El Five always to the rescue! Dissapointing reservations at a different restaurant for my husband's BDay, so we scooted over to El Five where we were treated like family. Amazing service every time. Excellent chefs & bartenders. They truly care & take pride in their experience they deliver. The patio is the way to go it the weather permits. Breathtaking geatway from the city. Thank you & see you soon!

Disappointing Experience at El Five – Chef’s Counter Reservation Not Honored I’m writing to share a disappointing experience we had during our recent visit, which unfortunately cast a shadow over what was supposed to be a special night celebrating two birthdays. We had specifically requested to sit at the chef’s counter through OpenTable (which the hostess acknowledged) and followed up with a phone call the night before our reservation to confirm this was possible. The person I spoke with said it would be. However, when we arrived, we were told we could not sit there. The hosts repeatedly asked, “Who did you talk to?”—as if the responsibility was on us to recall a name from a casual phone conversation. This was frustrating and embarrassing, especially since it was a celebratory occasion we had been looking forward to. Needless to say, the Chef’s Bar had only two people sitting there the entire time we were in the restaurant. We suggested checking the camera footage from around 7:10 PM the night before our reservation to identify who answered the phone, but no effort was made to resolve the situation. The dismissive and unhelpful attitude from the front staff was shocking, especially given the positive experiences we’ve had in the past at El Five. While the server was kind and the food was good as always, the overall experience left us disappointed. To add to this, the server offered birthday desserts at the end of the meal, which we accepted—only to see we were charged for them. Our family has spent many evenings here and has often recommended El Five to friends and visitors. Sadly, after this experience, we can no longer do so in good faith. We hope you’ll take this feedback seriously and use it as an opportunity to ensure that future guests receive the level of hospitality El Five is known for.

El Five is doing something I haven't experienced anywhere else in Denver. Every bite from the lamb sausage mezze to the harissa eggplant fries and matso ball soup dumplings was a journey of uniquely elevated flavors, spices, and textures. Be sure to save room for dessert - you have not lived until you have tasted the Crema Catalana and the Basque Cheesecake.

Like the tapas idea, but pretty pricey for what you get. Also had the paella, small portion for $49! It came in a small probably 8-9 inch. pan with 2 SMALL clams and 2 SMALL mussels (I've never seen them so small) and the rice was burnt to the bottom of the pan. I bet they forgot about our order. I was not impressed by what you got for the money.

Sat at the bar watching the kitchen. Drinks were delicious, food was amazing, and chef Kyle was so amazing answering all my questions and making sure we had a perfect birthday celebration.

Even though we had a reservation we waited 30 min to be seated. Portions were small and the food was not as good as previous times I had gone. It was 4th of July so I understand it was busy but they should have not taken that many reservations
