We're unlike anything else in the Triangle.
Dos Perros offers fresh and truly authentic Mexican cuisine, an extensive beer list, and carefully chosen wines. Our house-made aguas frescas (horchata, hibiscus, and more) are delicious by themselves or in several of our innovative cocktails. And we serve it all in a warm but upscale environment.
And for groups of up to 50, we offer a warm, cozy, downstairs private dining room, perfect for private parties. Our 60" high-definition flat screen adds to the possibilities; think business meetings or presentations, movie night, or that big game.
Ideally located, we are downtown, just a couple-minute walk from the Durham Performing Arts Center, making us a popular pre- or post-performance restaurant destination.

I went with a group of friends we ordered lamb tacos . I was very disappointed about the quality, the tacos were cold, the lamb had a lot of fat , the salsa on the tacos had not taste and really 18 dollars for that kind of food? The quality has gone down and I won’t cone back. My friends thought the same

The outdoor seating is really nice and the servers were friendly and attentive. Last time I went, the salmon I ordered was fantastic and worth the price. However, this time the shrimp I ordered was not good- the sauce was unremarkable, grits were not seasoned, and black beans were just okay. The whole dish came out lukewarm, and was insanely overpriced for what you get. My husband ordered beef tacos- which was three beef tacos for $18. The tacos were amazing, however $18 for 3 small tacos is just ridiculous. The food is just way too overpriced for what you get and not consistent.

Dos Perros knows how to do food! Went for the Vegan challenge and tried all 3 vegan dishes - they were all amazing! Sat outside and the patio is fun with great people watching. the service was good, efficient, our server was not overly friendly, though, but have had better experiences on prior visits.
this is one of our go-to places and we are GF vegan so it is great to try the new vegan dishes!

Service was great. Food and drinks were not good. Sent back a few things and it was just not good. Several in our party were sick afterwards.

We always appreciate that Dos Perros has vegan options. This time, we ordered the 3-course Bull City Vegan Challenge menu - it was delicious, especially the esquites! We will be back.

I definitely enjoyed the atmosphere in this modern take of Hispanic cuisine. The food was really filling even though the portion size seemed smaller at first. I would definitely go for the queso again as an appetizer. The mixture was different but really tasty. I'd go on a date here again whenever I'm back around downtown Durham.

We started with calamari, which was a little too salty and not served hot enough. But it was still good. Had the basic margarita which was good. My dinner was the Vegetarian Chile Relleno which was excel;;went. Had flan for dessert which was creamy and tasty. Overall very good. Service was excellent.

We went specifically for the Vegan Challenge and both the appetizer and entree were fabulous. We did find the dessert a little tasteless however. The service was great and we really enjoyed the meal.

We had been wanting to try this restaurant since we moved to the Raleigh area 2.5 years ago and Easter Sunday was finally the day! Since I’m pregnant I couldn’t enjoy a margarita, however they looked amazing. The chips, salsa, and fresh guac was incredible. I’m a Mexican food snob and many of the places in this area don’t compare to restaurants in NJ/NYC. With that being said, this was some of the BEST chips and guacamole. My husband had the carnitas burrito for his entree and I had the enchiladas. Both were good! We will definitely return.

Made reservation hoping for Taco night for my son’s birthday. Arrived to find they had changed their schedule. We had delicious tacos anyway and our son really enjoyed it! We will definitely return. Adults were able to enjoy $5 margaritas too!

Dinner before DPAC show is usually at Dos Peros for our family. Menu is fresh, specials are unique, and margarita's excellent. The noise level permits conversation. My wife and I enjoyed the Red Snapper special. We all had a great time.

Awesome margaritas. Short rib enchiladas were very good as well as the N.C. shrimp. Good service, good value, easy walking distance to DPAC

We love Dos Perros and it’s our go-to eatery for pre-show dinners. However, we were disappointed this last time. We both had the specials and they were only okay. The lemon chicken quesadilla would have been good but the flavor of the chicken was overpowered but too much feta cheese. The swordfish tacos special was supposed to be a full meal but was not enough. We hope that future meals are better.

Having dined at Dos Perros several times, I have some perspective. The food is of great quality, although portions are relatively small. There has been a steady decline in the level of service over the last 3 years. They seem to be more concerned with turning the table over quickly than your satisfaction or dining experience. While I will likely return to the restaurant, I will no longer go on a weekend night, or on the night of a show at DPAC...they simply are too concerned with turning over tables, and quality of experience.

Dos Perros is a go-to spot for us before going to DPAC for a show. The food is good, the server is always attentive to our needs, and the margaritas are excellent. This time we had a guest from Germany who likes Mexican food and is vegetarian. We were all able to find menu offerings that were tasty and satisfying, though our guest found her chilis rellenos a bit spicy (she only thinks she likes Mexican food, I suspect). I always recommend Dos Perros to people who for whatever reason have never discovered it.

We had tickets for a show at DPAC and it was a perfect location.

We had a reservation, were seated right away and our server was so knowledgeable in
guiding us to what we might like best.
It was DELICIOUS! We also enjoyed some vegan chocolate ice cream and that was a delight.
We will be back soon!

Outstanding foods. Finally found a restaurant with a good mole sauce--and not just one, but three variants. One notable appetizer (2/17) was a duck tamale with a slightly sweet mole sauce, rich enough to be a savory dessert. Everything I've tried here has been terrific. Not Tex-Mex at all, closer to actual Mexican cuisine, which is pretty complex. Kudos to the chef.

We were disappointed in our dinner at Dos Perros. Granted, it was Valentine's Day, but they put us in the basement, the service was slow, and the food not as good as we remembered it. We ordered guacamole as soon as we sat down and the waitress forgot it and by the time she brought it we were out of chips so we had to wait for her to bring chips. Same with a second drink. The sweet potato empanadas tasted like they were filled with bland baby food; the Caesar salad was drenched in dressing. The restaurant seems to have gone downhill. They need to change up their menu more. They need more vegetarian entrees besides the chili relleno.

Too noisy
Filled with tables of undergraduates screaming at each other .
Management should try to keep voices at indoor levels
If you are over 30 - avoid
We skipped desert & coffee to find quiet. So restaurant did not sell 4 deserts & 4 coffees- maybe $50 in lost revenue & we won't return.
