Doheny Room - SBE
Floor to ceiling windows, shutter treatments and abundant greenery yield a comfortable ambiance shaped to satisfy the city’s many social appetites.
Impeccable service, great food, great specials.
Drinks were extremely over priced for what they were. We were two girls ordered 2 drinks and 3 shots and spend $250.00. I will not be going back
Holly & Kat are AMAZING! Anytime I'm in the area a stop at Doheny Room is a MUST!
Front hostess was great, hospitable and welcoming. Servers need to be on top of their game re time efficiency, long wait for orders to be taken and to bring the check. Some staff were unprofessional, Sad to say.
Great ambiance, food was delicious; all small plates (Greek meatballs, Shrimp Toast, Fries, and amazing Chocolate Flambé for dessert!)
The food was amazing and i loved the aesthetic of the place! def will come back
I went to The Doheny Room to celebrate my 5th Year Anniversary of living in LA with a group of girlfriends. The hosts were welcoming and friendly. A few of us got there early and got started at the bar. We loved Miles. All of the food items we ordered were delicious, except for the tuna ceviche, which was REALLY disappointing, especially given how great everything else was, e.g., the sliders, fries, chicken meatballs, and shrimp toast. All in all, it was a lovely evening. The waitress didn't pressure us too much to keep ordering or rush us out so we were able to have a leisurely meal and order drinks and food whenever we felt like it. Good times!
Great food fun atmosphere club upstairs is really fun if you were able to get in.
Great atmosphere. Good for groups and fantastic music
Food was mediocre
More of a hangout spot with friends to get drinks and some appetizers then go upstairs to dance and drink and more
I love upscale venues but this place is honestly pretentious. CUSTOMER SERVICE IS TERRIBLE! Our group was seated for our table reservation@8:30pm on Saturday. 2 of us sat while we waited for the rest of our party. The waitress initially was very friendly & quick to suggest a cocktail while we waited. My friend & I began to look over the menu & decided on drinks, chatting. She then checked on us 2 times again asking what we are ordering. We then orderd 2 drinks as we waited. The other 2 in our party arrived within 15 mins. She then came by for their order twice as they decided they were still unsure of what to order. A total of 30mins passed since being seated & the waitress came by yet again, pressing for additional orders. I mentioned to her that we were just sticking to drinks for right now as my friend then proceeded to order a beverage but was cut off by the waitress who stated, "WELL GUYS THESE TABLES ARE FOR FOOD ONLY. IF YOU'RE NOT ORDERING FOOD NOW YOU CAN'T SIT HERE." I then told her we are finishing our drinks why should we have to get up. She said, "JUST OUR POLICY. SORRY." I said "close us out now." I went over to the hostess in the meantime, a tall girl with short blonde hair & a stiff face. I explained to her the situation & she abruptly states, "yes thats our policy. You have to order food or you can't sit there." Then she ignored me and attended to new guests who walked in. The other hostess attempted to reconcile& said, "hi im sorry did you have a question?" As she smiled. I explained to her what i had just explained to her rude co-worker who somehow thought she owned Doheny Room for a night. The second hostess was rather friendly&apologetic. Then the blonde even more so rudely interrupted & said, "actually we need that table right now. You guys can't sit there anymore." WE WERE ACTUALLY DEMANDED TO LEAVE THE TABLE FOR NOT ORDERING FOOD QUICKLY ENOUGH. The restaurant was empty btw. what a joke. Just AS PRETENTIOUS AS IT GETS! PATHETIC SERVICE.
Went to Doheny room for DineLA and tried their menu which was a good value with a few courses. The food was pretty good and cocktails were good but this is more of a club than a restaurant. The service was good but for a date that doesn't include the dancing and late night partying this place is not an ideal match. I would go here for one or the other, but I feel like they need to decide whether they want to be a serious restaurant or a party spot.
My experience was terrible for a birthday celebration. We were seated by the door and the service was so below any restaurant standard I have ever experienced. It took almost 40 minutes for our server to bring a beer and it came just the bottle—no glassware. No imagine how long it took to order food. After complaining of the horrible experience the manager took off our dessert on a $200++ bill and still charged 20% gratuity for services not rendered. I would not recommend this experience to anyone.
The server wasn't listening and made a lot of mistakes in the order including charging us for things she didn't give us .
Everything was great- like usual. Never lets me down and I’ll always continue recommending to everyone! Love this place
Oh no no no no Doheney room... Your behavior on Friday night was simply reprehensible.
