The Dry Dock Waterfront Grill is a “polished casual” restaurant over looking Sarasota Bay. We are located at the south end of Longboat Key behind the gas station. We are north of St. Armand’s Circle, and minutes from downtown Sarasota. Best known for Fresh Grouper, Red Snapper, and The Famous Lobster Roll. Enjoy the second story dining area with a panaramic view of the bay, or enjoy dining outdoors on our dockside patio.

Very nice restaurant. Food was excellent, good service, good value. Casual dinning. Only complaint was the inadequate parking. Overall all though well worth the trip out to Long Boat. Will definitely go again.

First time ever to be disappointed in the food. Snapper seemed dried out and tasteless. Uncrispy fried fish, almost as if it had been cooked earlier and then reheated.

It is a quietly tugged away place that offers a panoramic view of the bay. Plenty of pelicans and birds to entertain the little ones while you enjoy the meal. Service was excellent.

One the best " hidden gems" in the area. This was our third trip. It is always a treat. Great food and service. The views from the outside patio are outstanding. I highly recommend a visit.

We went to dry dock this time for an early dinner and as usual the food is outstanding! We started our dinner by sharing bacon-wrapped scallops on wonton crisps and then both had grouper tacos. I had blackened grouper tacos and they were absolutely out of this world! With the beautiful weather, amazing scenery, and fantastic food and service by Jordan we had an amazing dinner! Can't wait till the next time we get to go to dry dock! Even took some Key Lime Pie home! This is definitely an experience that cannot be missed.

Dry Dock Grill is absolutely my favorite place to eat in Sarasota. The fish is without a doubt the freshest in the entire area. Best place for a romantic evening on the water.

We are from Ohio and only come down to Florida for 2 weeks each year. The Dry Dock is one of our favorite restaurants. We make sure we come here several times during our stay and we always have supper here on our last night in Florida. It has become a special tradition.

We have been dining at Dry Dock for over 20 years and not only is the experience consistent year after year but it gets better each time we dine here. The ingredients are always at their peak of freshness, prepared at diners’ choice, and promptly served. This year’s stone crabs are the best we’ve ever had. I would one day like to see my favorite dish on the menu - shrimp and grits. I am sure they would do a wonderful job with this simple dish. What a pleasure to now be able to make reservations well in advance.

They still do a good job. Our friends had the Linguine and they were thrilled how it good it still was.
My wife and I split a caesar salad and split a lobster tacos with french fries. Beautiful taste.
We took nothing home. Our friends took home half an order of linguine.Reservations were on time.

Arrived and was seated promptly. Delicious appetizers, escargot, chowder and of course their delicious bread. Drinks were good, the Pina Colada’s were mixed perfectly. Server was very helpful with suggestions and had an excellent knowledge of the menu. She was pleasant and fun. We had a table for six with a beautiful view of Sarasota. Excellent dinner, good time had by all.

We had an amazing meal at Dry Dock. The food, cocktails, service, and atmosphere were outstanding. Our server Tom was attentive, our seafood was cooked to perfection, and the covered patio was beautifully lit for an exceptional experience. We will certainly be back!

To be honest, the venue and food were good but as we were meeting up with friends last seen years ago, we were so focused on seeing them again that we didn't really pay too much attention!
But it was lovely overlooking the water and chatting away and our server was efficient and not at all intrusive.
So it was all very enjoyable. Of course, like all clients, we found it rather expensive, but worth it!

Wonderful food and great service. We had been sight-seeing all day and our cell phone was dead. Kurt came to the rescue and charged our phone so we could use it to find our way back to our hotel. Dani was very knowledgeable about all items on the menu and gave us some good recommendations. Great all-round dining experience.

Was an extremely disappointing evening. For some reason we never received our food. Left after over waiting over thirty minutes without having our meal we ordered. Bar service was excellent. Guess we should have had dinner at the bar!

We have eaten here several times and every time is a joy. This time was no exception. We arrived early but were seated immediately at an indoor table with a water view - and there was our server. This time we ordered the spinach side salad; scallops wrapped in bacon; grouper bites; fish and chip plate; and finally chocolate mousse cake. Everything was fresh and delicious. A wonderful way to spend time on a Sunday afternoon !

BTW - the view is always spectacular !

Very pretty spot on deck overlooking the water. Using Open Table got us in very easily. Had blackened fish and shrimp tacos. Both were good especially the sauce. David the server was attentive with refills and letting us enjoy our meal and the view.

Everything was as good as you could ask for. Staff is very cordial and professional. Atmosphere is great, especially being on the water. Food was absolutely excellent. By no means is it cheap, but well worth the price to dine here. Will definitely be going back!

Dry Dock never fails to disappoint. From the minute you walk in the door you feel like you’re in a factory. The hostess uses a walkie talkie to communicate with her co-workers and hostesses on the ground level (outdoor seating) and upstairs. Diners are herded through the seating process. Not a warm greeting. The food is consistently mediocre. On our last visit the grouper was tasteless. No seasoning whatsoever. The red potatoes were hard as a rock. We asked to return them for more cooking. I overheard the server ask the floor manager and he told her “that’s how they are”. We were brought another order and were told “they can’t be cooked any more”. They were equally as hard as the first batch. When we left I had to acknowledge and say goodbye to the upstairs floor manager and the hostess by the front door. Equal to our greeting, our departure was inhospitable. Oh Dry Dock - you always disappoint me. Don’t rest on the fact that you’re one of the only restaurants on the key. Prove to us that you care about food and service!
