Excellent food and service. Very nice ambiance.
Lovely food, ambiance and service!
Enjoyed the decor, the food and the service! A table of 4 and we all chose the 4 course meal.
Well done! Thank you for a great night!
It was a our usual Thursday lunch get together and the first time for all of us to go together. We all opted for the lobster roll. We were all happy and even had the Baked Alaska for desert. My recall is it is supposed to be cooked until the ice cream runs out of the bottom but this wasn't that way. We enjoyed it at any rate.
Always a pleasure to dine at 849, my out of town guests love it! Always impresses them!
Casual atmophere with elegant furnishings!
Love the promotion of our local artists work!
Service and food always constant with high standard and interesting menu!
Excellent meals, as always, at this fine restaurant. Outstanding professional service by Kevon.
Excellent food, service, and atmosphere. Charred octopus is a must, as is pear salad. Pork Marsala a little sweet but full of flavor. Salad nicoise delicious Highly recommended.!!
Love the service and ambiance and food was amazing!
Wonderful food, impeccable service and a elegant decor
Way too loud, the ambiance was pure noise, they missed the mark on that for sure
The environment is really cozy. The menu has great options and the price is worth the show. Staff is friendly and they have delicious cocktails. I would definitely go back. Excellent for a special night or for a date.
Way overpriced for what it is. Server was unfriendly and somewhat pushy.
If you go ask to be seated on the patio. It is beautiful! Great service, delicious, interesting food. You will love it!
Always a great experience. Food and drinks are amazing, great spot for brunch, as well.
Great service. Delicious and creative food. Love this place for a special Palm Springs dinner.
This was our second visit here. Once again I asked for a quiet table and we were given a table in a private dinning room. We were all by ourselves the entire meal! What a great idea of having several private dinning rooms so people can dine in private and quiet. We love the black & white atmosphere and all the vintage photos. The server was very attentive. The food was good. My only complaint was the steak and potato were not as described in the menu and the potato was a bit under cooked. We both had the $46 four course dinner as it is a better value and we wanted the courses any way. The corn chowder was great. The desserts were both good.
Outstanding....will be back!
The food was very good, but not creative. It was served too quickly and the room is very noisy. It is a lively restaurant with good service.
The food was great, recommendation from waiter Edgar. Outstanding service
We loved the ambiance so much that we booked our daughter’s birthday celebration there.
Gorgeous food. In Palm Springs for 2 weeks on holiday and this was THE nicest plate of food we had - just lovely.
I thought the restaurant was underwhelming , I had over cooked octopus app, over cooked sea bass . I wouldn’t go back
I've had better meals here in the past. We ordered the 4 course prix fixe after noticing some combinations were a bargain while others were less expensive if ordered a la carte. The daily appetizer was one bite. The crab and corn chowder had excellent flavor, less than a dozen kernels of corn, 2 tidbits of tough crab, and no potatoes as one would expect in a chowder. We both ordered the duck. One was bloody raw and went back to the kitchen. The other was medium pink which does not meet food safety standards for foul. The rice was very good. The vegetable was a rubbery thing which was apparently there for color, not eating. The coachella lime pie was excellent as was the decaf coffee. While our waitress was fine, some of the people serving and busing were untrained in basics like pouring water, serving bread, and clearing dishes. The atmosphere is clever decor with excessive noise.
A lively restaurant with creative Palm Springs themed decor, good food, great cocktails and fine service. If you’re headed to Palm Springs put it on your list; from our experience there it looks like the locals already know all about it.
Wonderful experience and a delightful dinner. Very happy.
One of the best hot spots in Palm Springs. It's like eating in an art gallery. Vibrant bar scene and a delicious menu. Great for private parties, large dinner parties, a quick bite at the bar, business meetings and just great dining in general.
Food was outstanding. Very very very noisy. We were five and couldn't hear conversation across the table due to noise. Our server was very friendly but hardly saw her. We had to wave her down to get refills on drinks. We've been before but ate at the bar where service was better and the noise levels were tolerable.
Sat in the lounge and had their bites which is half orders that are still large. Delicious Cobb salad and nicotine. Both excellent. Great service. Beautiful restaurant
The service was excellent as well as the food.
We had a good meal. Nice relaxed service. Good cocktails. I ordered the tenderloin because of the offer of blue cheese on top. It sounded great. On the drive home I realized that we’d got into the conversation and there had not been any blue cheese in the tenderloin. Other than that it was a nice night out.
It took 30 mins to get our first drinks. Did not bode well for rest of evening.
love John who owns the place. they make us feel so welcome and warm.
Wonderful service and very interesting design. I appreciated the eclectic style. The menu offerings are great for a gluten free diner! I ordered the salmon Nicoise and wasn’t disappointed. Would definitely go back bc everything looked amazing!
Eight4nine is always good. Excellent service, good food, nice place.
We’ll go back.
We have dined there for lunch 3 times and dinner once. Each experience was well worth the drive from Indian Wells. I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys delicious, interesting food served by enthusiastic staff.
There was no service. Out waitress took our order after 15 mnts of waiting. She never checked back or refilled our beverages. It then took 30 mnts to pay out check. I love this place and this is unusual.
Our first experience a week ago was great --- an early dinner. This experience of a Sunday brunch was good but fell short of great. We ordered a Ratatouille which has tomato sauce on the menu but was delivered with a coconut sauce without any explanation. When we questioned it they said they didn't have the tomato sauce on this day. They took that entree off our check and offered another entree which we took -- and it came in awhile - a vegetable burger. Nothing special. The omelette was okay. The menu allows three ingredients. Five would be better, e.g., four vegetables and cheese. Overall was the experience was good but not the great we expected from our first visit.
Always great food and ambiance!
The four course option is well worth it. Please try the beef tenderloin!!! It was delicious. Our group enjoyed our food and the service. We will definitely return.
Great food and atmosphere, but the service was a little lacking.
