Deschutes Brewery and Public House, in Bend, crafts more than exceptional beers with its sensational modern American dishes that complement its artisan beer line and relaxing atmosphere. The Korean gochujang spicy chicken wings topped with crunchy peanuts and the artichoke-jalapeno cheese dip made with chilies, artichokes and caramelized fennel and spinach make superb starters. Some of Deschutes Brewery and Public House's specialty entrées include the NW fish and chips made with beer-battered cod rolled in panko, the mushroom and truffle pizza with a garlic cream base and the dry-aged ribeye steak with a stout-shallot steak sauce. Great beers and good food. Our server was fine until he decided to go off about vaccines being some sort of conspiracy theory. This was totally unprompted and unwelcome. His extended ranting on anti-vax misinformation left a bad taste in our mouths after what was otherwise a nice evening.

The black bean burger bun was too dry to eat and was falling apart. The black bean burger itself was also very dry. The cucumbers on the salads were soft and waterlogged and inedible. We normally have a really good experience here so it was a disappointment.

We were visiting Bend and had to come to Deschutes ourselves tried to beer sampler plus get some good food.

The food was great and so was the beer! The best part of our experience was our waiter Chris! He was super friendly and attentive and even recommended places to visit in town!

Deschutes is our favorite for 13 years now. Our waiter in particular was awesome and such fun to talk to. They have heated outdoor dining for those not ready to eat inside. They have great high quality food at good prices and still had fresh hop beer on tap.