I made a reservation a week early to take one of our dearest friends out for his birthday, we had a table of eight. From the moment that I walked in the door at 7:45 on a Friday nite, the treatment was completely subpar. Even though I reserved a week ago & the restaurant was empty, the hostess told me that I MUST be seated upstairs. Apparently, this is some sort of punishment for early arrivals. The young & naïve hostess explain the business model: "we seat people upstairs who come in first and then ask them to leave by 10:30 so that we can turn the upstairs into a nightclub"... Seriously? Well this would've been well and good if I didn't take a tour upstairs. It smelled like a frat house on a Sunday morning with lounge-y couches and low tables... Certainly not apropos for a dinner party! The manager Holly who insisted that I take my party up there which I flatly refused... Finally, she relented & gave us a gorgeous table downstairs and here's the good part: the food was off the hook almost making this whole hospitality travesty worthwhile, but here's the rub: we had to ask for dessert with a candle no less than five times it took them almost 45 minutes to bring 2 desserts. Sam, I hope you're reading this. We are huge fan of the SBE Group and absolutely love Cleo's & Bazaar where we been treated exquisitely. Doheney room has such potential. As a foodie we appreciate your chef, But otherwise this restaurant is for the "clubbers"... For a discerning clientele, the management needs to recalibrate and be educated not treat guests like garbage. And for the record, there must've been a lot of cancellations because during the course of dinner, barely half the restaurant was seated. Shame on you Management of Doheney room for giving me and my party such a hard time. Sadly, I can't recommend this property my many friends on Social Media, nor do we have plans to return.
Thus is one of my FAVORITE restaurants in LA! The decor is great, the staff is super friendly, and the food is AMAZING!
always a hands down favorite if I can scrape myself out of the polo lounge
I love the food here. Though I think they changed the menu again. Downsized. I don't recommend coming here for a romantic date. It's loud in there you'll have to scream in order to have a conversation with someone. TBH service is not that great and they are slow, but the food makes it worth coming back.
1 waitress for the entire restaurant. It took her forever to come over to us. Our food took an hour to arrive she said there was a new chef. The music was so loud we couldn't hear each other talk.
Birthday meal, service was good but removal of finished plates was slow and we had to ask each time we wanted a new drink. Music was fantastic!
It was so cold in the restaurant. The staff was even wearing jackets. Manager was not willing to fix the ac temperature. It was probably 60 degrees where outside was 75
didn't let us in
A great atmosohere, hospitable and kind staff, and amazing/unique food! It was an all around wonderful experience! I definitely recommend! The brussel sprouts were awesome! We also had the avocado and beets sushi was wonderful! We also got the steak meal which was perfect! Lastly the chocolate dome dessert gets set on fire and is a beautiful dessert as well as delicious! Make sure to go on your trip to West Hollywood! Also Brenda was our server and she was the sweetest lady!
The people were very nice, our server, runners and bussers were all very good and attentive. We were the only table in the room until almost 9pm so it felt a little weird. But. The food was delicious, the SBE Brussels Sprouts never disappoint, and the room was interesting. Overall a good experience.
It was date night with my husband after a very long month and hectic schedules. We were looking forward to a fantastic evening but that didn't happen, well it did, eventually; however not at this venue.
When we arrived we were seated quite promptly. However, we then sat for 24 minutes without a single member of staff even attempting to speak to us or offer us a drink, talk through the menu - NOTHING!! . Absolutely abysmal. There were servers leaning on the bar chatting. When a couple entered the restaurant, sat next to us, were greeted, and offered drinks within 2 or so minutes - that was our que to leave and never head back.
Wonderful service as well as food. Never disappointed:)
Very terrible customer service. Workers were so rude when they spoke to you.
Very disappointed. We were shown to our table immediately, service was good taking orders.
Started with a salad, not finished when main course put on the table to get cold
Check was put on our table before we finished dessert, no one asked about coffee or tea
Seemed strange as restaurant was not even half full.
Food was excellent
Valet $12, street parking hard to come by at that intersection. There are lots of good restaurants in LA without extra $15.
Wouldn't go back anyways with service, valet was just an added insult
Hugely noisy from canned music
Everything went wrong from the start. No waitress for a long time. Then the host told us two wait staff pulled a no-show. We could sympathize. Finally put in our drinks. Took a while to get them. Took forever to get our food. Then they brought the wrong desserts. Just a disaster from which they never seemed able to recover.
amazing little hidden gem one of my favorites
We wanted to try this place for Dine LA but the website failed to mention that it wasn't available on the weekends. However, the service was amazing. As soon as they realized that we had only come for dine LA, they sent us some complementary appetizers. Our waitress was friendly and engaging, but really, the whole staff checked in on us and made sure we were happy. Our dessert took forever but we didn't really care because everyone was so awesome.
Our business meeting and dinner was a great experience in the dining room with great food and service from our servers. However, when my associates and clients tried to go upstairs for the night club portion of the establishment the door staff was rude, and demanded an excessive tip to enter the club or buy bottle service. We are not an alcoholic group, so being forced to buy that much alcohol should never be forced on valued guests.
Great evening out. Food and service were absolutely great. Lots of options for Vegans and Vegetarians. The Dome signature desert is not only out of this world in the presentation but also very tasty.
Tiny portions. Way over priced. Food NOT good. Needs a lot of work. Ambience and decor were awesome though. Drinks were not well mixed.
perfect night, perfect food, perfect ambiance. everything was good.
The waitress and bartenders were great. Very friendly. The bouncers were in some power trip as if it was an exclusive place. That's a huge downfall. They were very rude to a girlfriend of mine at the start of the night. She won't be returning.
