This was our follow up dinner after we got engaged. The staff couldn’t have been any more courteous and accommodating. They were very attentive and went to the extra mile to make our night more special. The steaks and sides we ordered were delicious.
Tim the server was the best server we have ever had
We love dining at DUO when we are in Maui. It never disappoints with our dining experience. Brendan was our server for two years in arrow, and he is fantastic. We enjoyed his great service and attentiveness to us. DUO is definitely a must place for dinner is you are ever in Maui.
We decided on an early dinner to enjoy the open air dining, a peaceful view and eventual beautiful sunset. We enjoyed our cocktails and appetizers and then the drumming began!!
We were there to celebrate my husband’s birthday which we had done last year, unfortunately our dinner was accompanied with a full hour of drumming.
The sound was overwhelming and prevented any normal conversation during our meal. We simply would not have chosen this location for our celebration. It was unacceptable not to be informed about this.
We have dined at this location on this same date.
It was a terrible disappointment!!
It was our 10 year anniversary dinner and our waiter was Timmy (I think?) and he provided excellent service and options for our night out. We loved the food! The raw bar was amazing!! Really appreciate the staff making it a nice night for us.
The food was delicious, we had sea bass special and filet with asparagus and Brussels sprouts and scallops as sides. And a chocolate souffle for dessert which was paired with a vanilla bean ice cream and carmelized bananas. Safe to say we will be back, worth the money
Great food & our server Brad was excellent!
I had a wonderful birthday dinner with hubby. The staff were all amazing especially our waiter, Timmy. We most definitely will go back next time we are on Maui!
Beautiful and fully satisfying.
I love it! The snapper and puréed potatoes are to die for!
Always excellent. Incredibly accommodating even gave us shawls for the cool breeze. Excellent service and food.
Excellent in every way!!
Good but not outstanding food this time, though we've gone at other times and had a wonderful experience. Service was excellent, but the cost of corkage--$95 per bottle--was a little more than outrageous. Sides were excellent, but fish offerings were a bit disappointing.
For the most part this was a lovely evening. My only complaint was for some reason my filet steak which was ordered medium well came out well with a blue middle. So I ate around the blue and didn’t worry about it....
Absolutely amazing service and food! Having worked in hospitality, our dinner was one of the best we have ever experienced. A must in Maui!
Loves it! Everything and everyone was amazing.
Everything was very good! The food was excellent, the service was excellent. What more can one say. Duo did everything right and made sure we were satisfied. I had the rib eye and my wife had the sea food plate.
Overcooked the steaks (medium was more like well done) and a $95 corkage fee for any outside wine. Try the mai tai .. amazing. Service was good.
Great service, very knowledgeable about allergy. Fantastic catch of the day and superb wine!
We really enjoyed our dinner at Duo. Our server was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. The reason I did not give it a higher rating is because my fish was really over cooked. The manager was super friendly and removed it from my bill but apparently it had happened to someone else that same night; per our server. It’s Hawaii; really thought the fish would be cooked perfectly. Other than that we had an outstanding experience.
This was a major disappointment. You would think a steak house at a Four Seasons would be wonderful. It was not. The filet wasn’t tender, the prime rib taste like it was cooked in hot dog juice and the tenderloin was no better. The exciting side of dinner was dessert where they brought out cotton candy. Very disappointed. Thought this would have been one of our best meals when in reality, I could have gone to Outback and have received a better meal.
We visited Duo on a Saturday night. We ended up using valet parking as there was no available self-service parking. We were seated shortly after our reservation time and the service was great. My husband had the prix fixed option for the smoked prime rib (which was quite the bargain at $73 for appetizer, main and dessert). Onion soup was delicious. The lobster bisque was not to my liking - it had a smoky flavor that I did not enjoy. My sons had the grilled snapper and the filet. Both were delicious. We had the asparagus, the Mexican corn and French fries for shared sides. Favorite was the corn but the other two were delicious as well. Desserts were yummy as was the cotton candy. Would highly recommend this restaurant for a special occasion or event. Also as a side note the on-site bakery breads with salted butter were delicious. Great restaurant!
Booked a reservation for 7 at Duo for Christmas dinner in Oct. They called to confirm our reservation the night before and informed us it was buffet only (that would have been nice to know In Oct.) We went only because there were no alternatives available on the night of Christmas Day (at this point, being the day before). The buffet was the most disappointing meal we’ve ever had to say it best. It was 5 times the price of what it was worth ($123 per person... even for my kids who ate about $5 worth of food) and that didn’t include drinks. We all feel we were robbed of a wonderful meal, our money and our time, especially with it being our magical holiday in paradise. In 2017 it was so great, we went twice. We are so dissatisfied this year, we’re not sure we will ever go back.
