Reservations , taken in as soon as we arrived .
Friday the bar and restaurant were both full . Service was attentive .and polite
We both enjoyed our meals and will be back .
Nice job all the way around .👍
Drake is located at the corner of Franklin and Wall, in downtown Bend. Long narrow restaurant with bar on one side and booths, tables on the other along windows. Cozy, pleasant ambiance. Craft cocktails--many good choices--plus traditional options. Good wine list. The service and food were very good; I had pork schnitzel and my wife had hanger steak--we would recommend these options and order them next time, as well. We selected this from our tour book plus reviews, and were not disappointed. I would recommend this to anyone wanting fine dining in downtown Bend, and we would return next time we are in town.
Great place, great food!
The restaurant was visited on a Tuesday night . The meal was served in a inconsistent manner where 2 meals were brought out at a time about 10 minutes apart . The food was below average at best and the service was slow and confusing.
In a competitive market , Drake needs to do better in order to survive ...
It was a Saturday night so it was crowded. Reservation worked well. Waitress neglected to mention specials on the board above bar, which we didn't notice. Good Mediterranean salad, large portion. I had schnitzel which was not very good. Large portion, though. Husband had steak and potato which was a bit better. Probably just ordered the wrong dish!
Great lunch date for lunch. Had reservations but did have to wait some. Service was great!
Another fantastic lunch at The Drake. Can’t beat it!
We both had the sockeye special. It came with a wonderful potato & crab cake. It was one of the best dinners we’ve ever had in Bend (we’ve been here six years). Chef John continues to create outstanding meals and Ted and Jenna provide a warm and hospitable environment. The service, by Sawyer’s mom was superb. While we also enjoy Washington, Drake will continue to be our go to place.
We went to celebrate my sister's and my birthday with friends. The service was prompt and friendly and all of liked what we ordered.
Anniversary dinner. Also great service. Drinks were great. Food not what I was expecting but the chicken was still amazing!
Our reservation was ready on time. It was a bit loud in the restaurant. The specials were great and the service was great. Our anniversary was not acknowledged, little disappointed, but oh well.
Meh and undistinguished. Limited menu with a decent wine selection. Service felt a bit rushed and impersonal but it was dinner time in a resort town so maybe that’s the norm. I guess I expected more the the “best place in town”
Food and service was outstanding. We had a good time catching up with the setting we were out. Noise did create hearing issues and would encourage having an acoustic engineer check it out.
Very nice as always
We are never disappointed by the dining experience at Drake. It began with their honoring my request for an outdoor table; it was a prefect evening for al fresco dining. I almost always go for their fish special; it was halibut on Saturday and it was grilled perfectly so it was moist and delicious. In our group, one person also ordered the halibut, one had the fried chicken and one the crab cakes; all were pleased with their dinners. The only downside was that the main dishes arrived a bit too soon after the shishito peppers which we shared as an appetizer. They were delicious but we were only half-way through when the dinners arrived.
Had a great meal that we really enjoyed. Great drinks and service.
The pork chop & Drake burger are amazing! The service is excellent & fun. A little noisey as the afternoon went on.
The reason you have so many Monday night customers coming in for the special steak and frites is because I can't help sharing the best deal in Bend! My Bible study people come for it, all my Riverfront neighbors come for it and so do my cousins! Now I need to make reservations for it! I should quit telling everyone how great it is!
We gave been to Drakes before but not for awhile. Our daughter purchased us a gift card for my wife's birthday so we went on a Saturday night. We had reservations and we did get seated promptly. Had a nice wine. Ordered dinners. When the dinners were delivered, the one they brought to my wife was not what she ordered (she ordered a pasta dish). Mistake number one. They took it back and cooked her the correct meal. In the meantime, she had me eat my dinner so that it would not get cold, so we basically ate separately. They apologized but still billed us for the regular meal prices with no compensation for their error. Mistake number two. Not a good sign. It will be awhile before we go back.
Great food and atmosphere, it was just a little hot inside that night.
Amazing meal at the Drake. Kuddos to the chef the menu was unique and everything we had was delicious. Jacqueline our server was amazing as well
We had to call in route to adjust our reservations and they were very accommodating and it worked out great! The service was outstanding and the food was fabulous, we will go back again and will refer friends to eat at The Drake!
Bend is an expensive town and I object to paying 58+$ for a steak, or most entres, and initially that was why I picked Drake, this was a reasonably priced meal that got good reviews. The food was excellent and it was well located and lived up to its good reviews. The menu was creative and satisfied my salad and vegetarian cravings in a roasted peach salad with a delicious corn fritter and my partner loved his hanger steak entre.
Best food in Bend!
We had been trying to get in this restaurant the past couple times we’ve been in Bend. The reviews are great and we were sure we were in for a special treat. I’m not sure what happened, but our dinners were not seasoned. They were so tasteless and the peaches on my peach salad were very hard. The butterscotch pudding was the highlight of the meal.
Salmon came out raw in the middle. To offset the food quality the server was very pleasant
We met our kids for dinner, sharing small plates, salads and burgers. We were all able to sample at least 10 different items, and every one of them rated rave reviews. The grilled nectarine w/ricotta and corn fritters were the favorites.
The kids were all worried about meeting after work without having time to clean up - one is a brewery dude, and two are farmers. We also had a toddler in the mix. We all felt comfortable and welcome; the baby was welcome as well.
Overall, we would rate the entire experience as “excellent.” Thank you, Drake!
Very good food and excellent service in an attractive wood-paneled setting. Good value for the money.
Only down side is that it was a hot evening and the AC didn't seem to be working.
Brought a friend who just purchased a house in Bend. Holly was our server and was super friendly and attentive as well as offering wine tasting and suggestions. She knows her wine. We enjoyed the bonus car show too. Fun evening!
Arrived, and were the only people at the door. Waited to be seated after 5 people in the staff looked at us, even hostess didn’t come over, our already busy waitress saw no one was walking over and greeted us and seated us from there.
Waitress was very friendly, but food took a while, and our appetizer did not get put in, so didn’t get that until after our entree.
Overall, food was great, just not as great an experience as the first time we dined here. Everyone is usually very friendly and helpful, but maybe bc it was later in the night everyone was tired.
We booked a table after reading reviews. Friendly staff seated us. Our waitress was nice. Food came quickly. The wedge was adequate and the burrata with olives was fine. The crab cake was inedible. After one bite by each of us (were sharing ) we agreed it was awful! Very fishy. The waitress came to clear the table and noticed the full very large crab cake mostly there. She asked if we were done. I said yes, it was bad. She repeated “bad?” I said yes, very bad fishy taste. We got no apology or adjustment. Food can always be bad, but when called to the attention of the staff something should be done. We won’t be back!
Service was fabulous and the food was amazing. Great value and setting.
The French guy was the best part!
Service was wonderful. Food was excellent. The waiter wished me and my lovely wife congratulations on our two year anniversary.
Our server was new...I think she said her 3rd shift. We LOVED her...she was great. However, her manager was a French man who was openly rude to her in front of us on several occasions. It was awkward. Food was okay. Good ambiance. Hopefully the French guy will loosen up.
The wine list is comprehensive with many Oregon wines. The pork scallopini was absolutely fabulous!
Went to dinner at Drake for my daughters 25th Birthday. She was visiting from out of town and I let her pick the restaurant. We had a great server who was very attentive, the food was wonderful and served hot. Schnitzel was to die for! One of my favorite restaurants in Bend!
Great burgers! The special fish had great sauce, but I wouldn't order it again. The fried chicken was great too!
Exceptionally creative and delicious food! Service friendly and courteous
