What better way to treat your mum than brunch at Deane House on Mother's Day. Featuring crabapple mimosas, fresh baked pastries and a delightful a la carte menu of eggs benedict, sourdough pancakes and other seasonal favourites. Ideal for small and large family groups.

Very nice. As expected. Relaxing. Fine dining.
A great evening and the service was top notch. thank you to everyone for making our evening.
Really delicious food. Everything was excellent from the service to the ambiance and the presentation. The ingredients were local and organic. The waitress was super knowledgeable, friendly and willing to explain each ingredient and why it was in the dish. Great wine suggestions and incredible sour dough bread.
Amazing food. Serve staff exceptional!
Brunch was delicious. Portion sizes were perfect
The setting was good, but 2 of us were too fussy for some of the food
Brunch with my fiancé. It was lovely. Server was amazing. Second time I’ve had her.
The Deane House has a lovely, cozy feel to it and makes you feel right at home! The pancakes and eggs benny were exceptional with a twist. Loved them! Had a delightful Easter brunch with family. Looking forward to going back for supper and enjoying a leisurely stroll afterwards.
Had great expectations but was disappointed with lukewarm food at brunch. Service was excellent. Will try again.
The food was outstanding, however, the service was not suitable for a fine dining restaurant. The staff is undertrained. When I asked our server to bring my cappuccino after I had the food, she looked very confused and she rolled her eyes in a judgemental way. Spoiler. This is how coffee is served in countries like Italy. After food.
Cant get enough of the eggs benedict ...love the biscuit instead of english muffin and the sparkling wine by the glass!
We had the cheese/meat appetizer and dessert. It was all amazing and the service was perfect! The atmosphere is relaxing.
We had a fabulous time! Loved the family supper atmosphere visiting with our next table neighbours. Would definitely try another Sunday supper. Well done to the chefs!! They did an excellent job. Thanks for a great evening.
We attended the Sunday Dinner Series with guest Chef Matt Batey of Teatro on March 25 . It was my husband's birthday which was graciously acknowledged a number of times during the evening. The food was absolutely delicious and the portion sizes were appropriately small so that we comfortably make it through all the courses. The menu was published in advance and as a bonus, there was no corkage on the wine we brought to go with our meal. Will look for a Sunday Series option again
Arrived for 130 reservation and was asked to wait until 2:15 to be seated. Management offered us complimentary drinks which was kind, however it really didn’t feel like there was any sense of urgency to have us seated. Standing and waiting at the front for 45 minutes seemed like a poor solution. Come every weekend and don’t usually have any problems. Food was great.
The Deane House is a fine historic landmark in Calgary, making it a very quaint and cozy venue at which to dine. The service is great and the food is well-prepared, fresh and, for the most part, delicious. My breakfast of scrambled eggs, bacon and hash browns was less than perfect primarily due to excessively salty bacon which I mentioned to our server. The habanero sauce I put on my eggs was incredible and they make it right there. I'll return for the Saskatoon berry pancakes I had previously.
The eatery is pricey for some menu items - $12 for their dessert selections is far too high but you are paying for the ambiance and it's a very pleasant atmosphere with lots of natural light and scenic views of the river. All in all, it's a nice experience.
We had an overall excellent brunch at Deane House this past week. Service was friendly and attentive. The food here is not cheap but I am still reeling (in a good way) from the steak and duck egg special. Downsides were being seated beside a bratty toddler with indulging parents, plus a strangely dry and tasteless berry muffin; however we would return again.
Enjoyable evening out. The setting is lovely in a nicely renovated historic house in park lake setting. Skip the pre dinner cocktails, I had the Dean 71 which was served with warm sparkling wine and pulp around the rim like the drink had been spilled out of the glass. Partner was also unimpressed with her drink as well, definitely the low point of the evening. Duck was very good. Appetizers good if somewhat limited choice. Service was good.
Food was great as always, I found the drinks are over priced. Service was awesome too!
Girl friends lunch. Also birthday lunch for both of us. The manager had candles in our meals when they came to the table! So sweet. Thank you. Food was awesome. And staff are so great. Thanks for this lovely experience.
