The staff was great but the food was blah. Not as good as expected
I'm not a fan of sitting in the bar with a zillion television screens. We had a reservation, I thought, for the dining area. Service was fine. Food? Salmon was submerged in a miso soup...maybe I just wasn't expecting salmon soup. Nice nod to a Japanese dish, but it didn't work for me. Value for money...meh. Based on previous recommendations, my expectations were higher.
Nice views of the river from our table. Evan our server was awesome. Food selection was great. Had the trout and it was delicious
Enjoyed the trout!
Excellent Breakfast experience. Highly recommend the chicken fried chicken biscuit, yummy!
Went on Valentine's Day just after restaurants able to reopen at 25% indoor capacity. It was great we would definitely recommend.
Unfortunately the menu on the website was not what was available in the restaurant. The menu was basically the hotel room service menu and there were no veggie sides offered. As a long time patron I was really disappointed because I know how good currents used to be.
Enjoyed a romantic quiet dinner at Currents just two days after it re-opened under new Covid restrictions. Staff was laid back and friendly and made us feel right at home. Since open hours were limited, the menu was too, with staff still waiting on ingredients and supplies to come in. Although there were less people dining because of social distancing requirements, there was still a long wait on dinner and dessert. Appetizer arrived lukewarm but the main course was spot on. The temperature in the restaurant was very cold and I had to drink hot tea to stay warm during dinner. Ambience was exactly what we were looking for but overall experience was just a little less. With just having reopened, I imagine that staff is still working out all the details that would bump my rating to a five. I would still recommend to a friend and plan to revisit in the future.
The food at the Currents was very good this past weekend (Feb 11). The food came out quickly and my burger was hot, and cooked just like I asked. My partner and I ordered drinks before hand, which also came out in a timely manner. Our server was very nice and polite. Overall, it was a great experience.
Great staff great seat and great food. All around excellent experience. 👍🏼👍🏼
We got there for our reservation and it was not open
great fun before closing delicious fish tacos and atmosphereto watch sports
Restaurant is nice - great tables and ambience and loved the bar area. I ordered the Basque Chicken which came with mashed potatoes and green beans. There were a total of 4 bites of potatoes, a few green beans, and then 5 huge pieces of basically fried chicken piled on the plate. It was a little overwhelming and there was no kind of balance to the dish. My husband ordered the chorizo bolognese and it was a tiny little nest of pasta in a huge dish and that was it. Definitely too small for an entree for a normal person. It wasn't our worst dining experience, but if I do return, I'll just get a burger... seemed to be the most popular item on the menu.
Food was great, service was great, mixed drinks werent awesome.. we chose to not get drinks our second night/dinner at the hotel. But the food was fantastic!
Very god happy place to go so beautiful
Very disappointed about the food. Our party of 5 enjoyed our appetizers, (calamari and spicy shrimp, were tasty) but our dinner entrees just weren’t good. My fried chicken was dry, two salmon pasta’s didn’t have much flavor and the two beef entrees were just ok.
2-3 years ago the restaurant was considered one of the best in Bend and we ate there often, now I wouldn’t recommend spending your money there.
It’s such a beautiful spot that it’s too bad that more attention isn’t given to the menu
Another wonderful date night at our favorite neighborhood spot! Bar is not open yet, but we were seated in a nice table for 2 at the window. Steve made our drinks and took care of our food order! Can’t say enough about this place!!
Needed more waitstaff, wait time for our meal was long, steak was ordered Med and served over well done. Server asked if we would like 20% removed from our bill we declined the offer however it should be deducted without offering.
The prime rib special was delicious. We enjoyed sitting out on the patio with our shepherd. Great ambiance.
Enjoyed the ambience. Was disappointed with the fried chicken.
Delicious food....great choices on the menu! Loved everything we had! The staff was so helpful and kind. I would definitely stay again!
