Nestled high above LoHi on the fifth floor of 2930 Umatilla, El Five boasts spectacular, unobstructed views of the downtown Denver skyline. The menu is an homage to the Mediterranean and features small plates built on bold flavors found throughout the region: Spain, North Africa, the Middle East.

Inside, the space is understated and sensual, flanked by a large, open-air patio for sun-kissed Colorado nights. As the newest restaurant in the Edible Beats family, El Five celebrates the confluence of flavors, ideas and geographies made possible by a subtle shift in perspective.

                                                                                                                        We took our friend here to celebrate her birthday and had a wonderful time sharing tapas, drinks, & desserts. The serving staff did a great job helping us surprise our friend and accommodating a last minute add on to the party. I definitely will be coming back for the service and views.

He knew the menu and wine list thoroughly, making spot on recommendations. The food was amazing from the spread to the Med to the goat cheese croquettes and the bison meatballs to the shrimp and patatas fritas, finishing with the Lisbon chocolate cake. We were sat on the patio with a terrific view of downtown.

                                                                                                                        This place used to be great, but last night it just wasn’t. Glassware was dirty, shrimp were overcooked and service was lacking. The view is incredible, and the Mezzy plate and lamb are both delicious. We’ll give it another try and just hope it was an off night, but for the price you shouldn’t have off nights.

The food is fabulous, the servers know their stuff, and the ambience is fun. We were celebrating a college graduation and had a wonderful meal with great service. We’ll be back!

We were seated next to a brick wall & screaming baby - we asked to be moved said it would take some time although restaurant was only about half full. By time hostess returned to move us our entree had arrived. (Also entree was presented w no dishes or cutlery - it was paella!) Won’t be returning. Do not recommend

                                                                                                                        Best views in Denver, delicious and imaginative menu, Cassie, our server, was attentive, helpful with suggestions and just overall delightful. Big winners for us were the sea bass and the combos with mushrooms, but we managed to finish 6-7 dishes between the 4 of us. Cocktails were yummy too!
