   Great dinner! Our waitress was absolutely amazing! We never needed or waited for anything! She was super attentive. The food was wonderful! Great filet, cooked perfectly and shrimp scampi was perfectly seasoned and fresh. Drinks were delicious. The chocolate eclair was also super good with coffee. Perfect anniversary dinner spot. We will definitely go back. Not too pricey either!

   We were disappointed. It was a Friday evening, but not particularly busy. It took a good 30 minutes after the appetizer was cleared from the table for the main entrees to arrive. The food was not prepared as requested (a medium-rare was definitely rare, and a rare was definitely well done) and (at least to our taste) was over-salted. Given the cost, not worth it.

   Don's Lighthouse is a favored restaurant because it checks all the boxes. The food is excellent.The service is outstanding (thank you, Laurie and Patty). The atmosphere is warm and friendly. It is a great place for lunch. A quick drive for those working downtown. Surprisingly easy drive from the east suburbs.

    This is a top notch traditional restaurant that does things the right way. Cocktails, fresh baked crusty bread with herbed butter, seafood entree w/ risotto and perfectly cooked fresh asparagus, and excellent service.

    The food was decent, but the biggest issue was service. They attempted to accommodate my party (of two) of which i am appreciative, but once settled there was an extreme lag in service. Plates were thrown at us, drinks were made improperly.

    Just didn't WOW. building need upkeep as does the dining room. Soup du Jour was Potato and Brussel Sprouts...no sprouts were seen and very little potato. Caesar Salad was dressed with essentially Creamy Italian out of a bottle. I have been to Don's Pomeroy House and this was a very big disappointment.

    Wait staff very pleasant but pretty loud in the food pickup/prep area. They seem to enjoy each others company which is great but need to keep volume down, voices carry in that area.

    Went there for Mother’s Day … not sure if they were short staffed but everything just seemed a bit off - had to ask for bread and water and soup was warm, not hot … my fish was very good but Mom’s special looked like it was from a cafeteria… I’d probably give them another try but Mom probably won’t

    Each time I go to Dons Lighthouse, it’s a pleasant experience. Meal is always good. Seafood dishes are excellent. Our waitress was outstanding and being Mothers Day, it was a busy day. She was attentive and very friendly. Excellent service!

    Nice place to take Mom on her day. Food was very tasty and portions were adequate. Service was friendly if a tad slow. Our glasses were filled without asking. Server was attentive but not hovering. A very pleasant dining experience.

    Lived on west side my entire life and passed by Don’s so many times; had Mother’s Day brunch yesterday and did not disappoint. Our server was attentive, cocktails great and the food was delicious. Not sure why it’s taken me so many years to make it in but will definitely dine again soon.

    Our server was wonderful! The presentation of my cocktail shrimp was very disappointing and nothing more than I would have done at home (5 shrimp on a plate with a small dish of cocktail sauce.) French onion soup did not have enough sherry. Filet was requested medium and arrived medium well. Fresh haddock was over cooked and dry. I am a former caterer and expect appropriately cooked food at a restaurant, such as Don’s, and most especially when a chef is on staff. Neither of the men that we saw in the kitchen putting out food looked like a chef, but I may be mistaken. The noise level was louder than normal due to a woman at the bar that looked and sounded inebriated.

    We found our dinner experience very enjoyable. Quality food and staff is excellent, experienced, and attentive. We love it here. Would recommend for anyone who enjoys the ambiance of a landmark building but updated and an upscale dining experience.

    I am a frequent Don's lunch patron. It is a surprisingly easy drive from Shaker Heights.The food, menu and atmosphere are excellent.     Food was exceptional but a bit overpriced. Waitstaff was pleasant but scarce and rushed. Nice decor and ambiance but very dimly lighted. Disappointing to see only one vegetarian entree on the menu but it was delicious and generously proportioned. I won’t hurry back.

    We haven’t been in a while and now I remember why. We were sat right near the window which would be nice except the sill had tons of chipping paint and was filthy. The ceiling has cracked and chipped paint above our head. The chair rail in the restroom has not been dusted in years. For the prices charged (anywhere from$30-60) per enter the place could really use a deep clean and some fresh paint. While my food was mostly good my salad had several wilted leaves to the extent of having to removed and set off to the side as they were slimy and inedible. For the most part the food was really good but the ambiance really needs some attention. I would love to go back and try the food again but they really need think about cleaning and painting the place.

    So disappointed. This was our second visit and will not be back. 3 steak dinners were terrible. 1 had to be returned. Service was so poor. Drinks came after the appetizer and had to ask for bread. Only pro to the evening was the company we were dining with and the apple pie. We won't be back.