Not good. Mediocre food. Waitor was rude.
We had a great experience at DUO. Our server and the rest of the staff were friendly and attentive. The steak and sides were cooked perfectly. The ambience was perfect for celebrating my mom’s birthday. My son appreciated the kids buffet. We also loved the cotton candy at the end of our meal. Thank you DUO! We will definitely be returning for another great meal.
The porterhouses was cooked perfectly! Great night out
The food was delicious!!! The service was OUTSTANDING!!! I only wish I could give the service rating a higher star value than 5. It was a 10. Thanks for making our evening so enjoyable.
Took my sister for birthday dinner at 6 pm. Nearly outnumbered by children...triplets at one table, crying baby and toddler at another...surrounded by frenetic child energy...not what one expects when going out for upscale seafood dinner. Clearly families that stay at resort eat here. Waiter (Timmy) responded to our request to move us to another table. Whew!
Seafood trio dish was ok but not worth $60
We were staying nearby at a different resort. We were craving a good steak and gave it a shot. It was so good the first time, three nights later we came back for our final dinner on the island. Even though it is a typical resort (over) priced menu, everything in Maui is $$, so that's not really a knock on this specific place.
Highly recommend the 35 day aged Ribeye for two and the scallops starter when available.
If you're Gluten Free (as we are), the menu is marked as such (even special sauces) and the staff is exceedingly eager to help guide your order.
Once again brad gave us outstanding service
The waiter Chase was nice and hustled at first. He memorized the order and screwed it up. I would be more impressed if he wrote it down and got it right. my steak was overcooked he forgot the mushrooms (that’s all I ordered), they overcooked my sons steak and my friends had the chefs course prime rib and it was cooked to death. No one came back to check on us. by the time I flagged someone down for my mushrooms my steak was nearly gone. (we waited a long time).
the service started out excellent once our food came we barely saw the waiter again. Manager came when we were done I was too tired to complain my son fell asleep in his chair. 2.5 hours with no appetizers just salads first. Way over priced for what we got. I don’t mind paying for great food
I never write reviews, but felt given our experience that I needed to. The serving time was long. We ordered steaks that was over done in Paprika. The food was not good. Not a great experience. Location is beautiful although.
We love Duo. The service is excellent, they are very child friendly, and the food is great! Their sashimi is fantastic and I highly recommend it. Their dark chocolate moose dessert is amazing!
Fabulous evening. Everything from the service, drinks, meal, and setting was perfect. We had someone with several food allergies dining with us, and the chef was outstanding at meeting the needs. The manager even stopped by our table to check on us. We drove across the island just to repeat our experience at DUO.
We visited for Thanksgiving brunch and we had previously done Mother's Day brunch here. I cannot imagine that there is a better or most extensive buffet on this island. They have everything. There was so much to choose from, I completely missed the fresh seafood station with shrimp and crab legs. Saw it on my way out - darn it. But it's not just buffet food, everything was delicious, nothing I tried missed the mark. And the desserts, OMG. So many, so creative and so scrumptious. And the service was impeccable. Our waiter Chad was very friendly and attentive as was the rest of the staff, filling coffee, waters, taking empties away quickly to make space for reloads. Now this isn't cheap. So come hungry and get after it.
Overall, wonderful. However, with 5:30om reservations, I do not know why Niki at the front made us wait 10 mins before seating us. A party of 2 adults. She sat other larger parties before us. This was not acceptable. The restaurant had just opened and was not crowded. Please explain.
One of our favorite restaurants on the island, but this week it was just OK. The service was slow and not to their normal standards. The short ribs that were highlighted on the menu were disappointing. I’m sure we’ll be back, but probably won’t recommend until we know their back on top.
We have been to Duo many times and it never disappoints. We went for Wednesday Burger night and both my husband and I ordered the fried chicken burger with huli huli glaze on a sweet Hawaiian bread bun - delicious! I ordered the Maui Onion Soup to start (it wasn’t on the menu, but I’ve had it before and inquired about it, so they were still able to make it). We also ordered a side of parmesan truffle fries (amazing!) and roasted vegetables. For drinks we ordered a lychee martini and pear martini. Both were light and hit the spot. The service was great and the atmosphere was very pleasant - not too noisy.
You can’t go wrong with dinner here!
Went for our Anniversary dinner with our family. A few hiccups with our orders but they comp'd desert💕 I had snapper for the 1st time and It was delicious!
