Dickie Brennan's Steakhouse
“Top Steakhouses in America” Maxim Magazine and Playboy, and featured in the Wall Street Journal, Dickie Brennan’s Steakhouse serves straightforward prime steaks with a New Orleans touch. Signature dishes and sides include: The House Filet (served with masa flash-fried Louisiana oysters), Tomato Blue Cheese Napoleon, Pontalba Potatoes, and a Roasted Sweet Potato with Creole Pecan Butter. The house favorite dessert is a toss up between the Coconut Cake with a chiffon buttercream and the Bananas Foster Bread Pudding—so go ahead and order both.

Food and service was excellent. They allowed my grandson to come in even though he did not meet the dress code. Thank you for a wonderful memory!
Amazing food amazing service! Definitely recommend
The crawfish cake, filet, creamed spinach and creme brûlée were all fantastic!
Was ok. Nothing over the top.
It was my bday everything was great
Food was delicious and service was impeccable.
Definitely be coming back. House made blue cheese fantastic. Quality steaks and desserts.
Excellent food and service. We will be back again!
Nico was an amazing server cant wait to go back!
I had a great experience at Dickie Brennen’s Steakhouse. The service was impeccable. I had the crawfish cake which was outstanding. A nice change from traditional crab cake, and the sauce was delicious. My filet was cooked just as I ordered, and the sautéed mushrooms were a perfect compliment. I highly recommend Dickie Brennan’s Steakhouse.
Wonderful service, food was delicious and the overall experience was amazing.
Our waiter, Alberto was simply classic & wonderful Bravo!
Was a diamond in the middle of the French Quarter.
We had a 1:15 lunch res on Easter Sunday for a party of 7. My family of 3 arrived on time the other family of 4 was running late & would be there at 1:30. When I told the person who took our drink order his response was ‘no problem you have this table all afternoon’.
The remaining of our party arrived at 1:30 & we placed our order in what I thought to be a timely manner. Food & drinks were exceptional except for one server who lingered or hovered around our table wanting to clear our plates before we are done.
Awesome experience. We really enjoyed the restaurant
The food was great service was awesome when you get there don't let the outside fool you a little hard to get to but well worth the effort
Amazing steak and also whisky old fashions!!
We were looking forward to our dinner, we haven’t been here in 2 years. Unfortunately the memorable dining experience from 2 years ago is long gone. The wait for dinner was at least 40 minutes from the time we ordered and the portions weren’t at all what we remembered. Not sure if we will visit again.
Excellent food and service. Been going since they opened in 1998. Try the coconut cake!
Is it REALLY a steakhouse?! With only 3 basic choices of meat cuts I think they should just be considered a decent restaurant. The meat was not anything outstanding compared to any other real steakhouse. Even the filet at med rare had a dry, liver like texture. No nice grass fed textures to it. Tasted like it came frozen from Costco then thrown on a grill.
Also, BEWARE, this restaurant charges you 5% ON TOP OF TAXES AND ALL COSTS as a "service charge" to cover their "covid cleaning". What a bunch of BS!!!! How did our $400 meal for 2 cause $20 of cleaning when those who spent $200 for 2 only were responsible for $10 of cleaning costs??!!! THIS IS RIDICULOUS.
So, before even considering being ripped off by Dickie (appropriate name) you should consider Revolution or Irene's for other fine dining (and better meat) choices.
It was a great meal. They seemed a bit busy so the service was a bit lackluster.
Great service and the food was excellent!
The food was not what you pay for. Our steaks were not cooked how we asked. They were as hard as a hockey puck and we asked for Medium cooked steaks. The drinks were average and they stuck us in a small room separate from all the other diners. Would not go back and I wouldn’t recommend to anyone either. Very disappointed.
Great cocktails and food. The Chateaubriand was excellent!!
The service was outstanding. Our waiter was amazing. The food was good. My only issue was the steak. I ordered the ribeye. There was no seasoning at all on the meat. Not even salt. It just didn’t have any flavor at all. The sauces were wonderful but I don’t usually eat sauce with my steak. It shouldn’t need it. We didn’t order any sauce but it was brought out with our meal. The pepper cream sauce with Irish whiskey was delicious on its own. I just wish the steak was seasoned better.
Fantastic waiter staff and food, would highly recommend!
Overall not impressed with this place. Host was clueless to start, server was spread thin but also not friendly nor professional, out of menu items at 715 on a Saturday night, steaks and bisque were bland. The au gratin potatoes were unfortunately the highlight of the entire night.
The house red wine ruined the meal. It’s just awful.
We booked a reservation at Dickie Brennanas for a private dining experience on our wedding night, stated that in the reservation and requested a private table. We werent seated in a private area at all and no mention of our wedding was mentioned nor any special arrangements expressed. That was disappointing because I assumed a place of Brennans stature would be more accommodating. The food however was delicious.
Fantastic service and delicious food made for the perfect birthday dinner!
Food was fabulous!!!
Food was decent, not quite what we expected but worth the try.
Been going there for many years. No more! Food lacked taste, crawfish appetizer smelled and tasted extremely fishy, steaks over cooked, service weak!
Used to be the go to for a steak in the crescent city. Everything is just fallen so off. No crab meat? We are in New Orleans, can’t be that hard to put forth a little effort and find a local vendor. No asparagus? Don’t even know what to say to that one. Service tried, but just wasn’t the same as years past. Perhaps it’s my fault for latching on to what i guess was nostalgia, but it’s been a long time since I’ve been this disappointed in a meal in New Orleans.
Hadn’t been here in years, so I was hoping it was still as good as I remembered, and it definitely did not disappoint. Everything was great. The new Lobster Gnocchi appetizer is freaking amazing. The must-get, house special filet mignon, on a bed of creamed spinach and diced potatoes with fried oysters was just as delicious as it always was! And our waiter, Jeremy, was right on with everything. Just a perfect meal, as usual!
Shrimp was weird. Steak was great.Sides were all meh.
It was delicious & service with Kathleen was excellent. Captain thought my oysters were too small so brought me larger ones.
Alfredo was an excellent server! He made the beat recommendations and made our date perfect! Attentive! Great atmosphere!
Had a quick late-afternoon snack at the Steakhouse bar. The coconut cake is iconic AND delicious!
The food was not good. Price of food did not reflect price of the food. Over $500 Bill (2 adults and 3 kids)did not think food was the level of the bill.