Great location outside along the river. Lots of safe spaces to dine in consideration of social distancing
Beautiful setting on the river for a delicious brunch
Easy to make a reservation. Seamless. Would recommend currents.
I have to say my review is being colored by fact first time I came in the hostess refused to seat me with my service dog. She told me I needed “papers”??? I stayed at the associated hotel for a week and only ate here once because of that.
Sit out on the deck with a Deschutes River view, it’s really very pretty. The deck was closed when I was there because of the late summer fire smoke. There is a lounge attached to the restaurant that also has deck seating. That was also closed.
I did end up having dinner here one evening having to leave my medical alert dog in the room. Despite the fact I made a reservation and the restaurant was pretty empty, I was sat back in a dark part of the dining room despite fact there were tables with much better views. I’m just not sure the hostess staff possess any customer service skills!!!
The food was just ok. I had a pasta special that was grossly over-salted. And a small wedge salad for $11 that was good, but the blue cheese dressing tasted like it came out of a bottle that had been sitting around for a while. For dessert I tried the “bread pudding” which honest to goodness I think was one of those little spiral cinnamon roles with some sauce on it. The highlight of the evening was the Kentucky Mule. Nicely done bartender! Bulliet Bourbon, Cock and Bull Ginger Beer and fresh lime juice. Fantastic. Service was ok, kinda like the food. As expected, nothing special.
I thought the value for what I got all around was a bit low. If I lived in Bend, this is not a place I’d frequent.
Fundraiser for the Red Cross of Central Oregon. We love the remodel but the acoustics were deafening with the live music. Too loud where we were straining to hear each other. Usually Currents food is excellent but this night it was just mediocre however the cocktails and waitress were excellent. I’m sure it will be better after this COVID time. Fabulous location.
They have a great bar menu and are really priced fairly and reasonable
The setting was beautiful! The food was very good but my steak was over cooked. The service was very poor. Took a long time to get waited on. Never brought bread had to ask for silverware after food had arrived. Asked for second glass of wine as was finely brought to table after meal was finished. In the server’s defense I think it was poor management
It was ok. I wish there had been more crab on my English muffin though
Best & most tender filet mignon ever, great flavor, cooked perfectly and was able to cut it with just my fork.
I would go for happy hour drinks and small plates. Dinner menu is okay.
I won’t go back again
A favorite when we are in the Bend area: we were early but were seated as soon as there was a table Riverside. The service was great and our waitress was training a new waiter who was also very sweet. All four of us loved the food: my personal favourite is the lox croissant but hubby loves the Huevos and Man size Mimosas and wow that is a spicy and intricately garnished Bloody Mary!
The food was good, the service excellent, and the ambience outstanding. We requested a table looking down on the river(?), and it was really fantastic. The price was cute reasonable given the setting, service and quality of food. WE had breakfast there, too, and it was also wonderful. We will definitely come back.
We absolutely recommend it.
Only brunch menu on sunday other than bar type food (hamburgers, sandwiches). If not into brunch, go on a weekday.
Incredible scenery and a beautiful interior. Food was very good, but nothing spectacular... ok for the price. Service took a very long time despite it not being busy.
Overall, it's worth it just for the outdoor seating alone.
Me and my man go here all the time. Absolutely love it
My husband & I ate here for our anniversary on Monday. The waiter took a long time to get to us. My husband had to go get him for our order. The waiter wasn't personable or friendly. The food for $74 wasn't up to par.. My husband's steak was very good tasting. Just a steak & some potatoes & no real appealing appearance .. My halibut (which I normally love other places) was bland.. it has seasoning but nothing crusted or anything with added flavor.. I did ask for some melted butter to give it some more flavor & moistness but the butter was cold & so it was hard to melt on the halibut at that point. We had to fetch the waiter for the check as well.. We won't go back..
I was our anniversary. They did everything to make it enjoyable, including giving us a wonderful dessert on them. Would recommend as a great place.
Lovely patio dining and in a Covid era, safe protocols in place.
