   Every dish we enjoyed was thoughtfully crafted, wonderfully balanced & clearly made with passion. The crawfish arancini are TO DIE FOR. We also really enjoyed the soup du jour (smoked tomato with lardon), grilled Caesar salad add royal red shrimp, truffle fries, the new house made sausage flatbread and of course the redfish pontchartrain. Can’t wait to come back to try their next seafood special

   We celebrated a birthday and were treated with impeccable service and a touch of humor! Made our experience even better. The food was completely flawless and unique and creative!! Not one bite unfinished. Definitely will dine here again.

   First time dining here and it was amazing. Great ambiance, beautifully plated, delicious food, knowledgeable and friendly staff. Our bartender mixed us customized cocktails based on us explaining what we enjoy (which were delicious) and the kitchen staff went above and beyond to ensure that my husband’s food allergy was properly acknowledged. We will definitely return - this may be a new favorite date night spot!

   We loved the crab and brie soup especially. Service was outstanding. Parking is a little tricky if you're not familiar with downtown Covington parking practices. So, if you're new, drive around the back and check out the arrangements first. Not difficult just allow a little extra time for your reservation.

   We celebrated a birthday. It was exceptional from the cocktails to the dessert and everything in between. At many restaurants there is a dish that is fabulous. Here that is every one!

   Dakota is a beautiful restaurant with a varied menu of tasty food. It was more quiet than on most nights since we were there on a Monday which made the evening more enjoyable. My lamb chop appetizer was juicy and delicious, and my entree of Veal 3 Ways was equally superb. The Soft Shell Crab tastes as good as its impressive presentation. A nice selection of desserts tops off the evening. The service was impeccable throughout the evening. It is an excellent fine dining option on the Northshore that compares favorably with the New Orleans restaurant scene. Some might consider it a bit pricey but its not enough to dine down.

   Very happy once again with a great meal along with wonderful service ! If I am to wrap up my experience dining at Dakota in one word it would be Consistency!

    A Precious Gem with Style and Flavor! Dakota is an absolute delight! The vibe strikes the perfect balance between friendly and elegant, with just the right touch of “ooh” and “aaah.” From the moment you step inside, the decor makes an impression—the light fixture in the entryway is a showstopper: zebra-striped glass paired with a whimsical menagerie of giraffes, elephants, and lions. The layout is equally impressive. The flow of the space feels breezy and intentional, with just the right number of tables and generous walkways. It’s the kind of detail that makes a difference. The local artwork scattered throughout adds a warm, thoughtful touch. Now, the food—absolutely delicious. I had the duck, and let me just say, it was the best I’ve ever had. We took dessert to go (Ms. Judy’s coconut cake—we’re saving it for a special moment), but I already know it’s going to be fabulous. Our waitress, Jessica, was top notch—attentive, knowledgeable, and her recommendations were spot on. We will definitely be back.
