Hailed as Santa Fe's most historic and iconic restaurant and bar, El Farol has provided locals and visitors over a century of memorable experiences. The El Farol experience combines classic tastes of Spain with a unique blend of art, dance, flavor and aroma. You will be able to choose some of the finest wines and authentic Spanish food that are big on flavors, such as traditional Spanish tapas as well as paella!
Take in the rustic 1835 adobe walls that tell stories of artists, poets, lovers, local history and beauty. Patrons enjoy our dinner shows featuring the musicians and dancers of the renowned National Institute of Flamenco. Meanwhile, our bar serves up classic margaritas, sangria, signature cocktails, and live music.

                                                      We ate appetizers (hot and cold) plus dessert while listening to a wonderful jazz group. We were able to talk during or listen to the music. Wonderful evening.

                                                      There were two of us. Even though I believe the required meal to be $$$+ necessary to attend the Flamenco show, and mostof the entrees were not to my liking, I greatly enjoyed my seating and the Flamenco show. The service was excellent, too.

                                                      I was very disappointed to find a regular reservation does not mean you see the dancing show as I read the info as patrons can enjoy the show on Friday and Saturday nights. There is also no mention of the extra fee for that when I made the reservation. I feel their info is misleading as far as the show with dinner. That is not correct. You must ask for show seating and pay $25 per person. It pretty well got the evening off poorly when they sat us in the bar and we’re a bit sharp about us not making the right kind of reservation. They were full for the show. We were visiting from out of town and that could have been a fun night but instead it was just an ok dinner. We observed other customers that had the same problem checking in after us. The problem seems to be in their descriptions of their offerings. Very misleading!

                                                      We had dinner at El Farol on a Friday evening and then attended the Flamenco show. Food was outstanding and the Flamenco show was highly entertaining. We enjoyed the food so much that we returned the next afternoon for a drink and light late lunch midway through our shopping tour of the Canyon Road art shops.

                                                      Tapas are, by definition, small plates. In order to sample the wonderful variety, it helps to be a group of three or more to maximize the number of plates ordered so that a variety can be sampled. The plates are beautifully presented, the flavors of each complemented by a drizzle of this or a dollop of that. El Farol captures the flavors of Spain but presents them with a greater sense of aesthetics than is usually the case in Spain.
