main ingredient. I am a Spanish national and I know good Spanish food. I had the pulpo with lentils and chimichurri thinking it'd be a great combination of flavours however, the flavours were literally non-existent. It was tasteless and bland. My partner and I had been looking forward to it all day as the many sounds so good on paper, and it was very disappointing and unfortunately, very expensive for what it is.

   Great food - octopus a standout dish. Good service including preparing an appetiser at the table. Very quiet but perhaps understandable given lunch time during Easter.

   The food, such as it was, was delicious and arrived promptly - we had ordered a "big plate" seafood paella, which certainly was not a big plate and could not possibly fill two adults, being mostly made up of rice with the odd bit of seafood, in a very shallow dish. For this, we paid £94 with an additional 12.5% service charge on top, following a conversation with the manager to set out our concerns around value for money. Nothing was deducted from the bill. The service was good but nothing special; the value for money was appalling.