The atmosphere was a little loud and snug. Our appetizer which were fingerling potatoes was bland and I'd say 10 seconds undercooked, however that is when things improve. Our main was the duck breast which was delicious followed by the desert and coffee left us with an enjoyable evening. The service was what I expected. Nothing wow, but expected for this type of establishment.
Even though I left a note that it was our 16th wedding anniversary there was no mention from anyone. Shame as Rouge at least wrote a happy anniversary card twice for us. It's the small touches which makes all the difference.
I would venture again as their chicken meal looked delicious.
As for value here I was surprised. With an appetizer, 3 drinks, 2 mains, 2 desserts, followed by a cappuccino and Latte not including the tip the price was under $200. Not too shabby as the previous mention restaurant would have run me between $250 to $300 for almost the same amount of food/drink.
We were there for a birthday celebration. The corner we were in was cozy and warmed by the afternoon sun. Very nice. Our waitress was attentive and appeared to be very knowledgeable about their wine choices, by the glass. Our food was very good although the feature pork dish was too fatty and would not be my choice in the future. My wife enjoyed the polenta dish with a soft egg. Over all - a very enjoyable experience.
While the food was excellent, the service was not. Disappointing as it was an opportunity to take friends who hadn’t been. In the past the service has been outstanding.
Not as good as I expected. Chicken main dish tasted strange and is not something I'd recommend
Everything was delicious. Some of the best food, portions and service I've seen in Calgary.
We had a great time. The restaurant was not very busy, food was excellent. We both had the special, which was brisket. Very friendly and attentive. We were seated right next to another couple, which seemed odd, since there were mostly empty tables. Yes, we were early, but the restaurant did not fill up, so there was lots of space.
Great service, great food, great location. Fresh, bright, clean space, didn't feel rushed. It was lovely.
We went for the Bigtaste YYC lunch menu - the food was great - flavours, presentation, quality was all exceptional. The service was lacking as our server wasn't interested in talking to us or serving us. We were not offered any water refills or coffee refills even though our server walked by several times even looking at our empty glasses. Our server never asked even as a courtesy to check if we are doing ok with our meal and needed something.
Wonderful Sunday brunch in an outstanding setting. Servers were welcoming, pleasant and happy to answer questions regarding the menu, food and its preparation. Also knowledgeable about their wine list. The ‘Big Feast’ specials were perfectly prepared, flavourful and well presented. The standard brunch menu items were a little disappointing to a couple of guests. Overall a good experience and we will return.
I had a great experience at Deane House. The atmosphere was nice and classy, with pretty views of the Elbow River and downtown. We had the Big Taste set menu, and the food was tasty and well-presented. Service was professional, friendly, and accommodating. I will come again for a la carte.
Food was good. Service was a bit disappointing. We waited for more than 30 minutes for water to be refilled. Waitress was also pretty short with us.
We came here for the Big Taste Menu 2017 gourmet option, 5 course meal for $65. The dishes were unique, beautifully plated and the flavors were phenomenal. We recommended this restaurant to our friends who dined there the night after who also had a great experience. The service was top notch and we would definitely return!
Great service, food, presentation and atmosphere. Will highly recommend to anyone looking for a wonderful experience.
Was there for Big Taste. The food was gorgeously plated and the food was quite delicious! The service was good, they constantly made sure you had enough water. Overall it was a good experience
We went for the Big Taste event (5 courses). Food had unique flavours and was tasty. Portion sizes were a little small for the price ($65 per person)...we were still hungry after. An extra slice of the complimentary bread per person would have been nice because there were long wait times; the whole meal took ~2.5 hours. Was not advised that each person would be charged for both the "still water" and "sparkling water". Also, the server did not know much about the different cocktails.
Enjoyed the flavourful food and the wonderful atmosphere. Loved the large windows that you look out at while dining.
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Delicious dinner & fantastic, fresh vibe.
An absolutely fantastic restaurant, exceptional food and a perfect spot for a special occasion!
Went for a Sunday tasting menu and the food was outstanding. The services was impeccable at all levels. The bonus for Sundays is that they have free corkage.
