The menu is eclectic, trying to be all things Japanese apparently. We split the sashimi supreme platter which was very good and included roe. Seaweed salad was good. Weird - we ordered the asparagus side but the waitress was embarrassed by how long it was taking. Finally, after we finished the meal the asparagus had still not arrived. We had a dessert instead, which was fine. The service was strong. Found a couple of nice wines. We were there because this is the best Westport Plaza can probably do and we were heading to the theater.
Been many times in the past & we don't like the changes & the sashimi & our various choices of sushi & a couple of rolls were very mediocre. You want the fish to taste extremely fresh since it's not cooked & this didn't. The presentations were not up to par either...other places really put some emphasis on this as they do in Japan! The choice of fish was really limited too...don't think we'll go back...there's lots of other better choices!
We love the food, really always good. Everytime we go, which is often.. the food comes too fast. We have quit getting appetizers because after the first bite... here comes the soup and salad, then the entree 3 mins later . We feel like we are in a marathon, and this happens every time
I was displeased with my recent visit. The speed of service was very slow. We waited extremely too long to get our food. Luckily our waitress was friendly. And the bad thing was the restaurant was not even busy. So there was no reason why service was so slow.
I thoroughly enjoyed the steak noodle stir fry (soba noodles). We were seated and greeted with a smile on the patio where the noise level was minimal. Our server Lauren did a great job...recommending a delicious sushi favorite to my husband. We will definitely go back!
This place is mine and my dad's favorite go to for quality father daughter time! I took him to dinner here for Father's Day, and once again, we were not disappointed! The food was great, and our server, Carlton, was fantastic and very friendly! As always, I'm looking forward to the next time I come in.
This was actually my first bad experience here. The waitress got everything wrong. I don't know why now it's frowned upon to write it down to prevent errors. Once we got the correct food everything was great. I usually have more patience but it was my daughter's 16 birthday and she was really looking forward to it
I've been to this location for dinner a number of time and it was good. This week is the first time I visited for lunch and I was disappointed. The quality of food did not seem to be consistent between lunch to dinner. I dropped a note to management a couple days after my visit so hopefully the matter will be addressed quickly and the lunch quality will match that of their dinner.
First time eating sushi and it was amazing. Carlton (our server) was attentive and spent time explaining the menu items as this was our first time at the restaurant or eating this type of cuisine.
Would definitely come back and highly recommend Carlton as a server.
This was a great sushi experience. Our waiter, Jason, was very helpful in making sure we got the best deal and did a good job of explaining all the different options. The sushi rolls were tasty and fresh (definitely recommend the fried Philly roll). The "Purple Haze" sake is recommended as well. A little on the pricey side, but on par with similar restaurants. Nice ambiance and overall very enjoyable.
Been here many times. Was our favorite sushi restaurant. However on this occasion the food was old, very fishy. Even when we mentioned it, they were nonchalant. Probably wont go to this restaurant again. Real disapointment to lose one of our favorite restaurants.
This is one of our favorite restaurants, and usually the service is excellent, but Carlton was terrible. Brought all of our food almost together, after we told him to please wait until we were done with our salads and soup. I had Sea Bass my favorite, and by the time I got to it, it was cold, my husband had Tuna also cold. The soup was luke warm...I asked for a club soda with cherry juice and he put one cherry in it ??? It was like he had no idea what he was doing. It ruined our meal...it was like he was rushing us out of the door. Very few people there, and we didn't even see a manager. We will be back, but not with Carlton serving us.
