It used to be much better. It was a Sunday night so maybe that’s why a bit empty but the food is not as great as it used to be(comparing to
Notting hill branch 5 years ago) we ordered the wagyu beef but came a bit tough, not what you would expect from Wagyu!
Fantastic food and great service - a huge improvement from when I last went 6 weeks ago.
Both me and my friend got really ill from the food. They added things on the bill that we never ordered. We were there for my friends birthday and they didn’t even acknowledge it, even if I stated it in my booking.
Great cocktails and wonderful service . Perfect for any occasion.
Lovely evening at E and O. Food was delicious. Great ambiance as always. Very reasonably priced.
The best Pan-Asian restaurant in Chelsea and a great vibe!
My experience at E&O was fantastic, everything from the level of service to the food was at the top level.
The prawn toast on the specials was unbelievable and something that needs to be on the menu full time.
When we finished our meal our waitress reserved a seat at the bar for after our dinner, which was a nice touch.
The meal was reasonably priced the only thing that makes the “experience” expensive is the cocktails but that is to be expected in London with £12/14 cocktails - bottled beer is £4 which is standard too.
We are already planning to visit again.
Food was amazing, particularly the tuna tataki. Went to 8over8 many times in the past and loved it but towards the end it became a bit of a ghost of its former self with the food not really being worth the cost.
Whilst the prices have more or less remained the same the food is amazing and the service was great, reinventing itself as e&o seems to have been the right decision. Hope it stays that way!
E&O used to serve fantastic pan Asian cuisine, but the quality has dropped a lot since the re-opening. The tempura was soggy and a few of the other dishes were bland. Sushi/ sashimi has disappeared from the menu, which is a shame as well. We will probably give it another (last?) go in a few months, to see if things have improved.
Service was great and the team accepted our comments on the food in the right way.
If you want to have excellent dim sum with appalling service I highly recommend. The restaurant and bar are lovely and have a great atmosphere and the food was delicious. The reason why the service was so poor was because we were charged for a bottle of wine we didn't purchase and when we asked the staff to refund the amount they ended up charging 2 more of our guests extra instead of refunding it. When we addressed this we were accused of lying when we provided proof by receipt to show we had been charged again in error. After lots of back and forth, we received the refund and a loyalty card. Because of this issue it completely ruined our dining experience. I think the situation could have been handled much better by the staff and it's a shame because it's our local restaurant.
Simple concept w smallish selection of all time favourite dishes, not cheap but not expensive either, friendly service
Overall very good, the only let down are the paper table cloth.
Waited far too long for our food it was ridiculous and the Manager was very rude. He also made a number of mistakes and took no responsibility. Really didn’t expect this level of bad service at this price points. Food was the same menu it has been for years so no change there. Noise level extremely high so don’t go if you don’t get a booth which is quieter. We are definitely not going there again.
First time here, food was good especially the wagyu beef however the duck salad I find to be quite sweet. Service was absolutely terrible, we had a waitress and she couldn't understand nor speak English so she kept getting our orders wrong then ended up asking for someone else to come which wasted a lot of time. Other waitresses/waiters were hard to get the attention of. The next day I found out my friend had a bad tummy from all the food here. Great place but not sure if I'd come back.
First time I’ve been since the refurb. Love the new bar area. Bar man was delightful. Recommended 2 of his own ideas and one fro the menu. He was helpful, friendly and efficient. Receptionists were great too. Table waiter was ok. Polite but very absent. Quality of food was ok. Asked for no onions on food and some had it in garnish form and specifically added to food such as fried rice. Not good for a restaurant of this supposed quality and price range.
I want to like this place as a venue for a cool neighbourhood vibe. Sadly this first return wasn’t much as I’d have liked.
Great venue and food
Service has dropped but ok
My daughters 18 th we had fun time
The plates are on the small side and you’ll need a sweet drink to counteract the savoury flavours.
I have been to this restaurant many times but I have to say servis wasnt great ( it wasnt busy at all) they brought me twice completely different food, when we paid they put in the bill meals we didnt have and it always took them so long to come in the fact that reataurant was almost empty! Work on it!!! Ozher than that We loved dim sum😉
Great vegetarian options, Mateus is doing a great job managing the experience in these restaurants.
Excellent FoH, professional and friendly took care of us very well. Food very good, new room I like. Drinks take a long time!
A great restaurant in every way, good food, service, ambience, interior, space and location and very reasonably priced.
Food fantastic - every dish we had was delicious - however service wasn’t great. We had to repeatedly ask and still items were forgotten. The food made up for it though.
E&O maybe one of the most interesting Asian fusion options in West London. Love it.
Thoroughly enjoyable meal on a bustling NYE. Attentive and efficient staff. Dynamic cuisine packed with flavour.
Not enough vegetarian options
Prawn and chive dim sum better than fried cod dim sum.
Veg curry good, prawn tempura unhealthy fried fest
Booze expensive, staff charming. With more local competitors, pressure is on !!
not what it used to be. No trace of the original fusion magic. some dishes such as Pad Thai horrible; a lump of congealed noodles.
Service was only fair because inconsistent; alternatively helpful and absent. Most dishes were delivered promptly but one main dish was forgotten! The decor is minimal and the restaurant was rather empty!!
Disappointing level of service vs the old days of 8over8
We are +70 but dare I say young in heart. Combination of great cocktails, lively ambiance, super service and tasty food left us very happy indeed. Certainly will return.
Nice atmosphere but a tad noisy.
Food was good but a little bit too salty.
What they are referring as dim sum are not dim sum but starters in general (would have been good to know in advance)
Good nevertheless we will probably come back
Lovely food and great service. Very chilled vibes and a good place to catch up with friends! All the dim sum was delicious!
When we arrived, we were almost blown backwards by the volume of the music in the bar, louder than any nightclub I have been to. Fortunately, the manager did turn the volume down on request. Waitress friendly, but spoke next to no English. Some food arrived incredibly quickly, then nothing for ages and only then when we asked for it. Wholly forgettable experience, such that it will take a lot for me to consider returning there again
Lovely restaurant, all time classic, glad it reopened.
I used to go to 8over8 and there is no comparison, the good was average, service super slow and the room was super noisy.
Too loud for a chilled dinner. Food very good, but wait staff way too busy.
Greet Pad Thai and black Cod. Attractive restaurant.
Good place, I went on Sunday lunch and it's nice a niece ambience, good food.
Very lacklustre evening - mediocre service and average food at best. I used to like eight over eight and the e&o Notting hill branch but hadn’t been in a while and was excited about this new opening. Don’t waste your time or money. I’ll be sticking to other dining choices in the area.
A thirty minute wait for main courses after starters had been cleared. Orders and questions were taken and then forgotten about. There were apologies from a very nice waitress, but only once the long wait had been pointed out. 'The kitchen is in chaos' she said with an embarrassed smile. Food is good but not amazing. There appears to be no overseeing management bringing order, friendliness and cohesion to the room. No greeting on arrival. No smile or goodbye on leaving. It was almost as though they didn't care whether or not we came back. I wonder if we'll go back...
